I keep receiving many calls from that area code & Jamaica.The latest though follows the same pattern as some of the others posted above.  I just deposited a check for $3920 from Med Foods,Inc in Houston ,TX to pay fro a nonresident fee of $1880 & $980 for administration payable to th e international tax agent via Western Union. This is from a rAndom drawing on 10/15/13 in the UK just because I shopped at one of the big chain stores in the US at some time. I have won $185000 as part of a 3.2 million prize. I called back & Mr.Ray Thompson,LLB assured me that I'd receive my bank check for the remainder on Weds. but it was imperative that I send the tax money to a Solomon Sorg, tax agent in Malmo, Sweden with an English street name (King Street) & zip code! The letter from Chain Promotions had a Toronto area code phone # & address but alternative addresses in Hopkinsville,KY & Liverpool,UK.
What tipped me off was the tax agent in Sweden,his hesitant speech & accent & when he spelled Solomon he changed from S as in Sam to S as in screw. he expected me Western Union the cash today before his check cleared. That pissed me off. Good Luck to anyone who catches these scammers.

My Sister in law received this scam same as listed above. Not sure how they make their money.

I  got a same letter today. Beware!!!

This the second time we recvied a lette r and check like this and in the trash it went.

today i have received the same letter from inter-american promotions inc. $ 185.000 the sum i won.a check of $3,920 to be deposited to my account.i have to call to pay taxes.my claim agent is mr. ray thompsom phone number: 1 647 261 6829

Hi, I just won the same175000.00, so I thought I would check it out and sure enough I found all of these, the we are to smart to be scammed club! I was tipped off by the spelling of the winers they referred to instead of winners. Good to know but hey, who couldn't use 175 grand.. Oh well, still a good day!

Got the check today.  Issued by First American Title Insurance Company for 3,875.  Definitely scam!!

I also received a letter and check ! Lucky I hate going through the mail because these days all it is are bills .  I laughed at it because the letter didn't even look legit . Question can I just though this all away ? I'm concerned because these people have my address . Any suggestions ? I haven't got any wired phone calls or anything . Thanks for sharing your information .

Go ahead and throw the check away since it is fake.  The scammers do not pay attention to who they send these fake checks too, they just wait for the few who let greed override their common sense and call for the instructions.  You could take it all to your local post office and turn it over to the postmaster since this letter and check constitute mail fraud.

I have also received this letter with check to deposit , as I have had one in the past I have now run it thru the paper chopper it is now good for the trash. they never learn that some people wont fall for it.

We got same letter from Inter- American Promotions but the # to call was different 1-647-839-7783. Too bad was a scam!!! I am a single mom and they cut my hours. I could use that money to pay my debts. Thanks God I researched online

Got the scam letter yesterday decided to research, glad I did. Thanks to the people who take time to write about this scathe number on mine is 647-837-7783.

Just received my letter and check in the mail.  Initially I was ecstatic to see the check since I am a student living off of student loans.  Then I read the letter and got suspicious.  I called the number for Mr. Manu West and a tired sounding woman answered.  She mumbled and I could barely understand her.  I asked if it was a hoax and she just told me to deposit the check then call back.  Then I googled Inter-American Promotions and found this news feed.  Just as suspected…a scam.

I received the same. Mine was almost perfect, No distinguishable errors.
They are getting better because they probably read these posts and unfortunately are told what they are doing wrong!

Winning amount is $175,000.00
