- utahWe have done one of these promotions before. We went to the 30 minute thing they want you to attend to try and sell you a time share. The way we got out of it, my husband was only interested in the time share that wasn't available. So he said, once it is available, let me know then we can discuss it. It through the sales rep and didn't quite know what to do. It was hilarious! But they are legit and these resorts are really nice and fun. Ask for extra nights.. sometimes they will give you extra nights at 50 a night. Well worth it!
- KaraThis number calls many times a week but they never leave a dang message!! It says that it is Mariott so I am assuming it could be the Mariott Hotel? Dont know..
- Caller: Mariott
- DCONHi, I am an employee for the company you guys are discussing and I would LOVE to fill you in on some things!
1. We are legit. If you get call from one of us and doubt the legitimacy of it, simply ask for their extension, go to http://www.marriottvacationclub.com/index.shtml. Call the number on the upper right corner and select the extension option and enter their extension.
2. I'm/We're sorry that we don't leave voicemails. Wouldn't a voicemail every day we call be more annoying then just calling if you had no interest? Sadly we aren't mind readers, and can't tell if you are just not picking up your phone cause you are not interested or you're out of town/not home/etc. Forgive us for trying to do the job we were paid to do.
3. If you don't want to recieve these calls, just say to be put on the dnc. That way we won't waste your time.
4. As I always tell Reward members and past guests, It's not for everybody. If you like saving money, enjoy the marriott, don't mind taking 90 minutes out of your vacation (Worst case scenario it isn't a high pressured pitch) and most likely will travel in the next 12 months, then It would be a great opportunity. If not, that's fine. Obviosuily this designed for everyone! - May replies to h. smithI had missed calls from this number and from Hilton Vacation Getaways yesterday. Hilton called me back today and I was able to get a great deal. I hope Marriott calls back because if they're offering me something similar, I'll definitely take them up on it. It would be nice to have 2 luxurious mini-vacations this year. I know that a $99 trip doesn't sound luxurious, however, I have confidence in both Hilton and Marriott that their properties will be what they say it is.
- Tara replies to sfosoReally?! You don't think it's possible that the person who posted remembered the details of the deal they agreed to? I took advantage of a similar deal from Hilton this morning and I can to tell you the rules that were given to me. They likely remembered it since it seems like a sort of pushy thing to ask. I'd think as long as one party attends the "tour of the property" sales pitch, they'd be satisfied with that, but I guess since they're selling deeded properties so they want to know who they're financing. That's fair.
It didn't seem like a Marriott employee wrote the post. It sounds like a person who took advantage of a good deal and was happy about it wrote it to help put other people's minds at ease. Since you had already decided for yourself that it was a scam before reading any posts, you will twist everything you read to support that opinion. Have you even considered that it was a legitimate deal? I'm glad you're dumb enough to play the radio to them rather than take the calls (That's not at all funny, by the way. You clearly need to get a life.) because I don't want to have to deal with people like you on my vacation. I have enough of you to contend with at work.
Like someone suggested in an earlier post, if you don't want to be contacted in the future, just tell them. Marriott is a reputable company and if you tell them you're not interested, they will leave you alone. They want to make sales...they're not interested in wasting their time calling people who have no chance in purchasing. By the way, 8:30PM isn't "all hours" and most times when you sign up for something, you can let them know if you don't wish to be contacted via phone and they'll honor it. - Tara replies to Ezight| 1 replyIf you do business with a company (Did you sign up for a Marriott Rewards membership?), they're allowed to contact you even if you're on the registry. It doesn't apply to companies with whom you have a business relationship or to charities or surveys, etc. It's only for those trying to sell you something that
- Tara replies to maxMax - I agree with you 100%. It's not a hard thing to do. Have a nice day. :-)
- pkb replies to V. ChaseNo, you look......I didn't sign up for squat. Just because someone stays in a hotel is not an automatic sign up for solicitation calls, K?
- BonzoidEVERY NIGHT THEY CALL! And my number is unlisted and a no-call number. If they want business, this is no way to get it. I stay at Westin's only anyway.
- Caller: ????
- Bonzoid replies to Deryk Shepherd| 1 replyGood...now STOP CALLING ME or I'll report you to the Attorneys General. My number is a do-not-call. Better get yourself one of those lists..quickly.
- n graylingcalls late in evening trying to sell me something I have asked several times to be removed from the list Marriott are rude beyond belief...
- Caller: marriott
- Call type: Telemarketer
- n grayling replies to Deryk ShepherdI hae been called most nights by marriott I have emailed and asked for them not to call me. They are rude what else can i do to stop the calls. They are waking my kids each time..
- AlexFor all you people supposedly representing Marriott on here...You don't work for Marriott! Marriott farmed this out to the cheapest telemarketing subcontractor they could find. You're the lowest of the lows! You get paid by commission based on how many people you can sucker into these scams.
You're stealing from me and all the other people you call by using a utility that I pay for without my permission. STOP CALLING ME!
Telemarketing is like spam without the spam filters! GO AWAY! GET A RESPECTABLE JOB!- Caller: FLORIDA
- lieselvonhI am tired of getting hang up calls from this number
- Caller: Marriott
- m. taylor replies to V. ChaseI got bed-bugs from a Marriot.
- ShillBusterAfter I asked to be placed on the do not call list I now get over 100 calls a week from all kinds of scam artists like this one. Obviously, the so called option to be removed from the callist list is just a scam to confirm that a "live" number has been reached by the illegal autodialer. In fact you will be added to the "call the sucker" list.

I am a rewards member so I guess it is some vacation promo from Marriott. Thanks to those who shared the information with the rest of us. I too will always do the same.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Shillingford replies to maceIt ain't Marriott - it's a scam (operated by the same boiler room claiming to be from Hilton).
- Howard WassermanTrying to sell items
- jdeKeep calling and leaving a message for my son making it sound urgent that he call them back. He has a Marriott rewards card but has never signed up for any vacation. He hasn't returned their calls. They are getting more anxious sounding when they call - he's usually not here. Tonight she sounded like she was going to jump through the phone - 8:17 pm.!
