They keep calling my cell phone

yet another number I dont know calling.  I didnt answer it considering I dont know anyone in NE...I"m getting really tired of these calls to my cell.

I never ask to be taken off a list because I don't believe it works. I have found three partial solutions:

1. Go ahead and talk to them, and find a reason to put them on "hold", i.e,. "Oh yea, my wife has a check made out for you. Hold on while I get it and will write down your address..." or, "Hold on just a second while I turn off the stove..."  I had one guy stay on the line for 3 minutes! This almost always keeps them from calling back. They keep notes.

2. The other way, at least with a cell or virtual (computer) phone, is to maintain a list of numbers which are only sent to voice mail or hang-up -- whatever features your phone offers.

3. At least for mobile phone, you can call the carrier and they will place a block on numbers. Caller hears that no one available to take the call.

Some numbers are tell-tale frauds. They seem to end in unusual combinations: 4444, 1155, 8888, 5700, 2552, 5155, 0500, 3884, 0670, 9030, 9006, 8860. Some area codes are fraudulent. You can purchase software which allows you to output any caller id you choose, so calling back may lead to nowhere or a wrong number.

I received a call from this number today, 8-31-2011. I did not answer, they did not leave a message.

They called say some kind of company, than I ask them again, they say they are citibank,
and they ask me on Aug 31 if I went to Citibank 23th st location, I say no, and why?
they say it's just regular check out. then hand up.

I call back to Citibank to confirm if any one calling from Citibank ask me those wired questions.
they said this number is not from Citibank, wants me to report to them next time when this number call again.

I'm listed on the do not call registry, yet I get calls from this number several times a week to my cell phone.

I have a phone to communicate with those I wish to communicate With!
Just because you have my number does not mean you haves right to talk to me.
So I block all calls not in  my address book.

I am on the "do not call" list, but I still get calls like this almost every day.  I tell them, if I get a live body, that the person they are looking for committed suicide, and I am just helping with the estate.

Why would a polling place call me numerous times when there are a million other numbers out there to poll? It makes more sense that this is a collection agency disguised as a polling agency. Just like the collectors that disguise themselves as a lawfirm.  Answer the call and say nothing. Run up their phone bill with voiceless calls. Maybe then they will stop calling.

Called Monday at 5:24pm, showed “Gallop Poll“, no measage.

Called at nearly 8:00 in the evening! Private cell #.

Called Tuesday at 8:51 pm, showed “Gallop Poll“, no measage.

They keep calling my cell number.

calls here very loud and annoying..called the first time with a unknown name-unknown number it is the Gallup poll.but calling this late at night?no..that ain't happening...

They are bill collectors!!!!!!!!!
