constantly call mostly early morning

Several calls a day, sometimes 2-3 times an hour.  Calls sometimes start as early as 8:00 AM.  Often nobody will be on the line when I pick up the phone.  One caller suddenly blurted out "This call may be monitored"; most likely a weak attempt at intimidation.  Disregarded numerous requests to stop calling.

No, they are not limited by the Do Not Call List, but they ARE limited by the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act!!! The Fair Debt Collection Act states that ANY collection agency that contacts you by phone HAS to send an itemized statement by mail within 5 business days. When you receive it, you have 30 days to respond. When you respond, by mail, either admitting to the bill or stating that the bill is wrong, you can then instruct them that, under the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act, you are taking this opportunity to instruct them as to when, IF EVER, they may contact you by phone. If they continue to contact you after that they can have their license permanently revoked, and the Feds WILL follow up on it !!! Also, for Reality Check, if you took 1/2 the time to really help people as you do berating them, you would be amazed at the feeling you get from being helpful.

I have told them..... Over and Over again and again they have the wrong number.  They are looking for a James and my name is Kim.....Claerly Not me  but they still keep calling.

You're forgetting about the one's that leave the messages on the voicemail stating "...if this is not (insert person's name) then hang up...".  This practice of "verifying" before disclosing is breaking the law.  What if it is a complete stranger, or even a family member - would you hang up?  I don't think so.  Think about it.

They have been calling us repeatedly everyday. And what is worse it is a direct tv bill for my stepdaughter who lives in Kentucky and we live in Tennessee. And I have told them that it is her bill and she doesn't live here. She hasn't lived here for over three years now. But it really boils down to dierct tv. They billed our stepdaughter in kentucky,sent to her every month, but put my husbands name on the bill and his TN phone number. And he had asked several times to take his name off the bill and put his daughters name instead. I mean it's her tv service not ours. So We just don't answer the phone when they call. They won't get money from us.

I keep getting calls on my cell phone from this number that states if I am not John _____ then hang up, I am NOT John ____ and when I try to call the number back, I get a message that the call cannot be completed. I have had my cell number for 2 months and started getting these calls several times a day various days and they leave voice mails on my phone - obviously it is a computer dialer - they need to figure out that cell numbers change periodically....

Report to the no call list people. They should deal with that.

I told them i was a Private I and was aware of the anti harrassment laws and that i recorded phone call and in my state i do not have to tell caller i am recording. I then told them very boldly they will not call again. I also told them they were not going to get a dime and i was going to be dealing with directv not them. Talk to a lawyer about your rights. And they cannot call past 8pm your time.

You are very wrong my friend. You sound like one of the harrassers. I refused to pay and that i was going to pay directv not them and for them not to call again. Plus i recorded each call and did not inform them i was doing so.

how can i report them for harassment? they call me every day at around 8am and every night twice around 9 and 10 pm. i'm tired of it! i never answer but I want it to stop. they never leave a message and i don't answer phone calls from people i don't know and i don't return calls to numbers that don't leave a message.

lol... yeah thats funny.. wait no its not... I have already paid my bill and they keep calling and hanging up on me when I answer then when I called them back and said you people keep calling and hanging up she said we are trying to reach (my name) at the address of ... and I said that is me.. she said I dont know why we are calling we had a collections acct and now it shows zero... so no they can tell you who they are and why they are calling..

I get calls from this # constantly. I tell them I am not home and then they proceed to ask if I am married if the husband is home, I will ask whose calling and they won't tell me, so I told them well I am not telling you if she's married or not! Very rude and the women was persistant on asking if I was married or not. They call extremly early as well.

This company just called me and asked for someone that I once knew in another state.  Of course I told them that I did not know the person, I mean they could have been anyone and I would hate for someone to give my personal business to random caller.  Very few people have our home number, it is very new .  So they had to do a lot of work to find us and try to make a connection.  They are probably calling everyone this poor guy ever worked for or knew.  So sad.  Then the operator started yelling at me when I started asking questions.  I then called them back and asked for details on who they were, to which I was told, "go look us up."  Just dumb people.
