Just rec'd my check for $3880, Mr Manu West said that the check is good, just cash it. Then I'll receive the other $171,120. This would be a wonderful headstart into 2013. His # is 1-647-627-3720.
Am I being skeptical? Or have I finally had a change of luck?

I got the same letter and was momentarily excited!  Of course I googled and am not surprised this is a scam.  Winning was not even spelled correctly in the letter!  I looked up Martinrea Hopkinsville LLC and it is an air conditioning company.  Bummer.  I could have used $171,120.00!:)

yup just got mine and like most everyone else was excited and in my mind was getting ready to be debt free but my wife ruined it by telling me to go online and check it out, I knew better but really didnt want to find that it was a scam. So thanks to my wife and everyone that contributed to this post.

I recieved a call today saying I won 250 million dollars and a mercedes. The man say from the company PowerBall International and asked me do I shop at wal-mart. He said I needed to send $722 dollars for something and as he.kept talking he said will I be able to send the $725. Im thinking which one is it. The funny thing about it is that he is calling me from a unknown cellphone number.. I don't want them with any of my information. I didnt sign up for anything to win money... The number is 876-870-0767. He is calling back to back... I also told him im going to get my attorney on the phone and he can talk to her. He started saying I can go and listen to who I want but he can prove this is real and not a fraud. I still dont believe it.

Area code 876 is Jamaica. Don't call 876-870-0767 back because you will be charged international phone rates and perhaps premium rates.

I received exactly the same thing, mr. manu winning 175k from canada. so is there any drawback from trying to cash the check and seeing if it's good?

I got this letter today and would like to post what I know.  Glad I researched, thanks for all the info.  My letter says that I won 125,000.00 and my check to deposit was for 3,875.00.  Same idea and same phone number, but this was from World Financial Group 1385 Dundas St. West Toronto ON M6J 1Y4 and the check is from Qlogic Corporation 26650 Aliso Viejo Parkway, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656 using a bank named Silicon Valley in Pittsburgh, PA.  Be warned that they change some information, but is still the same scam.

Don't even think about it. You may be hit with bank fees, may be prosecuting for depositing a fake check and may have a felony on your record for the rest of your life. Try looking for a job with that record.

They sent this to the wrong person. I hired a Computer Savy PI who has tracked the fakes sending these documents and a legitimate contrat killer to eliminate the person in charge of this immoral scam stealing the money of hard earned American citizen; like my mother.  My laywer found a way to classify them as economical terrorist; meaning its legal...  Let this be a message for any out there who think they can make money like this.

Got the same letter, and as soon as I read it i was like (wtf). So I callled my Mom and she said NO dont do it. So Just like the rest of you guys, I decided to look it up. LOL same crap in my letter with a check. Will contact the local police tomorrow and present this scam to them, Thanks Mom, for keeping the bad guys away again.

Letter dated 2-15-2013, from Waterhouse in Toronto. Won $125,000 in the international shoppers lotto powerball from shopping at Lowes, Walmart, etc.  Call (claim agent) MarkNelson 1-647-449-5608 provide claim # for further clarification. The rest is like the previous posts, pay taxes to claim full winnings. Notify the authorities to stop these idiots from ruining lives!

I received basically the same letter but itwas dated Feb 26 2013. It from Mr Manu West in accordance with Regions Bank in Georgia. The phone number on my is 1-647-530-7873. Again, like every one else has said, Do Not Try This! Its a scam.

The letter heading was Inter-American Promotions Inc. and said it was Inter-American Powerball Lotto.

I recieved a letter from Waterhouse financial services saying I have won $125,000 in the international shoppers lotto powerball. Also inclosed was a check for $3875.00  It says that I have the winning lotto number number.  It also says I must call before cashing the check.  When I did this I reached a man with an accent from India.  He instructed me to deposit the check into my checking account to pay the taxes. and then call him for further instructions.  what struck me as wrong was that gift taxes are close to 50%.  I'm glad I found this web site before I acted. The phone number was 1-647-449-5608.

My husband also got a letter. everything looked lagit, until we kept researching. What a scam.

Just received the letter today funny enough. I thought it was a scam so I had to check it out. Thanks to all for these posts. My claim agents name was also Mark Nelson (indian accent) phone # to call has changed now it's 416-830-5446. This is what got my attention the check is from First Citizens Bank & Trust Co. in Boone NC and funny enough I lived * years ago but the asddress the letter was sent to I have not lived there in 6 years (exwifes address). Just wanted to post so that others see this and do not get scammed. Letter head said it was from Waterhouse Financial Services 66 Wellington St Toronto ON the envelope was from The Personal Home and Auto Group Insurance
