I have received THREE annoying calls from this number: 423-477-6983.

No response, even when call went to answering machine.  Call received 11/20/07 at 11:18 a.m.

I just called the Home Depot Customer Services department to inform them about this issue. This number has been calling my cell phone anywhere from 5-10 times a day for the last two weeks. It is ANNOYING as heck! When I spoke to the woman from Home Depot, she didn't know anything about it, but did say that Home Depot Cusmtomer Service is indeed located in Tennessee with a "423" area code. She suggested that sometimes people give incorrect phone numbers by mistake on their accounts so if people are receiving this call in error (which I have been - I've never even BEEN in a Home Depot before), then it could be that. She also suggested answering the phone next time they call, and explaining that it's the wrong number. She said that would be the quickest way to have them stop calling.

Save their call as a contact like you would a friend. Then assign a special ringtone to that number.

These folks call my house 2-3 times a day, and when you call them back, they are rude and not helpful at all.  I hope these calls stop soon.  They don't seem to care that they bug you day and night.

I have gotten 6 calls from this number today.  I have not yet answered it, and now after reading this, I think I will continue with that strategy.  My home depot account is fine.

I have gotten calls from 423-477-6983 talking about an over due payment on a Home Depot Credit line.  I do not even have a Home Depot credit line?  is this a joke, wrong number or has someone stolen my ID and set up a bogus account?

This number appeared on my caller ID today with no message left.  I don't have a Home Depot account so I don't know why they are calling me.   I wonder if anyone has called Home Depot to see if they know about this company and the calls they are making.

I got the same calls. I would caution giving any info about your charge card. There was a scam not very long ago when they asked you to make a payment or that your account was overdue they would say let me help you straighten this out what is your card number? If they were realy from there they would have that info. I ask for there name tell them I will go to the store and have a rep call them and ask for them direct and we can get this matter squared away. They may be polite and say thank you and just hang up.

I just got the same call-Again from this number and like many of you I DO NOT OWN A CREDIT CARD FROM HOME DEPOT!

Probably a scam or something along those lines!

If it was REAL-they should have record/file with info. of those who do own a Home Depot credit card.

One time-wrong number- that's okay. BUT...once you get them nonstop, then there's something weird about it.

Solution: Like myself, just don't answer the calls and hopefully they will stop. If not, answer and tell them to go call their momma! Then they will leave you alone!

I keep getting calls from this number about a home depot account; I have called back asking them to stop because I don't have an account.  Finally they gave me a number to call Home Depot to be removed: 1-800-877-0232.  When I called they said they couldn't help me because they didn't have any record of my number.  This seems very suspicious.

I got a call from the same number about a half hour ago. I didn't answer, but looked up the number on Google, which led me to this site. So out of curiosity, I called the number back. A man with an Hispanic accent answered. I asked who it was. He said "Mario," if memory serves. He then said he was calling about my Home Depot account. I reminded him it was me who called him and he didn't even know who I WAS, much less that I have a HD account.

I further told him Home Depot isn't headquartered in Kingsport, TN. He said he was in Dallas, TX. So I asked him to explain why a 423 area code, followed by the number and "Kingsport, Tennessee" came up on my readout. He had no explanation for that, but he "offered" that if I'd just give him my HD account number, he'd be "glad to look into it for me."

Oh, I'm quite sure he would!

I told him he'd better stop with the scam, and that I was reporting his number to the police. It was clearly obvious he had no affiliation whatsoever with Home Depot, and he was stammering all over his words and had absolutely no clue what he was doing.

Use caution when dealing with these people...I only hope they get caught before they get away with scamming too many innocent people.

I received one call from them today at 11:55 a.m. (Sunday). I called them back, and demanded the persons name, their address, and the name of the company. On my caller ID it said "Citi Commerce". I recently found out that Home Depot, as well as Sears, have sold their credit accounts, whether open or closed, to CitiCard, which is the most ruthless company out there for collections efforts. They do not care if your account is current, and they will harass you several times a day, every day. I have reported them to the Attorney General in the state where I live about unfair collection tactics.  No. 1, CitiBank nor Sears, or Home Depot, have EVER notified its customers the accounts have been sold to CitiBank. Citibank is supposed to notify you and give  you an option to leave everything alone, just the way it always has been, and if you do then your account (if you have one) will automatically be closed until it is paid off.  If, however,you use your card/account AFTER being notified then you fall under the new guidelines set forth by CityBank. BUT, Citibank hasn't notified anyone, nor has Home Depot or Sears, but CITIBANK has changed your payment arrangements anyway, which in my opinion, is totally illegal and they are not supposed to be allowed to do it with out your knowledge and/or consent. They do it anyway. Report this to your A.G.'s office IF you see  your info or payment arrangements have been changed, etc.  I take it that those of  you that have received calls know nothing about any change so that speaks loudly for itself.

they called @ 8am on a saturday morn. I do have a home depot card n it may or may not be overdue, either way they shouldn't of called that early. waitin for them to call back to give them an earful.

This is the second time I've received a call from 423-477-6983 and it's the second time I've called them to ask them to remove my number from their calling list.  She answered the phone Home Depot collections.  I don't even have a Home Depot credit card.  I don't understand how they even got my cell phone number.

Same situation here. I won't answer it. After reading posts on this website I went to check my account, and my account is current as well. Very puzzling. Be wary!

This number has called me 11 times today (so far). It is 7 pm. I wish they'd show up at my door so I could introduce them to my friends Smith & Wesson.

i work for this company and we handle the homedepot credit cards. the 4234776983 will show up on your  caller ids  this is our call center . if you keep getting calls from us and you do not have a home depot account just call us  and we  will be glad to  take your phone number out of our system  so that you wont keep recieving the calls . most of the time we just have the wrong phone #.

There are call centers all over the world.  Home Depot account calls can come from  Gray(kingsport , johnson city, midway) Tennessee...Layton, Ohio..... Irving (dallas) Texas.... or Jacksonville, Fl.....all these call centers handle your home depot account . If you do not have a home depot acct , just call the # back , tell them that you do not have a home depot account and give them the # they are calling you on & they will promptly remove the number for you... I promise they don't want to waste their time  calling the wrong number continuously. Their system updates at midnight that night and you will never get another call. I used to work at the one in Tennessee and my paycheck from Citiback were not a scam and neither is this number!! By the way , calling and screaming, being a smartass, not answering your phone....just make the problem worse. pick up your phone call the # and just take 2 minutes out of your time & solve the problem yourself. it takes more time to complain on this website than it does to FIX IT!!!!
