I have reason to believe this Fraud is originating from a person in law enforcement working in Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Florida.
- TheRealSeriously replies to fraud coming from Law Enforcemnt? And just HOW do you know this? You make a post that in a court of law would be considered HEARSAY as you have no PROOF of what you are CLAIMING!
- Jenn| 1 replyI had a charge on my visa/debit card for $230 to PP* CIHIA OE Boise, ID. That's all the info I have. I called my bank immediately. I did not authorize that transaction. The guy from the bank tried looking up the origin of the transaction but couldn't find anything. So we filed a fraudulent claim and shut down my card. I had to get a new card with a different number. Please beware of this.
- AGat replies to Jenithey used a card that i don't have on pp, so its not about pp. these people got cc #s somewhere else.
- Concerned replies to JennThis also just happened to me on my debit card. Someone stole my debit card. I know the last time I had it was near BSU on 3/21.
- peggy ricks| 1 replyI got a charge at my bank for $169. Didn't find it as my bank was going through changes and couldn't download quicken so easily at the time. This is what it looks like: PP*BEEHIVE LLC DDA PUR PP*BEEHIVE 402-935-2244 AZ~
- BigA replies to peggy ricksI am not sure why I have to keep saying this. File a fraud dispute with the bank. You have a limited amount of time to do that, usually 60 days from the transaction.

- PatTwo charges on our Discover card. One for $240 and the other for $200. Had a PP in front of the company names, JKNI EDWS and CO LA, then the phone number 402-935-2244. One was for a health practitioner and the other for catering service. Discover issued us a new number and credited us for the $440.

- RonKERIK CAFE 04029352244, $85.00 taken from wife's debit card April 19.
- WGot a charge from PP*SA ZO for $248. I think I know what's going on here. So PayPal has a service called "PayPal Here"...it's similar to Square in that it lets people/businesses have a transaction system for pretty low cost. Some smaller businesses use this app and iPad swipers to get your card info when you make a transaction with them. So there ARE legit businesses using this paypal service where the charge will show up as PP*(businessname). Someone earlier in the thread mentioned they had a charge from a coffee shop that had PP in the title. That would be legit. They are using the Paypal Here service for legitimate business transactions.
The problem is, if you get your card info stolen, it appears that people are abusing the PayPal Here service to steal money. I'm guessing card numbers get skimmed and people take the info and make fake cards with your number on them and then swipe them into their PayPal Here app account to charge your card.
Now why every number shows up as 4029352244 is still a question. PayPal's headquarters are located outside of Omaha, NE (area code 402) and I'm guessing that transactions must have a phone number attached to them. So the PayPal Here service attaches this 935-2244 number to every one of their transactions.
Long story short...people are using skimmed numbers and abusing PayPal's small business transaction system "PayPal Here" to steal money from people under fake business names. I try and wiggle CC machines and gas station terminals to make sure there's no skimmer attached, but obviously my info got stolen somewhere. Possibly a restaurant where the card was out of my possession.- Caller: PP*SA ZO
- Brandon| 1 reply04/11/2016 PAYPAL *GEEKDEAL $289.99 (402-935-2244). How are they still getting away with this?
- Caller: 402-935-2244
- W replies to BrandonIt's not just one person. If you read my post above yours, it says that I *think* that the phone number is attached to ALL Paypal Here transactions. The Paypal Here service is probably easy to exploit with stolen card numbers.
- IrritatedReceived Fraudulent charges on my Wells Fargo credit card for $235. Before this charge I had used my card in San Antonio Texas. The charge was listed as manually entered on PayPal in Illinois. Wells is investigating.
