ELAGOON DIGITAL just called my cell phone as well because I just registered a website.  The part I had to laugh about was my website is one being set up for tracking illegal telemarketers who violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.    How's that for ironic?

elagoondigital.com is overseas in Australia and India BUT their domain is registered through GoDaddy and even hosted on a GoDaddy IP.  I recommend contacting their abuse department at abuse@godaddy.com and letting them know they have a client who is breaking ICANN regulations by harvesting information from WHOIS data which is being used in cold call telemarketing campaigns.

And who is going to call to complain to law enforcement, the telemarketer/scammer?

They called me 3 times in a four hour time period.  Blocked

I just registered to go daddy 2 days ago and I've got 5 phone calls from the same Indian guy in less then 2 hours. I recognize the guys voice, he's called me before with other scans on other numbers and everytime I yelled at him he starts screaming back and says Oh yeah you think I called you before then what's my [***] name and then hangs up one only to call me over and over again to piss me off cause he knows I won't pick up...

I purchase domains all the time.  This is the first time purchasing from Go Daddy and I have been inundated with calls and emails (I purchased the privacy protection).  Never again.  Definitely a case of you get what you pay for.  Lesson learned.  Go Daddy is the worst!!

reading all the comments above, I also recently purchased a domain and was trying to create a site from Go Daddy.  These people who are trying to blow up my line today is ridiculous!  Blocking all their #s!!!

Actually I got the same calls and spam after registering with Go Daddy. They also scam / extort with their privacy feature. Here is what I think happens - Go Daddy sells the information to the scammers, they call you incessantly ( three times a day at the moment) and you get fed up and ask Go Daddy for privacy. That's how a racist misogynist big game hunter builds a billion dollar company. But yes, we have to go back to them since they have a monopoly and there is no one ethical in the domain industry.

I bought some domains from Go Daddy like I have through the years. One day later, I've got tons of spam web site developers from India or wherever and reported the enormous text spams and emails to my provider of my phone. This particular number has called me over 10 times a day. I downloaded an app to block numbers called  "Should I Answered" from Google Play and now those jerks are getting blocked. I've never had problems from Go Daddy before until this time. I've been with them over 15 years. I'm calling a Supervisor at Go Daddy today. I'm outraged. It's hurting my work business. I'm so mad. Similar numbers to this are ALL scams and same thing Web Developers.

I got my domains from godaddy two days ago and I"m receiving these calls.  I guess I should have made them private.

This number is from Elagoon Digital, trying to offer services after I bought a domain. They called me 6 times in two days, I finally answered just to find out who they were. Hopefully they will leave me alone now.
Google Domains offers free privacy services, I should have signed up on the first day.

(469) 294-3890 Continues to call my business - 5 or 6 times a day. As a business account with phone company we cannot block calls because it is a landline. Its disturbing daily office to have to grab continuously redialed number; especially because if it was at least was even a good scammer it would be automated and there might be some satisfaction slamming the phone down, but it's not.. lame.. dead silence.. looking for office staff to say something..

Although others make it available on request, certainly godaddy promotes your details at best. Likely selling it. I've had hundreds of domains from other services, and one from godaddy, and the calls haven't stopped. Thankfully I never answer my phone <3 The caller impersonates police, irs, google, etc. Why they are allowed to do this is beyond me. Like all controls, banning business calls would only encourage these clowns.

I go through this BS everytime I purchase a domain, you can choose to keep your private information private for $7.95, but I choose to just block the number. This group of [***] clowns in Frisco, TX have been blocked on my phone for a while.

fuuuuuck godaddy. in the face. if you don't pay for their $6 "domain privacy" fee, your info gets dumped out to spammers/scammers/etc almost instantly.

Thank you for the info.  It all makes sense now.  I just got a domain through GoDaddy and since then my phone has not stopped ringing.  No messages left.  So, I figured it was BS.   I'm disappointed with them to have caused this issue!  Thank you for your post and sharing :)

It has nothing to do with who the registrar is; if you don't have domain privacy, it's public info, and you'll get spammed.

You do realize there are civilian employees of the Sheriff's Department right?  At at no time based on what they said did they say they were a law enforcement officer.  So no crime has been committed, but nice try though.
