I have several calls from 402-952-4444.... no one has said anything till today... the call was on my cell phone.. all the man said was my name and then the phone went dead... I hate for anyone to call my cell phone that doesn't allow me to know who's calling..... I have  several calls a week from this number.  I don't answer it usually.. but I did today @ 4:15 pm EDT ..I would like very much for this to stop.

call DENISE AT   415 844 0300 I looked up Gallup corporate and she answered the phone "i will take you off the list" ...Im sure if we all bug THEM  enough they will quit.

tired of phone calls from this number.  stop it!

i got an unwanted call from this number and want it to stop.

I don't want them to call me again.  I can't seem to stop their calls and they are on my no call list.

Unfortunately, I told them to take me off list, as I was on federal Do Not Call list, and the caller said he didn't have to ... and that it was in regards to my daughter's Wells Fargo account.  But the caller ID said Gallup Poll, and if it was a true 'poll' it wouldn't have to take off list.

Did it know my daughter had a WF account, or did it just guess?  I can't imagine that Gallup Poll would have that information, so not clear that this is legit poll ...

In any event, don't answer, and don't give out info to this ... looks like scam to me.

Sorry, but I strongly advise NOT responding to these calls. No guarantee that they are legit, and in any event, participating in these only gives false impression to any legit business.

Only encourages telemarket schemes, and there are other legit ways of doing this kind of survey - your bank can ask you directly, via mail or when you actually bank there.

Well, it should be sacred.  And there is no 'right' to call someone - however there is a right not to be bothered.  As recognized with Do Not Call laws.  

And when the caller says he isn't going to put you on Do Not Call internal list, that's scary.

Since when does someone have the gall, much less the 'right' to harass us with calls?

If I want to deal with a business, I initiate the call, or visit, not the other way around.

You don't really know who is calling, given widespread spoofing of numbers.

Just don't respond ... I'm reporting to fed DNC, as it appears to be scam ...

Sorry - simply not true.  I asked to be on their internal DNC - I'm already on federal one - and I was told he was NOT going to put me on list!

And you DON'T know whether it is legit or not, simply by calling number back.  Plenty of info on this on various websites - numbers can be spoofed, and they employ receptiion to pretend to be legit.

Do not give them any info - they simply put you on 'sucker list' and have just validated your phone number.

You must be joking - reading an entire contract, either online or hardcopy - just try reading small print, in middle of extensive, multipage technical document.

I'm a lawyer, and I do try to read entire contract, but it is very difficult, and I have come across other lawyers who don't understand entire contract.  Almost impossible for lay person to fully comprehend.  Especially if in small print, and difficult to opt out of any provision.

No this not 'part of owning a phone.' Thats why we have Do Not Call laws.  Thats like saying scams, fraud, assaults, murders, etc., are just 'part of living in today's world.'  Sure, all those things happen, but that doesn't make it OK.

You simply don't have any way of knowing that these calls are legit.

One, spoofing is widespread, so caller ID isn't guarantee.

Two, plenty of people pretend to be legit - here, the phone caller claimed he was from Wells Fargo, but the caller ID said Gallup Poll.  So who is he really, and whom does he represent.  Other comments note that other reps say they are from some business, even tho' caller ID says Poll.  So which is it?

Third, simply calling back number doesn't guarantee legit - plenty of scams have that number and simply pretend to be legit.

these are not legit calls - they misrepresent that they are calling from some company - in my case Wells Fargo, and altho' I asked to be put on Do Not Call internal list, caller told me point blank that he wasn't going to.

Nobody's forced to do this job.  

And there is no guarantee that this is legit.

Baloney - plenty of legit ways to get survey info - I respond to mailed surveys, and via web.  Simply no need to interrupt people with phone call, and invade home privacy.

No need to telephone, and no need for anyone to take this kind of job.

Actually political polls and charity events are exempt from the National Do Not Call law.
