    Me2!
These people, with Indian accents, call me quite frequently.  Matter of fact, got a call today and put my husband on the phone.  With any hope, they won't call back. One day, the caller claimed to be coming in from Microsoft, then from My PC Care, it's always something with these people. They call from different numbers with many different area codes, so it would be hard to track them down. I've called my telephone service provider, I've gone to the police, and I've just been told to trace the number when they call.  It's a hot mess! Just be careful not to give out your personal information because they're SCAM ARTISTS!

We receive calls from this number about every two weeks, but no one is ever on the line and after a few seconds a computerized woman voice says "Godbye". The problem is these calls are coming in before 7:30 a.m.

I does not do any good to block a spoofed number, which is probably not in service. They regularly change the spoofed number.

I find Caller-ID and an answering machine to be invaluable tools. I do not answer numbers that I do not recognize. If it is a legitimate and important call, they will leave a message. Sometimes even the con artists leave a message that I can transcribe into a complaint.

I did answer but after the 3rd ring I picked up but no one there. He used to call my husband's business claiming to be Microsoft. Now he's calling my number? My husband used to jerk this guy around. The guy would get so befuddled it was hilarious.

I haven't read the whole 68 pages but I thought I'd add something.  They may want to steal your money, they may want to get your passwords, but one of the big things these days is to use the malware to make your computer part of a botnet that can be used to send out spam or launch denial of service attacks.

It won't be long before they start calling you, your family, your work and claim they can send you to jail for not paying the nonexistent loan and you gave them the information to do it.
Change every phone number and account number you can and set a fraud alert with the credit bureaus.

    A little leary
Just got the phone call from this company claiming to be Windows Support System, stating it was urgent that I open up my computer so they could help me fix the problems that would cause my windows system to crash. He actually began yelling at me when I began asking questions, so I politely asked him to stop yelling. Then I asked him if he would be able to call my husband instead, and he agreed, as he asked for the phone number, he hung up. Where do we report this scam?

Just received a call from this number.

No clue as they don't leave a message.

Thinking of using a mega phone, but the people at the other end might just be a hapless flunky doing their job.

Just got another call, answered this time.

Slight pause: Someone named Shaun with a very thick Indian accent.  Claiming to be calling from IT Home Phone Services.

Hard to make out due to heavy background interference that is indicative of an overloaded phone line.  I had to yell to be heard because of the interference.

Told him I was getting very annoyed at being called so many times.  At least he was polite enough to apologize.

    Feeling like an idiot!

They called yesterday (8/27/2012) and I like a dummy did exactly as they said. They showed me all the error/warning messages that my computer contained and then my hard drive had 1385 problems. Said I should have never let my warranty expire. They said they would correct all the errors for (4.5 hrs) free but needed $120. for the silver warranty (2 yrs) to have it registered. Now what do I do????  Was I hijacked??

Keep getting calls from this number, 510-943-3040. Finally answered it because I used to live in the area (Fremont-East Bay) and thought it might be an old friend trying to reach me. Heavy Indian accent stating he was calling from Windows. Told him to never call my number again..."understand"? He said yes and then started to be belligerent. Hung up on him. Don't answer the call.

Never let anyone in your computer. This is a scam. Not sure of the consequences, but certainly do not give them money.

Also.....The lines are garbled because the calls are being transferred from India through a U.S. phone number.
