- Vdonti replies to Texan| 3 repliesThe name is Santander. This company bought out my auto loans from the co I financed with. They have hundreds of different numbers they use to call out from. Most are from the 214 area code.
- KathyI have ask them to stop calling my cell phone. They call everyday starting the day after you are late even when you tell them when you will make you payment. I am looking to get away from them and will never do business or recommend anyone do business with them ever again. To me they are a sneaky disreputable company and I will so glad not to have to deal with them again. I am sending a letter of Cease And Desist any calls other than my home. If I get calls after that I will seek help thru an attorney

- Caller: Santander
- Mack replies to Vdonti| 2 repliesYes, they are Santander and took over payments from HSBC Auto Finance.
- BillYeah, it's the company that bought RoadLoans. They're a real pain in the ass if your car payment is a day late. I'm about 500 bucks from payoff, so when that's done in a couple of months I'll know not to finance through them again.

It is a joke what companies are allowed to do! HSBC, always cashes my check late, in order to force a $25 late fee! This is nothing more than manipulated theft. Unless people respond in every manner possible, companies will continue to be allowed to do "business" in this manner. So, stand up for your rights.- Caller: HSBC/Santader/Drive Financial
- ccThese people are driving me insane, they call my house every single day, 3 or 4 times a day, but they never leave a message. I've read some of the complaints, I do not know who they are, I have never had any dealings with them, I do not owe any money on any of my cars, they have been all been paid for for at least 4 years. This is ridiculous.
They also call from 214-540-2035, same thing happens.- Caller: out of ara
- HSBC REFUGEE replies to Texas| 15 repliesSantander is a company that bought out HSBC. I have a loan with them at the time of the buyout or whatever it is. They sent out a letter informing all that as of 15 March all payments will be made to them. Unfortunately I had already sent mine to the old address in San Diego to HSBC. Now it is up to them to forward all payments to this Santander for processing. In the meantime though I have never missed a payment to HSBC they (Santander) are calling my house and both of our cell phones daily. They didn't even miss Easter! The person I spoke to in Barcelona Spain told me that during the transition period no late fees would be assessed and that monthly statements would be sent out. I never got a statement from HSBC in all this time so this will be refreshing. In the meantime the calls continue. This is going to be interesting and I can’t wait to pay my vehicle off and see the backside of this company. What is our country coming to that we let foreign nationals buy out our companies? Very sad times we live in for sure!
- Read The Laws People replies to Geno| 2 repliesThe following solution does not apply to Santander. The Fair Debt Collection Act does not apply to a company attempting to collect it's own debt. It only applies to third party debt collectors. Doing this will only waste your time and a postage stamp.
Notify them in writing to cease communication, according to the Fair Debt Collection Act:
(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION. If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except --
(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are being terminated;
(2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or
(3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy.
If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt. - amy waltonharrasing unlimited number of calls from this number, no message left. If answer no one speaks.

- PJ In NCThis callers has called at least ten times a day for a week now. I do not answer as it says it is out of area. They leave no message. They are very aggravating. Also I had gotten calls from the 214 area codes over and over, which came over the phone as Drive Financial. Do not know why they keep calling as all cars here at this address has been paid for. My number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST, but I guess it is pointless to have it there, as I continue to get these kind of calls all the time. I think everyone should start reporting to someone higher up, and maybe it will get stopped...

- Sparky replies to TheBigBentleyWhen gas was really high this time last year I was spending $100 a week on gas because of the distance I have to travel and having a bigger engine. So YES one can spend the equivalent of their car payment on gas.
Until an uninsured motorist totalled it and now I am paying for an imaginary vehicle. Which is even more fun than paying for gas! :) - Sparky replies to not tellin lolUh, I think they ALREADY know you're late....is why they are calling.
