I  received same letter  on 12-19-13 check for $3,880.00 was issued by Wells Fargo N A.,San Francisco, CA

I just received a check as well, thanks for you suggestion to take it to the post office and file a complaint, people need to get a grip!  Thanks again. Anna S.

I almost fell for this scam too. I had even sent them the money. Thanks to God i was able to cancel my money transfer. I am so happy that i was able to cancel the money before they took it out.

I got the same letter yesterday, 01/21/14 with a check for $3875.00 - the check was a "Cashier's Check" drawn on Chase bank. There was NO return address on the envelope but it appeared to originate from Canada. There was misspellings in the letter and the format of the letter was comical. Wish these losers would get a real job!!!

i got the same thing, i knew better my son got this several years ago, big scam the thing is i don`t even play the lottery. Any how, how would they get my name and address. Every thing really looks legal, but what a scam.

I got the same check today.  I will head to the post office on Monday to file a complaint as well. I knew when I read the letter and they asked for a check before I could get any winnings it was a hoax; but, I can see how someone would fall for this.  Some people are just unscrupulous.

I got my check for 3920.00 today.  So glad I checked online before following direction in the letter.  Oh well, to good to be true.

I received a check for $3875.00 from a Silicon Valley bank, and the origination was indeed Canada.  But the letter looked so real!  But what got me, was that the Shoppers Lotto listed stores that I do not shop at. Most of them are not even in my area!!
I told my husband that money does not come for free!!

Ditto on this.  I just got a check yesterday for the same amount, around 3800.  It seemed to have 'scam' written all over it.  I'm not biting.  The stamp area had a reference to Canada.

We received basically the same letter, with a check for $3920.00, The letter said ,you are entitled to receive a sum of $185.0000 US dollars. This sum is from a total prize amount of $3.2 million shared among all winners in North America and the United Kingdom.Non resident fee of $1880.00 and $980.00 for admin. Fed Ex delivery, of course within 24 to 48 hours. This letter shows a Claim Number: YY227FA.   The bottom of the letter shows this gentlemans name and title.

The letter is signed by a David, looks like Bob, but Pamela Ross is shown as the Promotions Director. The Check shows these two companys at the top, ( these are real places , I looked them up) First American Title Insurance Company, and First American Trust, FSB-Trust Account. The envelope had a postage from Canada, also the return address part had a Chase Bank Logo. I will be reporting to my Post Office, and will call these two title companys, not sure if they know they are involved.

I received a letter and a check from INTERNATIONAL LOTTO POWERBALL SAYING I HAD WON 175,000.00 THE CLAIM AGENT DIRECT LINE WAS 1-416-843-9125 I didn't fall for it

Received the same letter and check for 3875.00.  If it smells like a skunk it is a skunk. what a way to ruin someones day by making them think that they may be able to get out of debt.  Don't fall for this [***]. Its just to bad that there are people out there that would not check this out first and that they trust everyone. I used to be that way till I got scammed and now I question everything especially this.

I received this letter on February 5 2014 and did a good look on the web before I did anything. Thanks to some good thinking. What a shame to try to just rob people by doing this.

My dad just got a letter just like all of you. I knew it was a scam but I had to check online. Glad I did. If only we knew who is doing this... karma is coming.

Scam still going strong. Received a letter today in NJ.

Whats happens if u just deposit the 3800 lol I didnt touch it just left it in there never followed the rest of the steps lol my bank has yet to call so just wondering I did check my bal. And it is in there still

Anytime you actually win money, you NEVER have to pay to receive it - ever!  Also, you can't win a sweepstakes or competition you never entered.
