First off let me tell you that I have found some interesting things out today.  My wife to be was going to interview with DealerStaff about working in their Graham, NC office.  Well we got to doing some research on this company and the basis of operation.  I have Google"d" and Yahoo"d" this company for hours and found many interesting things.  The starting line of this post is from a July 28th, 2008 zoning meeting in Burlington.  At which meeting Mr. Selfors bosted that he purchased his home for $400,000.00 and the City of Burlington should respect his investment and not annex his home.  So I have his address and went by to see this house, humm quite nice I would say. But then being the strong advocate of honesty that I am I looked a little deeper and pulled up the public tax record for this property and found that in the last few years they have owned roughly 6 or more cars.  When I drove by the Selfors home one evening I noticed that looked like none of the cars they have paid taxes on were parked at their home...Funny, eh?


Oh and yes you can access their tax information by going to the Alamance County web site and search the GIS Mappings and you'll find all the same information I have.  

So here is my proposal to this company and to all the people who have been effected by the Selfors poor actions...

I will be calling several media outlets tomorrow morning and blowing this whole thing out into the open.  I suggest that you who have been effected by this wonderful little scam to unite together and take everything these people have.  


Oh yes I know I may look like a chicken now but I'm not done yet just wait...I am sick and tired of people taking advantage of others!  I am sick and tired of people who are scared to work hard and honest for the things they have!  I am sick and tired of turning on the news and hearing about some SOB that has screwed somebody else out their money.  I am sick and tired of waking up thinking, "Humm, I wonder if someone will try and  scam me today?"  I am sick and tired of things just like this.  

And you now may be asking yourself, "What gives this guy the right to complain about this?"  Well I'll tell you what gives me the right, I have come from a family with nothing...and by nothing I mean NOTHING, my parents didn't have what they gave me and my brother.  But with a little hard honest work I have so much more then I feel I should have.

And so to the Selfors, I am making this my personal side project to find a way to shut down your company and help those who have been cheated by you...

Many people have been discouraged or even outraged by the actions of DealerSTAFF, such as the previous poster.  However, making it someones personal project to have the company shut down is a little childish and frankly kind of sad.  You may disagree with the actions of the Selfors and the type of business that they run, but trying to hurt them hurts many more people than you may imagine.  I worked for DealerStaff for nearly five months, and yes, it was clear that not everything was as it seemed to be. I am a huge proponent of honesty throughout all aspects of life, but the fact of the matter is most businesses thrive on DISHONESTY.  Just because dealerstaff is doing a terrible job at hiding it doesnt mean you should devote your time to ruining more peoples lives than just the Selfors. The DealerStaff office in Graham employs around 20 people, and they are not guilty of ANYTHING.  They do as they are told and are paid quite well for doing so.  Some of them are not the smartest, and many others are blinded by gullability or by the charisma and hope provided by the Selfors', while others keep their mouths shut because they are scared of losing their jobs.  Nonetheless, the people who work there are incredible, beautiful people.  Just because they are working for a scam does not make them scammers as well. THIS IS GRAHAM, NORTH CAROLINA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD--, an economically depraved area with few opportunities for decent employment.  The women (at my time of employment the entire office was comprised of females) who work there are some of the sweetest, most endearing individuals you would ever meet.  They are not out to steal anyones money, they are single mothers, low-income family members, and hard-working students who work their butts off just to get by--DealerStaff pays around $500 a week, offers incredbile bonus incentives, and provides for unlimited overtime--this is a job that hardly any of these women can afford to lose.  It is providing the basics of life that their children and families would otherwise be denied.  When you start working their, everything seems great and in order, and by the time you realize it's mostly [***], you cannot deny providing your children with a better life because of the potential fraudulency of the administration.  To be honest with you, sometimes I doubted Rob and Cana even understood that what they were doing was wrong--even though it clearly was.  They have become so encaptivated and consumed by their "work" that they honestly believe they are a legitimate staffing agency that grants opportunities to people who have nowhere else to turn.  
The fact of the matter is, if it seems to good to be true, it ALWAYS is. If you answer an ad on the internet that is unimaginably vague, offers insane pay for no experience, and directly appeals to the desperate--and then continue to be drug throughout the dealerstaff process- YOU ARE A DUMBASS.  You deserve your time to be wasted by the company.  Get off your butt and hunt for the job yourself.  You cannot expect some mystery agency to solve your employment dillema if you want a job quickly and honestly.  Call it Stockholm syndrome if you will, but speaking with the people who saught jobs through us made me lose faith in the once enterprising spirit of americans.  
To conclude, do what you will, but its going to be a waste of your time and it will jeopardize the livelihood of innocent, amazing people who work the company.  DealerStaff will have lawyers that are worth more than your soul, and frankly Cana will probably be excited by the opportunity to display her power and waste your time, too.

Think Before Acting...I'm not in to hurt those that work there, I'm not in for myself.  And to make this my little side project isn't sick and sad.  Wouldn't you be upset if someone scammed money from you or someone you know.  What if that was your mother or father or wife or husband or whatever that this has happened to?  And by the way, the people who work for DealerStaff could very well get prosecuted as well for involvement in this company.  Yeah, yeah, yeah DealerStaff has a lawyer, WOW!  I have one as well. And I bet you this mine is better then hers. And for her lawyer to be worth more then my soul...You have no sense of compassion as you tried to display throughout your whole post.  That is so sad.  Cana has power?  How so? Please explain what power she has, because the way I see it, she isn't a cop, she isn't a judge, she isn't a senator, and she isn't the President, she's an owner of a business that employs 20 people or so in Graham, NC.  How is this a powerful position?  Is she sleeping with the Graham City Council?  Well enough is enough for the morning.  

Final comment, for all of you who work for the company now.  If you loose your job over this, I'm sorry.  I understand that you have children or need the work to pay for this and that. But I can promise you one thing, there will be another chance to work a great job and still make ends meet.

Geez, I just can't stop this morning.  NO not all companies thrive on DISHONESTY.  If that were the case, half of them would be in the same [***] pot that DealerStaff is finding itself in.  And you are worried about the people that work for DealerStaff, what about the people who spend their last little bit of money to make this interview and get this training?  They are the ones really effected, and there is nothing wrong with these people thinking they are going to have a job at the end of this, because that's usually how a Staffing agency works!  They find you a job and place you there because the company needs a worker.  Good lord you are really sad...

I was told there was some online training first, the results will be sent to the dealership..no cost to me.  Anybody else?

First off, we did not make $500 a week, we were lucky to get between 250-3 and thats with 40 plus hours.  Believe me they can find other jobs that would make them happier, and show more respect towards them.

To the "patron".  I can honestly say that you do not completely comprehend the DealerStaff Process and you are basing your most recent assumptions on outdated information.  Yes, previously the training was not free. However, now the process itself is truly free.  The interview is free, the training is now free- it is online-- placement at the dealership is free.  For the first few months at the dealership a portion of your comission--if you have one--goes back to dealerstaff.  The only dishonest thing is that you are not guaranteed the job once you get sent to the dealership, but whose fault is that?  If you show up at a dealership and get rejected it was because you were either unprofessional or ended up showing no potential at all.  There is only so much dealerstaff can gather over the phone with you, they are a staffing agency, not miracle workers.
If you started your little campaign against dealerstaff a few months ago, it would be much more justifiable; now however, their practices are more deceiving than fradulant.  If you care so much about the disenfranchised, drive down any street in Burlington or Graham and give a dollar to one of our county's 300 homeless citizens instead of worrying about the thousands of people who have enough money to afford internet access and apply for obviously fake jobs through dealerstaff.

Well, the more and more I see about this company the more and more I just can't stand to see it continue to operate.  So explain to me why should I back down now?  I see no reason to.  Why should we let people get away with operating a business in an extremely unfair and poor fashion just because they are now "operating it a much more honest way".  As for giving money to the homeless, I've done my part for those people as well.  I will continue to do my part so why don't you help out too.  I'm sure we would all love to see you working for Habitat for Humminty.  Working the local men's shelter, give instruction for free at local community colleges to help those who can't afford it but want that instruction so that they may better themselves.  Or how about working at shelters and teaching those people how to operate a computer and write a resume so that they can apply for job and become self-sufficent again.  I think I'm doing my part, do I feel it's enough, not always, but then again I feel I'm doing more then most others would do.

Lady named Casey, called and when called back it went to her voicemail, she returned the call and didn't leave any additional info....I think it is a scam!!!!!!!!!!

So, this anti DealerStaff media campaign seems to be going really well.  It's all over the news.  Oh, wait...

How dare you assume I have not done my part just because I took up for DealerStaff.  I have designed an award-winning scholarship program for low-income, aspiring entrepreneurs in rural areas.  I have worked every summer for the last six years with habitat in three different nations.  I have worked on four separate year-long campaigns for the homeless in 2 different states.  I have logged over 300 hours of volunteer work specifically dedicated to helping recovering drug-addicts transition into the work force again within the last calendar year.  I mentor at-risk students in helping them make appropriate post-secondary decisions.  I have served as an ambassador to my city council as the seat for community programming and volunteerism. I am working on founding a malaria-prevention and awareness campaign for three sub-saharan African nations in conjunction with several representatives from the United Nations world health organization, and have received presidential recognition for my contributions to rural education. I support using time to improve the welfare of others, not play petty games that may have no result with "big, bad business".  Teach your free little community college classes and continue your vendetta against DealerSTAFF, and while your at it--get a life.

I am enjoying this so much....the way they treat people is not right at all, & things that Cana has said to many people will come back to haunt her one day.

Well, I sure am glad that I came upon all this talk of DealerSTAFF, as I knew it seemed a little fishy. But at the same time, since the training online was free as promised, I think I'll just complete it and then just go straight to some dealerships myself and try to get hired.

whoever it is DEFENDING Dealerstaff, reveal yourself. If it's a company you're so passionate about, prove it. No Graham isn't the best city to find a career, but Dealerstaff? You can find better at your local Wal Mart. $500 a week? [***]. If you make $250, you're lucky. Oh and if you get overtime, you're going to hear about it from Cana how you're not doing something to her standards. Excellent incentives? You know why these girls are so persistent to get in touch with you? They get paid if you're a good candidate for a car dealership. Meaning if you are given a phone interview, and are in their gray/white box areas - you're a yes, they're given a rate of 7 an hour plus 2 bucks every sucker they get. To be a YES, you can't sound ghetto - have any charges against you the past 8-10 years - have your own car - never had a dui - never been a car dealership manager before cuz you could make your own company off the idea - no visible tats or piercings. I do think its a bit childish to intend to shut the company down, the owners will reap what they sow. What goes around comes around. As far as those of you that are interested in getting a job at Dealerstaff or being a sales associate at a dealership, read what has been posted on this website as well as others. Good luck to you in your jobsearch but open your options to other companies than Dealerstaff. I used to get so frustrated when people would be rude and hang up on me while I performed my script. Now I understand clearly. Their is no point in working through Dealerstaff when you can go to a dealership directly. Think about it, you can interview at a dealership yourself and get thru with training before you begin the free online training. Rob and Cana are in debt, which is why they have resorted to phone interviews. Ask the rep from Dealerstaff what the difference is going thru a dealership than going thru them. You'll get a "um.." answer. You're wasting your time, also most dealerships WILL NOT hire you if they know you are from Dealerstaff.

I forgot to add, nobody cares about what experience you have selling cars or any experience at all as long as your in the shaded areas. If you sold cars prior to Dealerstaff, it doesnt' matter. As long as you weren't a manager, because Rob fears you will make your own company to compete with his. The girls don't ask a lot of questions, they ask what their made to ask. It doesn't matter if you've never held a job before or if you were a professor at a university. None of this information goes to a dealership, and definitely not Cana. Ever notice they don't ask for a contact name - number - address? Don't waste your time.

Since when did community college become free? Oh shoot I need to go register. Are we holier than thou? During my time at Dealerstaff, none of the people who had enough intelligence to do any of those many titles you claim to hold, had any goals or ambition. Its not about having a life, aparently you don't either, its' about doing whats right and saving people a lot of trouble. If Dealerstaff was legit, why is the turnover rate so high? Why do so many interested applicants hang up? Why aren't applications and resumes printed out? No application or resume is ever printed out. Why is that? YOu mind explaining that genius?

I worked at DealerSTAFF as a summer job and today was my last day. I've read through the posts on this website mainly as a source of entertainment throughout my time at DealerSTAFF, and I figure now is my time to contribute.  First of all, whoever is saying you can get paid better at Wal-Mart is sorely mistaken.  If you are persistent on the phones and can work overtime, the pay is pretty impressive considering you sit on your butt for 10 hours a day--for doing just that I was making over $700 a week (before taxes) with the new pay plan. And yes, the DealerSTAFF process may seem shady, but it is not an outright scam.  All I have to say is READ THE FINE PRINT.  On the bottom of every ad on CareerBuilder,etc.  there is a disclaimer that fully details the DealerSTAFF process.  If you are too stupid to read what you are signing up for, then you don't deserve a job in the first place.  As for the people that do call in, it is a fact that we can't approve people who sound ghetto.  At first I was conflicted with this, but then I realized--would you buy a car from someone who sounds like they struggled to complete 3rd grade?  would you ever hire someone for your business if they couldn't carry on a simple conversation? NO.  Sometimes they went a little too far with who they denied, don't doubt that, but most of the time I hate to say it was justified. The people who are smart enough to find a job on their own drop out of the process on their own accords.  The people who are desperate enough and need the aide of a staffing agency tend to be the ones who stick with the system from beginning to end--and after talking to some of them on the phone it is safe to say DealerSTAFF would be one of the few companies to even give them the time of day. Even though at first I was morally troubled by what seemed to be dishonest practices, I soon realized that DealerSTAFF is legitimate, just maybe not as forward as it should be.  If you sound professional we will try our best to place you at a job.  It is as simple as that.  If you sound like your hobbies include dealing drugs and/or prostitution, I am sorry but we, nor will anyone else, waste time on you.  The interview is free, the training is free, meeting the dealer is free.  If DealerSTAFF was this elaborate scam that so many make it out to be, don't you think they would charge you every step of the way? If you need a job that bad, go and try to find it yourself instead of relying on someone else to do it for you, and you wouldn't have to worry about it at all. To all of those who want to hurt DealerSTAFF, consider some of the previous posts.  The employees there are doing nothing wrong--they are incredible people and I became close to quite a few and will never forget them.  After hearing their stories and looking at pictures of their families, doing something that may close DealerSTAFF is far more hurtful than anything the company itself has ever done.
