Thank you for your information. This company contacted my office looking for me, the owner. Asked for my cell number. Thank goodness my staff is educated in handling such calls. I called the company and complained. Not that that will do much but it felt good. I am also issuing a complaint with the BBB so that there is a record. I suggest others do the same.
Thanks again for your research and information.

Very rude, harassing phone calls.  They call about every two weeks and won't stop calling after being repeatedly asked not to.  We tell them we are not in need of a collection service and they just keep talking.

This guy with what sounded like a southern accent called and asked for my boss...when I told him he wasn't available he loudly replied with some sort of explicit language...that's a great way to get business.

I get a call from a guy from this number all of the time at least once a week - when I answer with the company greeting he very quickly just says "John, thanks"  (He keeps looking for the former owner who has retired and sold the company over a year ago)  As I have told this guy several times this, I now just say "John (different last name who IS at our company), sure just a moment please."  Then he very quickly says "no, John (former president's last name), thanks."  I tell him again (for the billionth time) that this person has retired and sold the company and then he tries to pressure me for the new owner's name (first off, which owner - it's an LLC??? and like I'd give a telemarketer that info when every telemarketer we get, I am told "dump 'em").  He always gets put into voice mail, but he never leaves a message - I hope this guy realizes that no matter what, he will always get the same response as this is what the owners want me to do.  Still, I find it funny that a telemarketer honestly thinks that just because they talk fast and ask for the owner (or former owner) by first name and sound as though they're in a hurry and like they know the person that the "Gatekeeper" (yes, that's what we're called - I used to work in operational reporting in a call center)would be that dumb to just blindly transfer through without the caller giving name or company info...

Jeff Buono says in his post about that this is not representative of his company.  I find that hard to believe.  He is the VP of Sales.  His scumbag sales people seem to all be coached the same way.  We have been called numerous times and they all have seem to have the same training and a similar schpiel.  Therefore, I think management is either complicit in their behavior or just inept and detached.  Either way, this company, Haller, Harlan & Taylor, is bad news, at least for their sales tactics.  To me, it seems that they are using their agressive and obnoxious collectors to do sales calls for them.  How stupid is that!  If these folks call me one more time, since I have asked them to stop calling, I will contact law enforcement.  Why law enforcement and not the FCC?...because their calls are not simply telemarketing, they are harassing.

These guys are agressive, but the fact of the matter is they get results.  I turned over a company that ripped me off for $25,000.00, the company was a corporation that changed the name of their company, and they still collected the money in 2 days.  That are pushy but I guess that's probably because they deal with people that don't want to pay their bills.

If companies paid their bills we would not be in business. All of you debtors on this site should pay your bills like the rest of us AMERICANS and companies like this would be OUT of business.  GO OBAMA!

Caller claimed that my organization was indebted to a contractor whose bill we had paid in full 2 months prior to the call.  Caller claimed that legal action was imminent and that my firm owed some ridiculous amount (down to exact dollars and cents, wonder whose ass they pulled the number out of) and threatened to add "attorneys fees, immediate litigation, asset and liability search, and credit reportage (sic)" to said bill.

The caller identified himself as being with HH&T and stated that he "had been retained" by our contractor.  His suggestion? Send a cashiers check payable to Haller Harlan & Taylor within the next day (!), or an immediate wire transfer of funds directly to HH&T - or face legal consequences.

Luckily, my firm was on excellent terms with our contractor and we quickly found out that not only had we paid our bills in a more than timely fashion, no one had ever contacted HH&T.  At the very least, Haller Harlan & Taylor is guilty of phone fraud.  We got lucky because we had fast and cordial communication with our supposed "debtors."  Who knows how many folks their unscrupulous desk jockeys have scammed!  Stay alert.
