    Received a message on my cell phone stating there is a civil lawsuit with a retraining order on file and that I need to give the case # to my lawyer, Something about I am named a civil respondant and am summoned to court. They also addressed me by my maiden name which I have been married over 20 years and found that very odd. When I called the number back (336-283-0327) and pressed the option to speak to someone regarding the case, it just said your call cannot be completed at this time and it disconnected. This had me so worried. I am so glad I found out all this information-What losers! Hope they are caught!

    This is exactly the same phone message I got today.  The name they were trying to call was an ex step-daughter who was never connected to this phone number!  Is the FBI working on shutting this group down?

    Contacted me with a message on voice mail stating that we had 24 hours to contact them.  Also left a case number indicating that restraining order would be issued if we did not respond.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

    It's a scare tactic. Go to ftc.gov and read the FDCPA and learn your rights.

    I work for Money Mart, and I have received a lot of calls requesting me to look into whether or not they have an outstanding unpaid loan with our company. If you have any suspicions as to if you do or don't, our corporate collections phone number is 1-866-433-1001.
    This is a huge scam and they need to be stopped!

    Received a recorded voice message at my home number (in Arizona) identifying themselves as Global Litigation Group in Winston Salem, North Carolina, stating that I have been named as respondent in an Order to Show Cause and Restraining Order action filed by a young man I've known all his life (who also lives in Arizona, about 1.5 blocks from my home). Further, that I have 24 - 48 hours to call them back at 336-283-0327 or contact my attorney. The message cited a case number with the Civil Investigation Unit.   It has SCAM written all over it.
    I will track down their address and post it on this site - everyone who has received calls from them need to write a letter instructing them not to contact them again.  Keep a copy of your letter, file a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General with a copy of your letter attached.
    (What these idiots don't know is that I've spent my life working in the legal field.)

    I hope that they catch these criminals!  I was so upset when I first received a voice message and called back to find out more details on this matter.  The people are extremely nasty and were not professional at all.  I actually believed this whole thing until I had other people call this company multiple times to try and find out more information. Eventually one representative with this bogus company lashed out and said some ridiculous uncensored things which brought me to the conclusion that this was a SCAM!

    I have just received a call from a company called Global Litigation Group, in North Carolina, from telephone number 336-283-0327 with a recording stating there's some type of litigation filed against me and that there's a restraining order attached to it. The recording gave a file number but when I tried calling back multiple times I was unable to get a person on the phone. It just said the call could not go through at the moment. I google search Global Litigation Group and apparently there is one in California and another in Winston Salem, NC, but other than that, all I found are complaints about these calls. The voice  stated that there is a restraining order and that I or my attorney must call back and are required to appear in court.

    What is this all about???
