They keep calling my house and hanging up on us! My mom is really sick and for them to keep disturbing us is a problem.

CBE Group Inc. calls almost every day, sometimes 2 times a day.  They let it ring 2 times and I can't get to the phone in time to answer it. Usually no one is there anyway.
It's been going on since I got this number in July. I'm on the do not call list, but can't talk with them to stop the calls and tell them I'm on the list.
I see a lot of complaints about this but have heard no replies of action. What's up with that????

My best friend receive calls from CBE Group at LEAST 2-9 times a day. He does NOT answer them and, WHEN they leave a voicemail, they will not say what they truly want and want me to call them back.

First of all, I have not received any kind of written correspondence from them stating what they are trying to collect on.  Secondly, they call my best friend trying to get me.  My question is HOW FREAKING STUPID ARE THESE PEOPLE?! If they wanted to get me to talk to them, they will need to send me written correspondence.  They have tried to brow beat me in the voicemails to call them "or else".  It's the economical version of "or I will hold my breath".  I don't get intimidated by these freaks.  There's not a damn thing they can do to me. If they don't state their business in voicemail or send me something in the mail, I'm not going to readily give them my SSN, credit card number, or any kind of personal information.  I was born in the morning, but it wasn't THIS morning!

They have been calling my home at 8am sharp for over a month. I have never had DirectTV, or medical bills, or any of the stuff they listed. It use to just ring 3 times and hang up. Really obnoxious at 8am on a SATURDAY!

Thanks to this post, whoever posted the link to them above, I called and they had "no record" of my phone number. Awesome, thanks for waking me up every morning fella for the last month for nothing. =)

They have called every single morning between 8 and 8:15am for the last month. Sometimes a woman leaves a message calling herself "Investigator Lewis" or some other such nonsense. This morning I answered and told them I have never had an account with this company, and that they obviously have the wrong person, and the woman on the other end called me a liar. I have never encountered this kind of harassment, and although they seem to be breaking all kinds of laws, I can't seem to find any resolution for this.

F.Y.I. The "DO NOT CALL REGISTRY" applies to telemarketers and not collections. I on the other hand due owe them some money due to me oving and not continuing service. However, when I moved I gave them a forwarding temporary address. I have recieved letters in regards to my debt. They looked up the forwarding address and got the phone number of the address and started calling these people in regards to my account.

I kept getting calls for a former resident at the home I now live at. I was also getting calls from other places, usually the "if your are so-and-so...etc"
I got in the habit of simply either answering the call, or calling back, and threatening to consult with my lawyer for a possible harassment suit.
To date I've gotten rid of all of them.  
Of course the worry is that you'll suddenly start finding calls on your bill that you did not make.  Usually you can call the phone company, list the calls and they will be taken off your bill.

They called the other day and looked up number. So I waited for them to call back I answer the phone Thank you for calling " my city name " non-911 ... How may I help you . LOL they paused for a min then asked for someone abd told them it was a crime to call and hold up this line. Guess What no more phone calls

they are a collection agency, the rep asked for "Sarah", so I put my wife on.
They told her that if she didn't pay the thousand dollars owed to DIRECT TV that they'd give it to a collection agency.
She informed them that we (the wife & I) don't subscribe to "DIRECT-TV" AND HUNG UP.

8:25 every morning and then several times through out the day. Sunday is no exception when it comes to the harassing calls.

Idiots call daily, let the phone ring twice and hang up.  It is extremely annoying.

What's your personal address as*hole. We'll all pay you a little visit for harrassing those who legitimately cancelled Directv, however, you keep at it.  You'll get yours soon enough.

A woman called at 2:35 pm  - asked if I was the named person --- then asked me to verify my address -- I would not - asked who was calling and why -- they said they would not tell me who was calling until I verified my address --- I would not then they asked me if the last 4 digits of my social were correct.  I hung up.  I recalled the number later --- had a conversation with a man -  he would not tell me who was calling except to say it as a like CBE --- wouldn't tell me what the letters stood for.  Said he would not tell me anything unless I verified my address and social.   I hung up again.

The same for me. They keep calling me even if I have paid all what is due to Direct TV. This company is unable to manage its collection process correctly.

I do not owe them a dime and they keep calling me to collect the equipment ?!!&!

Good luck if you are in the same situation as repetitive calls (10) to Direct TV has not solve the problem...

At 8:33am eastern time on March 25, 2009. I had a call from this very Obnoxious rude individual asking are you *. I want to speak to *. I ask who are you? He said in a very obeaing tone, I am Troy with the CBE Group. I said,I am she speaking. He said is your address, ***** etc. I want to know is your address ***** and is your last social security numbers ****. When he demanded to know my address and to confirm my social securtiy number, I said to him, really who are you and what do you want? But he insisted that I confirm this information, so I just hung up the phone and went to my computer to see the number that Verizon log in for all calls that are blocked for me. Yes their number was blocked as well. I could  not see it on the caller ID.

These people are a piece of work, do they really expect people to confirm personal information to them over the phone. Plus he called before 9:00am in the morning. I found out he was sent by DirecTV. Who has tried to charge me $400.00 for a service I cancelled after the first month.



Their connection blew out my 27 inch television that was 3 years old. I had called them repeatly prior to this for the frying nosie and no service at all on the other television or this one. The service would just go out in the middle of a program. After I called they wanted to charge me a fee for someone to come out to check the frying noise that was coming from the televions when I turned it on. I had become afraid to turn the television on because of the frying nosie. I was afraid it was going to catch afire. It had never fried before their connection and within a month the television just stop working all together. Totally no sound, no noise, screen totally black. I tried it in another location to see if the connection in that room ws the problem, but it was not. The television just up and quit after the frying from the connection on the wall. I then called Verizon, who provided me the package for DirecTv who asked had DirecTV people offered me the service plan in case something like this happen. I told them no, and this was the first time I had never heard of such a plan as this. Now DirecTv want to try and intimidate me by having this rude person to insist on my personal information over the phone. Do they really think I would release something like that to them over the phone to someone I have never heard of, and even if that was the case, they could be someone with idenity theft in mine. They need to smarted up as the children say.

They called me at 8.00 am on Saturday and when I answered, there was silence!

Really? Direct TV collections? I would have no earthly idea why they called me at 8:04 in the morning asking for my ex-husband who hasn't lived here in 8 years!

unwanted calls

I just traded in my change for gas money. I would love to pay them if I could(if they are really directv), but if I have to choose between food or paying a, frankly, erroneous bill, I have to choose food/rent/etc. I say erroneous because I always paid my bills, but my lease was up so I moved to a place closer to work to save gas. The new place charges 200$ to have satellite tv, so i told directv that, sorry, but I have to cancel service. It was 2 months before the contract ended(who makes you have a contract for TV anyways?). So now they was 400$ from me. are you kidding me? Do they think money is so easy to come by? I'll have to pay them sooner or later I suppose, but I just plain can't right now. So I never answer the phone. Ever.
