This message if for you, if you have answered a call from Gallup in the following ways:
    1) [***] THE GALLUP POLL *click*
    2) repeating expletives until the caller hangs up
    3) I don't have time! *click*
    4) Why do you keep calling me?!! *click*
    5) This could be a SCAM for all I know! *click*
    etc.

If you want them to stop calling, tell them "please list me as a "HARD REFUSAL" for this survey. If you receive another call from the "Daily Gallup Poll," simply tell them (politely) that you told the last person to list you as a HARD REFUSAL, and that you do not wish to be contacted again. If you have a problem again, ask for the phone interviewer's employee ID number, ask for gallup's toll free number (or google the corporate number), and explain that you asked this interviewer to mark you as a hard refusal and you want to make sure they did it.

I know people who will code you for a call back if you are rude, even if you say "DONT CALL ME ON A SUNDAY AGAIN [***]". You need to be polite and explain that you want a Hard Refusal coded for your number. That's your best bet.

Also, saying "It's Sunday, why are you calling me?" means nothing. In case you didn't know, America was not founded on Christianity. (google it if you don't believe me.) Sorry, but your "Sunday" doesn't mean [***] to a non-religious company. Do you get mad when McDonalds is open on sunday? Nope. You get your eggmcmuffin after church don't you? Yeah, I thought so.

If you are mad they called your cell phone because you have minutes, or for any reason, tell them to code you as a "Refusal due to cell phone contact." This should keep your number from being called during this Gallup Poll's study period, and I believe for future calls.
"Why are you calling my cell phone?"
"Because, ma'am/sir, our computer RANDOMLY generates numbers for our gallup poll, we don't know who we will contact, whether it be a landline, cell number, or even a disconnected number."
And if you use minutes for your phone, why did you answer it in the first place if you are so protective of your minutes? Shouldn't you only answer if you know the number then?

If you say "YOU CALLED ME YESTERDAY I TOLD YOU NO," Guess what, you probably didnt speak with that particular interviewer you are freaking out on. Don't blame them for the last interviewer coding you incorrectly... Or maybe the last person didnt code you incorrectly? If you didn't tell them "please put me as a hard refusal," you will probably get a call back. Grats.

Gallup interviewers are trained to only code a hard refusal if someone asks for it. Otherwise, you will be coded as a SOFT refusal - meaning that you will get called back again near the end of 30 days, or that survey's study period. Or, even better, you will be coded as "Bad time, call back again later" - in which you will probably be called back in 24-48 hours.

And for those pesky bank surveys, guess what! You gave your number to your bank, who has contracted Gallup to do their customer service interviews. It's not a scam, dippies. Gallup interviewers don't ask for personal information or account info, they have nothing but your name, phone number, and the name of the branch & day you may have visited, or if you called the bank's call center, they will have your name, phone number, and the day you may have called as well as the first name of the person you may have spoken with. It's a 3 minute survey - unless you think they work for Wells Fargo/USBank/ Regions bank, in which case you might [***] to them about your problems with your bank for up to 10 minutes. Gallup interviewers cant help you with your stolen credit card or service fees, so don't bother asking. Answer all 5s or 4s and you will be off the phone in no time. Answer with a 3 and you will get a bonus question usually along the lines of "what could have been done to increase your satisfaction?"

Gallup interviewers are not the ones to take your rage out on. Call up corporate Gallup if you have a real problem with receiving too many calls. If you experience someone rude or think they aren't really with gallup, ask for their employee ID number (it's only 5 digits), and complain to corporate or call to verify they are an employee. Most of these interviewers are kids in college or struggling to find a job. Thanks, economy! What's the value of a college degree? nothing.

All it takes is a little patience, politeness, and not being a total [***] and you won't have anymore problems with Gallup.

I got a call from this # and the caller knew which bank I am with and which branch I last used services at. I contacted my bank who told me that this company is a survey company (Company name is Gallup Poll...very misleading to say the least) for almost every bank in the USA and the bank gives them the information. To be taken off of their call registry you must contact your own bank and request that you be taken off of the Bank's list of call or mail surveys otherwise the next time you come up the bank will once again submit your info to them and they will call you because they are given the info from the bank and not their own database system where they could remove you themselves.

after 'updating' my contact information with wells fargo, these calls started within 3 days.  daily calls, some listing caller id as gallup organization, some as unknown caller.  persistant criminals in flagrant disregard to dnc laws.  filing complaint with ftc/dnc requesting criminal probe, and going to close the wells fargo acct and tell them since they don't respect privacy, they can bank with hell.

Wait a few years.  With age comes infirmity.  Medical issues which you may not fully understand now may one day become your own.  At that point I can promise that you shall remember the EXACT incidences where you poked fun of or berated a person whose body just doesn't work as it did at an earlier age.  Illness and disability are not as simple concepts as you seem to view them.  Here's hoping that you never suffer any ailment that limits your mobility or cognition.

umm ever think to answer your phone to see what it is. Just because someone is calling you that you dont know does not mean its a Sells Call.  Good luck on your reporting too. It will take you longer to do that than it would to just do the poll

I don't have an account with Wells Fargo nor do I have any credit. I don't have bad credit and I don't have good credit. I am what they call a ghost in the credit world. So this why I' wondering how and why this number is continuously calling me. Sometimes up to 8 times a day. I don't answer because I don't answer numbers that I don't know. This is really paying off though and I would love to know how to make it stop. Oh and yes I am on the No Call List. I called and also registered online. I'm almost wondering if maybe that is a scam. I didn't start getting telemarketer calls til I did registered. Hmmmm.

First off if your comoany does business with PNC, then it isnt un reasonable for PNC to try to get some feedback from your business in order to improve on the service they provide. The way they choose to do that is thier choice. Second as an employee in the field I can tell you that PNC only gives certain information to Gallup, to include the name of the business, the branch visited and a generic time frame of the last 7-10 days. This is all the information the gallup interviewer gets. They do not get a name of the person who made the transaction, what type of transaction it is or the exact date. This is to protect PNC consumers from having thier information out there. Some Gallup employees do not verify that the number they called is still with the business title they have first before asking for the person who handles the account so it is possible to call a wrong number. Unless you intedtify yourself as a person in charge telling the interviewer to call back isnt going to accomplish anything, that decision is for the manager and since you say "my employer" never banked with PNC you may not actually be in the know and not be qualified to tell them to never call back. That is a decison between the manager and the interviewer of the manager and PNC bank.

Misbluecat, this isnt a scam. Gallup is an polling company and contracts with many large banks in the country to do customer service follow ups. They Do NOT have any private info in these cases, all they get is your name branch visited and with some banks a date of visit and with others a time frame of visit, such as sometime in the  last 7-10 days. They also do work For HCA, Bon Secours and other hospital systems rating outpatient visits, ER visits, and a Nationally mandated In patient visit survey. They also do poilitical and well being polling. Since it isnt a sales call it isnt subject to the do not call lists. If its a bank survey, simply tell your bank to remove your name from thier marketing lists they provide to gallup and if its a political or well being survey ask for a hard refusal or if its for a hospital stay politely refuse. OR just not answer the phone.
