I live in Windsor On Canada, and Mr Strampher has tried pulling the same deal with me and my friend.
He was offereing us this unbelievable deal in downtown Windsor, On and when we went to go send the money, the address was declined, thankfully! We found out from the apartment manager that he has pulled the same scam on at least 4-5 other ppl just in response to the kijiji ad for her building, and countless others across Windsor and apperently in Canada!
Beware of this piece of [***]! He is ruthless and will try to use his religious belief to justify his well-being in all of this.
The police have been notifed and now it is just for your own precautions to beware of people like him who do not understand what an honest days work is.

The aliases that he connects himself with are his "wife" Sherriill Strampher and "landlord" Anita Mead.

His full name is Daniel Jonathan Strrampher... apperently.

South Slope Rental Scam (via West Africa)

A con artist is trying to bilk would-be renters in Brooklyn out of dough by pretending to offer apartments for rent in a condo building that hasn't even had any closings yet, according to brokers from Brown Harris Stevens who are representing the building in question. A person claiming to have an $800 apartment for rent at 317 16th Street has posted ads on "www.craigslis.org" (a non-functioning URL as of this morning). The fake landlord emails interested applicants and tells them to send him a one-month deposit via Western Union money transfer. "317 16th St. is a new condominium offering. We are the exclusive agents," says Christopher Thomas, an executive vice president at Brown Harris Stevens Brooklyn. "There are no apartments for rent. The building hasn’t yet had its first closing. I believe the information in the scam is taken from our web site or marketing materials." An email chain between the confidence man, who poses as a "reverend" living in West Africa, and a prospective renter is reprinted on the jump. Renter beware!

The fact that we do not have any body in the states to have the apartment shown to you. We are left with no option that to have the keys and rental document shipped via FedEx to 699 Decatur St. Brooklyn NY 11233 . Due to the security of the building , I will include a latter of authorization to avoid you from being embarrassed, when you go for inspection.

Before we ship the rental document and keys to you , you will have to make a payment of 1 month security deposit via WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER,which stands as a commitment fee. Who hoo! I've been aprroved. What a joke, 20 minutes after sending the application. Didn't even call refernces.
First warning, he removed the ad as soon as I replied. Second...you can't physically see the apartment. When the warning bells go off, and thing seems to good to be true....RUN!

I want you to know that I am a Christian "BORN AGAIN" to be precise and to ripped someone off his/her money is a sin for me and i cannot do such a thing. I know how hard is it for someone to earn 1$ nowadays because the money doesn't come easily and that is why I make it fair in putting the apartment rent for $800 for someone to be able to afford every month. To make things much easier for you, since you are not comfortable sending the whole $1200 at once, you can send the damage deposit which is $400 and send the first month rent after you have received the key's and documents,am only doing this for you to know that I really would like you to be the person to occupy the apartment and also for you to know that you are going to be receiving the keys and the documents of the apartment. You should never send money to someone you don`t know and only fools send money to poeple for one reason or another .If you can`t see the apartment
than it`s fraud.I don`t put ads on craigslist for apartments in any state.. If you can`t see them before you move than that your own fault.
Then you should call real a state broker....  I should not be held accountable for your mistake. If you wouldof called me before you sent money I would of told I don`t know anything about any apartments.. I found out it`s coming from nigeria and they where useing my name but the addresses where wrong thats what had mecalling the police here in oregon.

Your own fault for not checking the ad and the name you are blameing the wrong person..... Blame your self for not checking the place first.

The strampher name is being used in a scam .. They just found out about it they are very hurt ... the person that used the strampher name is in nigeria and the FBI is looking for him... Please they are useing another last name mead and we are not scammer . we are being scammed.

I think i was almost scammed by the same person. watch out for a rental scam by a con artist using the name David Erber.

I received calls from this number, forcing me to buy Bell phone. He threatened me that if I do not take the phone then I'll be billed for $1000. Caller called me 10 times and made me talk to many people there introducing as supervisor and manager. It is real scam. Do not fall for it. Bell do not make such stupid calls.

I posted an ad on Kijiji looking for a dog and have been corresponding with a chris williams.  He said he had the dog I was looking for and that he was just looking for a good home, all I need to do is pay the shipping costs.  I have everything arranged and just received a call from this phone # about paying for the shipping.  When I dial the # it states it is not in service - am I being scammed?

you should loose your money .never send money to any one with out looking at the place first.. I never put any ads on craigs list for apartments any state or country. I have lived in oregon all my life.I can prove that.
