Just call your lawyer after more than one call espec. if your tel. no. is on the DO NOT CALL list. I think the damages are $10,000 per call per federal laws.

I got their call - doesn't say Marriot on the ID all it says is Florida. Yeah they sounded legit with some person info they spouted. But after I said, 'I don't do phone offers, mail me something' The gal said a tad huffily; "Thank you" and hung up.

They don't have to mail their offers to everyone. If they do get you on the phone they can then mail you an offer. But I'm not going to be pressed into making a vacation choice even at 80% off and give out any credit info over the phone with out talking to my partner, who was the one who actually 'won' the offer. So really how legit is that? Sorry but if it smells and acts like a scam it most likely is a scam - I don't care what big name they use.

What's up with calling during the work day when said partner isn't at home anyway? Sniff, sniff.

I see that the "Marrioitt free vacation" callers are at it again after a long layoff. I have no idea if they are legitimate or not, but if they are, they can leave a message or send a letter. Their repeated hang up calls makes me believe this is some sort of a scam. Regardless, I look at them as a "pita" and I don't mean the PITA animal rights terrorists, who are another pain in the rectal area. Both of these callers are to be avoided!

All people he did was provide the facts, as he saw them. No one likes to be peppered with calls. If it was that important, why didn't they leave a vm or not hang up?

Marriott Vacation Club pitching the sale of timeshares in Florida.  Caller said I was eligible to stay several nights at a Marriott property near Orlando or at the beach in exchange for sitting through a 90 minute presentation.

The caller had my Marriott Rewards number, which I presume came from Marriott records, and since I have an existing business relationship with Marriott by virtue of having stayed with them, it may or may not be legal for them to contact me by phone to attempt to sell timeshares.

The caller was polite enough and didn't try to argue when I said I wasn't interested, asked to be put on the firm's "Do Not Call" list, and told him I was going to hang-up.

I told them that I would be happy to take their vacation only if I could do it in the next 14 days.  They asked why and I told them it was because I was about to serve a 2 year sentence for beating up a telemarketer.

    No more calls......

Legitimate vacation offers from Marriott. Been taking advantage of visiting some great locations through them for several years. The drawback is you have to sit through 90 minute timeshare presentation sometime during your visit. Other than that, it's actually a good deal!

These are robocalls from a programmed database of contact numbers, harvested from many different sources, and all without the owner's permission.  They are NOT legit because such calls are completely in violation of the Federal DNC registry.  NOTHING you say or do, whether answering (not recommended!) or ignoring them will remove your number from their database.  Instead, you need to install a product that will protect you and your privacy from these infernal leeches.

Just block their number if you don't want to tell them you are 'not interested.' I had a great offer from them, but the timing was not good for us.

You are right. It is at a time share location. Your comitment is the 90 minute talk and maybe transportation to the location.

Actually "we" Marriott Vacation Planners are not robocalls I have to hand dial every last customer assigned to me. We are actually Legit, Marriott Vacation Club International in Orlando Fl to be exact feel free to search and find our exact address and matching phone number, but we only are assigned customers like you who either after your stay complete a survey and opt to be contacted for discounts or promotions or are a rewards member with us and frequent enough and accumulate enough points to qualify to save between 50%-85% off to vacation at one of our Marriott Resort locations comparable to JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton because you most likely pay full price to stay with us a lot already. We do not offer these type of discounts to people who have not done business with us before and with Marriott being a little old fashion we do still actually call and talk to people because 95% of our business still comes from word of mouth.  If you are lucky enough to get me on the line and you ask for us not to call you and save you money on your vacations and to put you on our do not call list internally I will be more than happy to do so because there are plenty of Marriott customers who would appreciate spending only $199 on their next vacation instead of $2500 and I prefer to service them instead of those who make and @$$ out of themselves assuming that we benefit more from calling you ungrateful people vs you actually coming out saving thousands  to a location you might of thought was too expensive to go and travel with a Company like Marriott who is #1 in customer service.  So go right ahead keep paying full price for OK vacations or not going on vacations at all from Legit companies. Either way Marriott still direct deposits my check every 2 weeks!

Saying "do not call" or stating you are on the National DO NOT CALL LIST is meaningless for the law breaking phone spammers.  The call back anyway, thereby breaking the law again.

Now repeat after me, "folks that are working for a living" for these law breaking crooked companies deserve to be harassed.  So, stop being a "jerk" "because Karma is ugly"!
