Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru.
But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.

It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!

I've often thought this message board is controlled by the Bill COLLECTORS to deflect the real entity behind the calls.

About time someone caught on.  These calls are actually originating from BILL Collectors hiding behind fake caller-id's.

Your bank did not give your number out. They have a program that dials numbers in sequence. If you answer it connects to the first available operator. It's just dumb luck you just left your bank.

That is because Bill Collectors do not fall under the Do Not Call rules.... they are exempt

I believe you got it right. As long as you have no relationship with a company, they cannot call; but once you, wittingly or not, create a relationship, they are allowed to call. I heard somewhere that you need to regularly re-up on the do not call list, but I can't remember the frequency.

Keep getting calls from 402-952-4444. When I pick up to answer they hang up on their end. How can they be stopped?

To the person asking about hospital surveys: The only hospital survey I've ever received was done by Press-Ganey...and it was mailed to me along with a return envelope.

I'm not a telemarketer or cold calling company employee, but I would feel lucky to have one of those j-o-b-s since I have been unemployed since 06/28/2010. It may not be your cup of tea, and yes, very annoying, but it's someone's financial means from keeping them homeless.

You do have rights, primarly don't give out your cell phone, even if it's the only phone you have. If you release it, you did it to yourself.

It reminds me of a booth the BBB had at the Tulsa State Fair some 8-9 years ago were they were "giving away a dream vacation/car/$50K" and you just had to fill out one of the cards. One would provide contact name, address, phone numbers, email addresses in hopes of winning the prize. There was 2 lines at the bottom that needed to be checked off, one being very important. It was in fine print with alot of jargon about the drawing, but it said that you had to agree that your information could be used in any way, including selling it. Now, a vast majority of the attendees signed up for drawing. And truth be told, the BBB was shredding all of the entries every day, but it was great to see the people's reactions when they were told what they had agreed to.

Stop calling me!! I am on the no call list and don't appreciate you wasting my minutes!!!!!

I just receive a call from a Karen from this number.  She told me that she is with Gallop and was calling on behalf of Citibank regarding services that I had received.  I told her to remove my number from their database and that I do not want any third parties calling my phone.  I am sure that I did not authorize Citibank to provide my information to third parties.

Unsolicited call on my cell phone. The caller claimed to be preforming GALLOP Poll survey regarding my account with the with my bank. "Not appreciated" I have other things to do. My Bank knows my history.
