DO NOT FALL FOR THIS PLEASE!!! He scams off Craigslist for people to send him money- I got the same message about him being in Nigeria (used name David L Burrow) which immediately tipped me off- so here is what I did- I verified through property tax records that he is NOT the current owner of the property. I then got the IP address information from his email (do this by getting the sent info- find out how here: http://aruljohn.com/info/howtofindipaddress/  - I tracked his IP address to Mountain View, CA- which ironically is either on/very near the military base there. I will be notify the police in the CA area of what is going on- hopefully we can catch this jerk!! I hope this helps!!

Everybody should be aware of this first clas scam.he is operating under the name Reverend John Coleman and his fake wife Susan Brunce.he requested me to send him a money through western union.He calle dme on my phone twice the number that showed on my screen was +2348076406889.

I got the exact same response, he was calling it a $650 apartment and said he was a mechanic who moved to the Philippines. Called himself Michael Jacob

I go the same email, but instead of Joh Carrick, he is "Douglas Tregre" but the email has the same exact story for a place in manhattan.

Hi, there! I have a friend who is looking for an apartment in Downtown, Calgary but the current tenant of the unit is"out of the country to complete a training course". He goes by different names: dave brian, dave micheal, brian almar, etc...and the name changes every time he sends email to my friend. That guy is currently in Missouri, Kansas City and my friend believed in him. Hes asking my friend to send him the money via western union and the rent is $550 plus damage deposit. The apartment's address is the same:  1310 9th St. S.W. Calgary (Downtown) Alberta T2R 1C7. water, heating, electricity, washer, dryer all included, fully furnished....
But when i googled the address, it all came out to be a scam using different names, some women ,some men and the address is always the same. I would like to thank u for posting your story as i saved my friend's money. These people will surely go to hell and no doubt about that.Thanks, again.

I got the EXACT same series of e-mails, this one about an apartment in Berkeley. It seemed too good to be true and when I told them that I needed to check out the place, I got two blocked calls saying that I needed to wire over the money right away. YEAH RIGHT. This time they were Rev John Coleman and his wife Susan. Reported them to the FTC

Just almost got scammed myself by Rev. John Coleman and wife Susan. He advertised for a 1 bedroom fully furnished apartment near UC Berkeley for $400.00 a month. I figured it was fishy as a single room shared in Berkeley is $500.00 or more for a dump. I did e-mail him and got some story about being on a Crusade to Nigeria and to contact his wife Susan. What an [***]. I wonder if I could report him and see what happens if anything.

I didn't get a call from this number but a "google" search on the "Rev" showed up this site.
