I've had a bad experience with him for an apartment in Edmonton, Canada.
He was using the name Sherrill Strampher too. So glad I googled his name before sending him money through Western Union.
Be careful with this guy!

I just recently almost was going to send money to "SHERRILL STRAMPHER" via western union tomorrow actually. It was for a $700 apartment in Astoria, New York. The pictures were beautiful and I fell in love with it. However, things started to make me feel unsure about everything. Like when "she" did not want to give me a contact number, when they kept changing the amount of the security deposit, and the fact that I haven't seen the apartment. Luckily, I had people who told me that it was possibly a scam and googled the name. I am glad I didn't send the money but sad the apartment I wanted may not exist. Thanks to everyone who posted up scam alerts on this purpotrator!

Hi guys, so I am in the process right now with this guy the Strampher!  I will include the emails between him and I, but this guy doesn't know yet that I know that he is a total fruad.  I'm thinking about playing along, and telling him that i will send the money to the western union that he put down in Oregon, and have someone waiting for him, like the police. I am so happy that I felt there was something weird about it and did some research, here is the emails, he did the same thing, good price apartment, beautiful pictures of an apartment in San Francisco, but he now resides in Oregon as a structual engineer and is a reborn christian so i can trust him...haha, he's in idiot who cannot write proper english.  let me know what you guys think I should do to try and get this guy...for laughs here are a few of our emails...thanks!

    So of course I am happy to rent the place as well, I am very excited and I have put in a lot of time into filling out the information and working everything out with a potential roomate, which by the way, you didn't mention anything about needing an application from her?  However, I do not feel comfortable sending money without the keys or some sort of legal document.  Surely you must know someone in San Francisco that you trust to send the keys to and have them do the exchange for you.  I would be happy to pay them for their time.  I understand that you are in Oregon, but I have to be cautious which I am sure you can understand.  You sound like a really nice person, but craigslist is known for scammers, which I am sure you are not, but I must be safe.  Although the price of the apartment is very reasonable, it does not seem reasonable to send you the money in full payment tomorrow, before you have even checked my references, and then get the keys to a place that I have not seen in person yet.  Also, I have not even talked to you in person which would probobly make me feel a lot better about the money exchange, lease signing, and key exchange.  
    I look forward to hearing from you Daniel, and I am sure we can work out a different way of exchanging the money for the keys.

You are a liar, I can tell by the way that you write (incorrectly) that you are the same person that has been corresponding with me.  It is people like you that make everyone in this world so untrusting.  How do you sleep at night ripping off people that work so hard and honestly for their money?  I guess if you are the type of person to even atempt this kind of scam that you sleep just fine, if you sleep at all, you are probobly just some junkie with some nasty drug habit, responding to your victims at three in the morning via email.  But let me tell you somthng Sherrill or Daniel or habib or whatever name you go by;  you will get yours somehow, someway.  What goes around comes around and I can personally say that I will take every action to make sure that you get busted, because it is people like you, you know the scum of the scum, that need to be stopped.  You are disgusting and I am now looking forward to doing what I can to make sure that you are stopped.

I live in Windsor Ontario Canada.  This guy did this to me as well.  Thanks god I caught on before sending him any money.  He used the name Daniel Strampher and gave me the email of danielstrampherd@yahoo.com.  This guy is a total scammer..same story as the rest of you.  He had to move to Oregon for a job, couldn't show the apt in person.  Told me to send the money and he would send the keys.  I reported him to the place he posted the ad.  Not sure what else to do other than warn people.

I just got scammed as well for 1,000 dollars.  Just did some investigating and found out all of this by investigating.  The person called me once and it was on a private phone.  They claimed that they live in Oregon and is away on business for two years, but I should've felt something since the apartment was so cheap. How can we catch this person.  Please let me know.
