- Former Debt Collector replies to Josh| 1 replyYou have mistaken information Josh. Once a customer sends you a request to stop calling them, the business can only call once more to say that they have received the letter and will not be calling that customer again. If they do continue after that letter has been received, they are subject to penalty of $250-$1000 for each called received if the customer sues them. This does not matter if it a telemarketer or debt collector.
- overwhelmed| 1 replyIMC keeps calling my husband while he is driving a Semi. I had asked DANI from IMC to please not call him as it is his work number. We have quite a few medical charge offs do to our insurance being $6000.00 out of pocket first, and my husband was being sent to different specialists that ordered identical tests. He then ended up needing knee surgery and was just recovering and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Therefore I didn't have a regular pay check and don't work all year anyway. The hospital kept asking for our tax returns for the past 2 years which he no longer is employed with the employer and doesn't make same amount of money nor am I making same as shown on past tax returns. Everything changed our lives at once. IMC wouldn't let me pay 2 small charge offs off DANI said had to give her more money than that. I told no way at this point of our lives. And to please not call our place of employment. WELL DANI called my employer asking for me. We do not like being known now as bad debtors but, IMC has not sent any proof of what the bills were or if insurance had made hospital charge a lower amount since ins. is a PPO. IMC has no public speaking skills whatsoever. I am still undergoing surgeries for both breast and will have even more debt. We are lost on just how much we actually do owe. IU Health has billed us still for the same amounts IMC is saying they need paid for isn't that double billing?

- Joe| 3 repliesThese people have been calling me. They won't say who they are or what it's about. They keep asking for my birthday, Social Security number, and address. I won't give out that info because I thought it could be a scam or identity theft thing. The last time a girl called she said "there will be consequences" because I wouldn't give the information.
If it's about bill collection. . . The only people I owe money to are several hospitals. I have Obama-Care, and in April and May I spent several weeks in-patient for a broken leg and age related issues. When I would go in they would take my insurance card and I'd be there several days. Then a social worker would come along and say they didn't take insurance through Obama-Care. Then they'd literally walk me out to the parking lot and leave me there. I had to go to three different health care providers, and just gave up. I haven't worked for months and just lay on the couch nursing my leg and taking care of myself.
I've called the hospitals to make everything right. I've offered to pay what I owe by the month. But they don't know what to do about my insurance, they won't tell me how much I owe, and just wash their hands of the whole conversation. I mean, if I can't find out how much I owe and they won't take the money, what am I supposed to do?
Now that I know who these people are who are calling, the next time I'll make sure the girl records that conversation for her boss. He's going to know that I'm going to break everyone of his fingers with a hammer. Maybe that'll help to fix this situation. - harrythehat replies to Joe| 2 repliesJoe - It is "interesting" that you mentioned
"Obama Care"! That is the biggest SCAM
introduced to the citizens of our country by the most CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT President this country has ever elected!!!
People are just now realizing how BIG of a mistake that made by their "feel good" attitude when going to the polls to vote on this "country hating" man, just because he was "black"!
The sad part of it all is that there are many
competent, qualified and patriotic black individuals - male or female - that would be a
great asset to our country if they were to become
President. Now you "dumb-[***]" that elected this "degenerate" to run this country are just going to have to live with your "uneducated" vote. Good luck!!! - Lee replies to JoshThat statement is false! Look it up on the FTC website. If you contact them in writing and request they ceast and desist calling, by law they have to stop
- Ryan PaulStop calling this number.
- Carie| 1 replySome girl named Angela called and was RUDE RUDE RUDE. she would not identify her company, said she needed MY information first but would not say why or what it was in reference to. Kept saying, "Oh girl I HAVVVE your info, I'm just verifying". As if I'm going to give out my address and DOB to some random on the phone! She said she was following the LAW to not tell me why she needed it, and I asked if that would be the declaration of independence or what? I told her never to call me again. My credit score is in the 800's. I have no debt, much less "bad" debt needing to be collected. Sorry Angela, this isn't your day.
Thank you,

- KristiThey are a collection company... They don't leave messages because if they do, that is considered their "one call" for the day that they're allowed. If they keep calling and never leave a message they can "legally" keep calling and it's not technically harassment because you never (wink wink) knew it was them!

- ta replies to tina hardingGet the book, kill your cards. Its very easy to stop and sue debt collectors. You just have to know how to play the game.
- miss 800 replies to Cariewow
If you know anything about collections, the collector has to make sure she is talking to the correct person. i suggest your check your credit report MISS 800. if u owe a debit it will be on there.miss
1 - catinthehat replies to overwhelmedFirst you say u didn't get a bill. then you said you did. Bottom line sounds like you and your husband owe the bill. Pay them. Your and your husband don;t work for free. Neither do the doc's or hospitals. They have bills just like you.
- madhatter replies to CGSounds like you have more issues than owing a medical debit. If you had told her your were his wife she could of talked to u.
- grannie replies to Old Lady and Widowgrandma, If someone call my mother and ask for my number, she either give it to them or she would call me and tell me to take care of my personal business. This is why health insurance and health cost are so high. People like you and your daughter who don't pay their bills. And just because she has a family now doesn't dismiss her debits.
- Nikki| 1 replyI get a call from this number on my cell, and when I don't answer they call my work. I have asked that they not call my work but they keep calling. They did this for a while a few months ago and when I requested the bill for what it was they were calling me about, they sent me a bill for a hospital that went bankrupt before I was ever born. I think they are crooks trying to get personal information
- Alfalfa replies to NikkiThe next time they call, demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to send a cease communication letter instructing them your employer does not allow these calls at work and they are to contact you VIA USPS or at home only. Be sure to send it VIA certified mail and get a receipt. This is your right under the FDCPA. If they refuse, let them know you will be seeking legal counsel who will get the information for you and file a lawsuit against them for harassment.
