A few notes for call center people.... if the number is not familiar we do not pick up. If the person does not leave a message it is assumed to be illegitimate (a scam and is reported to the authorities). Every bill collector I have dealt with ALWAYS left a polite message on voicemail with sufficient information to demonstrate they are legitimate, otherwise you are a scammer.

This number was calling my minor daughter's cell phone repeatedly....

Anyway after reading the thread I called them back and noted that the number they have is associated with a child's cell phone.

I thought it was a prank myself after reading on here at first. This IS FOR THD COLLECTIONS! I thought I had everything sorted out earlier, when really it was because of a mistake made by somebody earlier. They are friendly and are very helpful to the situation. I felt like a [***] because I treated them like [***], but then they were able to help me out with the situation. Not a bad number!

Actually, if you don't pick up the phone and verify who you are then they can call you 9 times a day. They are only allowed to "contact" you once a day.

If you hang up, don't pick up, and they don't leave a message, that doesn't count as contact. So the only way you are getting 6 calls a day is if you just ignore the calls and they aren't leaving messages, which means you really have no idea what is going on.

And I truly hope some lawyer didn't take money from you to sue them, because if one did...you got ripped off.

The only thing you have accomplished is getting your credit score [***] up.

If you called right back after you verified contact with the card holder and the card holder hung up then you violated the law. Even if you did work there it sounds like you didn't know the law....

They started calling my house 2, 3, 4 times a day and this has been going on for over a month.  When you answer the phone it is always a computerized voice regarding a Home Depot account.  I do not have a Home Depot account, closed mine a couple of years ago after paying it off.  Now they have started calling me at my work number of which I don't answer because I'm working, but I'm beginning to tire of this.  How do I stop this.  I don't owe them money.

Estoy recibiendo una serie de llamadas del 423-477-6983 Credicard de Citi-Card., en la cual practicamente me estan hostigando e intimidando, pues las llamadas son cada 5 minutos., yo estoy enferma con un Tumor al Cerebro y mi esposo es Disable.  Los he llamado muchas veces y me han contestado de una forma que deja mucho que desear indicandome que solo les de mi numero de mi tarjeta de credito., les agradeceria se sirvan investigar., ya que esta afectando a mi salud, a mi economia y a la paz que necesito tener., pues estoy con Laid off y necesito concentrarme para mandar mi resumen a diferentes cia.  Los he llamado muchas veces, y tengo los reportes de sus llamadas., no es posible que me esten llamando cada 5 munutos a intimarme y extorcionarme., pues al cansancio no voy a acceder a tener una tarjeta., en cualquier momento les puedo mandar el reporte de mi celular para comprobar las llamadas.  Solicito que no me vuelvan a llamar intimidandome y extorcionando.

They call every day, four or five times a day. If you answer, they ask for your name, but won't tell you who they are before you verify that you are who they are calling for. If you refuse to answer their questions until they tell you who they are, they ignore you asking them who they are and repeat themselves. If you ignore their call, they hang up when they get your voicemail or leave a voicemail that says: "hello. hello. hello?" and then hang up. They even started calling other members of my family that I don't even live with and they do the same thing to them. They ignored my family's requests to never be called again at that number. The number they called that was my family members was never even on my account. So obviously they are going through the phonebook of something. I'm assuming all of this because I was literally a couple days late on a f-ing payment.... I am guessing, because I STILL don't know who this was harassing me.

i just got a call from this number 5 min ago 9:20 centeral time.. i live in Murfreesboro Tn. the guy that was on the other end of the line said that i had an out standing balance on my Home Depot card.. the same card that i payed off 3 months ago and canceled... do not give these ppl your info. i got a letter from my bank a few weeks ago that said that a large chunk of info had been compromised from several lenders names account numbers and what not. my bank went as far as to move all my money to a new account to make shure nothing happened. then "home depot" is the 2nd call like this that i have got. i also got one form "old navy" as well..

For the past three weeks I was getting calls from this number FIVE times a day.  I never answered their calls because I figured that it must be a scam.  They never identified themselves as a legitimate business, and the fact that they were so persistent, rang a bell in my head.  I do have a Home Depot credit card, but I'm paying much more than my monthy bill so they shouldn't be calling.  Can't be too careful these days.

I asked to be removed from their call list twice b/c I have no credit card or account w/ Home Depot.  Calls have been coming 2 - 3 times a day for a couple of weeks....I now have it on a special forward and note they are still at it.

I imagine Home Depot pays these folks good money, which is why Home Depot is and should go out of business...they have no sense of customer service !!

Even if you pick up on the first ring they do not say anything and hang up. this call was at 11:00 am on Sunday. They will be contacted by my Lawyer with cease and desist orders. From there They will be Sued if these calls continue.

Just because the law SAYS they can't call you 9 times a day, or late at night, or call you obscene names, or or or or or doesn't mean they won't do it.
They also won't take your word for it that BOB doesn't live at your house, and will call and call and call and call demanding to speak with him about the account.   heck, they'll even accuse YOU of being BOB and being a deadbeat loser who lies abotu his identity.  
yeah, the law means nothing - unless you have the time to go all the way with a suit.  Who has time for that?

They call 8 times daily. I do NOT have a Home Depot line of credit.

I keep getting calls from this number.  When I answer there is no one there.  When I don't answer, no one leaves a voice mail.  I have never had a HD account.

We get calls from this # 4-5 times a day. We received a call last nite at 9:00pm. How can we stop this # from calling. Why do they call anyway. If we do answer it it hangs up. This is very frustrating and annoying. Have any answers for this problem # ?

I've been getting way to damn many calls from these people. I don't have a home depot account and have NEVER had a home depot account. This is staring to piss me off. They called me three times sunday June 21, 2009 by 6:30PM!!!

I have an debt management account with Care One and Citibank has accepted a proposal for $35. They now terminated this accepted proposal becuase they said I was late which is bunk.  Care One sent a new proposal and was declined becuase now they want $36.  This is an unscrupulous tactic.  I am holding Citibank accepting the $35. They also keep calling me like 10 - 12 times per day.  I've stopping counting. I've sent them a letter demanding stop calls and I've ordered Care One to continue with the payment of $35 or I will take legal action.  I can't wait to see what their response will be.  This should be fun!
