That's amazing detective work.  You might want to check another directory because it really is a collection agency.  There are plenty of lists that I have already found that identify this phone number.  If you don't think they are legit, call Direct or learn to spell "Phishing".

Everyday between 5pm & 8PM For the last week. WHAT THE F---!!!!!

Called several times.  I don't answer.  They don't leave a message.  I don't bother calling back.

Someone will sue the CBE Group and PREVAIL.

These bozos have 'seared consciences' and not a shred of compassion or humanity in their bones.

They're carnival-type workers who prey on innocent people who are oblivious to their tactics.

The CBE group collector 'assumed' that the family member he harrassed was 'protecting' the debtor when all along he had the WRONG NUMBER.

This went on for MONTHS.

When you 'search' CBE GROUP, lo and behold, you get tons of negative responses from these idiots.

They always sound like they come from the Bronx.

I mean WHO ELSE would do this kind of work?

Would you tell your children, 'Someday Johnny, I want you to be the CEO of a debt collection agency.' Of course not.

They're social losers who grew up watching horror movies and listening to K.I.S.S.

I thank the courageous people who run this site. It's awesome that we as a people can fight against the CBE GROUP.

Are all of you reallly serious.  First off I am pretty sure the cbe group knows what they are doing since the test on fdcpa on a regular basis.  Secondly it is not any type of harrasment as long as they are not calling you and talking to you more than once a day.  By talking to you I also mean you verifying your information.  Thirdly it is one of the most professional collection agencies in the country.  Finally dont be mad at them if you handled your outstanding debts in a timley manner then you wouldnt be getting calls anyways.  Take some responsibilities for your actions and quit complaining it isnt like cbe ran a bill up for a service for you....

Obviously, you're an employee of this company.  Your theory is VERY flawed.  I've had my number barely 1 month & they're calling..........all debts are CURRENT w/a +800 credit score!!

I've been wondering about this [***] myself, though I make it a self rule to not answer the phone unless it's from someone in my phone book, or a phone number I'm expecting a call from.

They continue to call my 12 year old daughters cell phone....12 years old!!  What kind of debt would a child that age have, I asked them if they had any other numbers in the system, of course they don't....

I have had the same thing 3 times...call them back, and "Oh we dont have that number in our system, must have been a mistake."

Dude are you serious lol.  I like that social loosers.  The funny thing is is that these people are hired by there client to collect money on a debt that you could not pay them.  The reason why they have to be hired is because the client does not have the special traning needed to convince a debtor to pay a bill.  If you also search the cbe group u would see that they got numerous praises from the house of ways and means commitee.

Did you ever think to tell them this is a wrong number or it is possible they were looking for someone with the same name. All you had to do was tell them.....

Lol no you don't. The CBE maybe calls you on an hourly basis but not in 30 min intervals. Also how many people do you think say they are going to pay the bill and they don't. How about everyone that types on this forum. If you intend to pay the bill set up a secure method then you wouldn't be getting calls. That is not harassment

Wow hoops that is a brilliant idea have the calls stopped. Lol probably not. The only reason why they ask you to verify your address is because if someone answered the phone and it wasn't you you wouldn't want your business put out on the street like that.

This number calls me all day and everyday. I have recieved a few messages which just have a pre-recorded message leaving a first name and a telephone number. I'm sorry but i dont call strangers that call from a number i dont recognize. I called the number back one day and got someone named Scott (no last name). I asked Scott what company I was calling and he persisted to ask who was calling. I hung up because i refuse to give my personal information to someone who wont tell me who they are. I have been reading the posts above about it being DirecTV. I did owe DirecTV some money and I called DirecTV personally to make arrangements and resolve the matter. They had cut off our services and everything. When i called them, DirecTV tried to look up my account info and told me that they had NO record of me ever having an account with them. So ok, I told them about the money i owed and i asked them what do i do now? They said I owed nothing and it was no problem we will set you up a new account. And they did. So now all of a sudden they decided to collect on the old account? DirecTV still has no record. I sure would like to pay them but I WILL NOT give money to anyone else. What the heck?

Reality Check,

How can u tell them that ur up to date on payments and have never had and never will have DirecTV if all u ever get are recordings?  I Do consider it harassment when they call early in the morning, throughout the day, into the night, weekdays, weekends (including Sundays), more than once a day. These people need to get a life and stop calling when they see they're not getting a response.  If ever there's a lawsuit that will put these a$$h0les out of business (or perhaps that will give out their personal home/cell numbers), I'll be the first to sign up.

So, reality check, not everyone here are deadbeats hiding from collection companies.  We're just people tired of being bothered with pain in the a$$e$.

Tell u what I did with them, I turned the tables with them and called them every half hour for two weeks straight and told them what I had been telling them every time they called me, ("I just want to let you know that I dont have any money to pay you now.") They seem to not like you calling them unless there is a payment involved!! LOL! Im not sure what kind of time you have on your hands but it was fun for me just to hear their frustration when it was me telling them that I didn't have the money to pay them just after tell them the same thing just 30 min's ago. They were not too pleased!! LOL!! And the call seemed to slow alittle. Like they say "When life gives you lemon's, Make lemonade !" Just have fun with it until you can get things straight!

They also have a few other numbers that they call from like 1-319-274-1910. I got a call from them today at 9:25 am., and they were about the same as everybody else is saying. Then they try to mix it up a little bit  by giving your call to someone else that also tells you the (same thing) that the last person told you. Like you didn't understand the first person you talked to! They are something else I tell you! Just cant think of what exactly to call them so I'll leave it at that!!!
