- Single MomI get calls from Santander all the time now, unfortunately I cannot even give them $100. I need my car, but I also have to keep a roof over my 2 year old son's head and food on the table. I explain this to the rep and I was treated like trash. I am living pay to pay and I have no one to turn to for help. Sometimes I just feel the only way out of my mess of a life is to end it.

- Debbie in Va replies to Texan| 8 repliesSANTANDAR is a debt collection agency that bought car loans from HSBC(they don't offer car loans anymore). They call me 8-10 times a day if my payment is 1 day late, stating 'VERY URGENT" they get in touch with me. They are bothersome, and I think it is rude that no one leaves a message what it is concerning.
- spamassassainHere's what I received from the FCC:
The best way to provide all the information needed for the FCC to process your complaint is to complete fully the on-line complaint Form 1088 which can be found at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. The Form 1088 first asks you to select the specific telemarketing activity that you are complaining about, and then directs you to a section of the form that asks specific questions relevant to that activity. - Stuck Too replies to HSBC REFUGEEHate to tell you, but HSBC is the The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, now headquartered in London, but still owned by the Chinese. As of 2009, it is both the world's largest banking group and the world's 6th largest company according to a composite measure by Forbes magazine. They sold off ALL of their auto loans to Santander.
- Neil HodgeThey call and leave no message
- Dee| 1 replyIt's Santander and they are annoying. The minute you are more than 5 days late they start calling you 8-10 times a day. They called my home phone, my cellphone, my job phone until I finally told them that they are misleading because they say they are a debt collection company. They are an auto loan company who HSBC sold their auto loans to because we "Americans" are falling behind and they did not want the black mark on their pristine record. Now back to Santander, these people call every day, even on the weekends at all times. I spoke with them finally because when HSBC sold the loans I was never informed and my payment went to them. Now April's payment was a partial payment and their stupid computer payment program would not allow me to make the partial payment. So the operator took my partial over the phone and did not charge me the $15.00 service fee because I told him that it was their site's fault that the payment was late because it would not let me do the partial payment. The easiest way to get them off your back is to be firm with them and remind them that they are violating the consumer protection laws by calling you numerous times a day. The consumer protection laws state that a bill collector can only call you every 3 days and they can only call you once. Not 8-10 times.

- RoseIts a company called Santander, they took over our HSBC loan without our knowledge. We are trying to change our loan to another company because they charge you just to make your payment, even if you aren't late its 10-15 dollars just to pay your car payment. Horrible company!

- Alan6 calls today every 1- 2 hours ... I get calls like this everyday ...They leave no message ..auto dialer ..I have payed my car paymenst on or around the due date last 3 years .. I'm 1.5 car payments behind a few months ago but I pay extra every month to close the gap.. I had paid 25K down on my car and have made 18K more on payments.. what are they worried about?? it's annoying . I'll have some money in 3 months to either pay the car off in full or i'll just trade it in as the car is worth less than I owe.... I will not finance new a car like this again.. i'll just pay cash ..I won't buy a new car again.. My 2007 50K MDX Sport is now worth 35K .. I'm the bad guy ..I know ..but it pisses me off when I try to do the right things and have so much on my plate to have this constant electronic reminder that I'm their dead beat Debtor , But I need my car to survive

- Annoyedthe calls i get are for someone else after i recently got a new cell phone number. Unfortunately these idiots won't even speak to me or transfer me to a supervisor because I don't have an account with them and I refuse to give them my SSN. To make a long story short I've been told 3 times that my number will be removed from the account and still they call 5 times a day.

- JQon 5/25 i received a call from Unknown Caller @ 1:28pm, 2:53 pm,4:59pm,7:27pm,8:50pm and then the next day it was Drive Financial that called from their number (identified on caller ID as such) 5/26 Drive Financial called me @ 8:26am (they were running late usually they are right on at 8:am),9:18am,12:42pm,2:16pm,3:22pm,4:38pm,6:46pm7:51pm,8:00pm8:29pm on 5/27 they called @8:00am,8:29am,10:25am,10:59am12:41pm, i.c. systems called @2:07pm, Drive called again @2:44pm, 3:40pm5:26pm,6:55pm,8:30pm and today so far FAX PHOENICIA called @ 8:00am and they are due to call again soon. I think when their is a long pause between calls it's because I am on the phone with usually one of my children and they always try to call in while I'm on the phone with them also. All these names of these companies are connected to the same place Santander aka HSBC and I just wanted to show what my day consists of and what I have to put up with having my phone run off the hook all day long. Now mind you I am disabled and can't walk fast and when i get to the phone and see it is them I don't answer but I have tried speaking to them and because even though I am the wife my name is not on the car loan app just my husbands and so they won't speak to me. I have tried telling them it doesn't do any good to call during the day because he works and cannot receive calls at his work. And, even given them a time frame they are allowed to call and they are suppose to make note and abide by it but they don't and continue to call not stop usually every 1/2 hr. the calls that i get from them while on the phone w/ someone else doesn't register on my caller ID to show that they do call more times. About every 1/2 hr. 45 min. I have even had them call me from one name and # and then turn around and call me from a new name and # and then turn around and call me from yet another name and #. Like I didn't answer the 1st call what makes them think im going to answer to them on the other ones? Whatever you do don't ever go with HSBC to get a car loan. This is our 2nd time dealing with them. The 1st time we had no probs. and I actually had no probs with them but now you late on one payment or skip a payment they harrass the hell out of you.

- JQ replies to DeeThanks for the tip and information I to am going thru the same problem with this company. I am so sick and tired of the way they treat us and harrass us. It needs to stop and us as consumer's need to stand up and fight for our rights. Trust me if i could refinance and get away from this company I would. Speak of the devil they are calling right now at 9:46am, @ 8am they called under a different name.
- AnnoyedSome are very helpful and others well..... just plain idiots with their subtle " it would slow the repossession process" threat, for one car payment??? Idiots, take the car back we're in a recession, and who is stupid enough to buy loans in this economy???

- Fed-up with Santander replies to HSBC REFUGEE| 9 repliesI am filing a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for violations to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, (FDCP-Act) Section 806 ( Harassment or Abuse) committed by Santander. I was making monthly payments to HSBC and suddenly, in March 2010, Santander started calling my residence and cellular phones. The calls are every day including weekends, which is another violation of the Act. I am planning to file a class action suit.
If someone would like to join me in this class action suit, I can be contacted at:

- jennaThis is now Santander they did buy out HSBC's auto loans as well as Drive Financial, they do call from different locations every few days and have called my cell phone on a regular basis like everyone else says if a payment is one day late they call several times each and everyday... can't block them because they use different numbers with different area codes from all over the world and they don't read their notes so even if you talk to them every day and tell them the payment has already been mailed they will still call you religiously every single day and ask you the same questions from the same script but what bothers me the most is that every single time they call my cell phone they insist on verifying my address, phone, dob and social before they will hang up ... even if I tell them it's the same, read the notes, the payment is in the mail, don't call my cell phone anymore (which I have told them repeatedly) and/or i will not verify my social to someone calling my cell phone from an unrecognized number....same deal every day until they receive the payment it's maddening to the point I don't even look at my cell phone anymore when it rings because I'm sure it's them around payment time...
