Listen to all that craziness.  As I said earlier.  If you create a debt you need to pay it and stop looking for reasons not to pay it like using the FDCPA as a shield.  If you need to verify a collections agency/ Attorney collecting against you all you have to do is call the original client and they will inform you of who they referred your debt to.  Simple enough right!  On the contrary all most all debtors do not want to own up to their failures.  It's only human.  Oh yeah the FDCPA does not apply to commercial debt so stop bringing it up.  For business debts.  Debtors use vulgar language, racial slurs and make threats to collectors but they want the collector to hand them a rose and 2 tickets to Cold Play.  Get out of here!  You catch bees with honey and flies with...  I'm just saying.  To get respect you have to give a little.  I can assure you if you treat a debt collector with kindness you will get some in return.  Even if this is not the case Just stay calm Like our president even when things are not in your favor.  Better yet just hang up you do not have to take abuse from anyone calling you.  Then again it all falls back to you create a debt you pay it before it goes to collections and God forbid litigation.

God Bless America and Every Other Country.

True the FDCPA applies only to individuals and not businesses, my mistake, my apologies. You'll have a hard time collecting from those who thought they were improperly charged. Best of luck (can't believe I'm wishing a debt collector luck).

My apologies, please ignore my post above. Had not read this thread thoroughly and had erroneously concluded this is personal debt. The FDCPA does not apply to business debt and this thread is on business debts.

I also am getting phone calls from this company.  It's for our business and I tried to call back from my home phone and they got my home # now.  It's for a debt for Yellowbook in which they say we owe for one month's advertising plus all these late fees and finance charges.  Those late fees and finance charges were suppose to be removed (according to a manager), but instead my payments were being applied to these fees.  I could never get them to send me proof of the balance, so just ignored all the statements.  Now they have this collection agency calling and sending letters.  What happens if I just ignore them?

Hey [***]-your company commits fraud on a regular basis;our company has hired an attorney and I can't wait to show the court all of the illegal letters and RECORDED threats you losers have made.
FYI-NY State has the toughest collection agency laws in the country to protect consumers from criminals like you.
Your company is so stupid and your joke of a company doesn't even know NY State collection law.
    What a bunch of idiots.
Also-why does our attorney keep winning in court against you guys??

This company is Fraudulent - They called a Google # I had set up for temp purposes for a period of 3 months.  ( don't worry - it was for legit purposes)  This firm called me stating that I owed money to a firm that I have heard of ( a fortune 1000 company but have never dealt with -ever!)  And this phone # that I set up was not associated with with any business and never conducted business through it.  Karly Johnson of this firm said that they sent me an email regarding the case against me and I needed to address it or they would take me to court.  I would not give her my name and she was upset with that. She also did not have a name to provide to me.  I told her they are fraudulent and scam artists and to have a nice day.  She then became irritated with me and threatened court action - I said have fun and I would have happy to drag her to court and sue her. Then I hung up!

I got a call fram a young woman stating she was from the Rauch and Milikan law firm as they had been retained by Yellowbook to collect a debt.  She didn't give a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act warning and couldn't tell me why the FDCPA didn't apply to her or her company as a debt collector. She said that I shouldn't go by what I read on the Internet.  I advised her I was going by the FDCPA as I understood it as a licensed attorney.  She ended by saying that I will see them in court.  I guess so....

They called my cell number for a private matter related to the company I work for and am not even related to. They've been told not to call or bother the company several times, now they will be reported (and hopefully sued).

same as above...they're collection agency for yellowbook...in my case yb agent was told we'd only budget $130. per month for whatever ad we could get for that amount...this worked okay for ten years and i think nearly ten reps...a year ago another new rep showed up and was informed of our yb budget he agreed to this and had us sign papers quickly and left....month later we get a bill for $185. per month....called to get this guy but could never reach him...we contested this excess amount and explained this to another new rep...she tried to work out a deal with yb, now called hibu, but they said no...i stopped paying this bill and tried explaining that we only budgeted $130. per month and would pay this and retain our account...the gal in their credit dept. went nuts on me and started threatening me with everything including an abrams tank...these people are very stupid and crude...ignore them

I can almost guarantee the second rep was not with Yellowbook. There a ton of yellowbook and yellowpages wannabes out there that try to pass themselves off as being the real yellow pages. They will send you something that looks like a bill and then harass you when you don't pay it.

These people, like Personnel Concepts (and don't get me started on those sleaze bags) are the lowest of the low.
