i just recived the same call some type of nationality it is someone trying to sucker you into download a virus while having you think is something else it sounded like one of those taliban basterds fcking cow sht

Oct 9/12 - about 5pm. Area code 613. Received similar call from same number: 510-943-3040.

The caller identified himself as a Windows technician. His company was contacting all Windows users to warn about malicious hacking signals and our computer was sending them. He was sincere, urgently wanted to help us, but spoke quickly with a heavy Indian/Pakistani accent and was hard to understand. Answers to "Who do you think you are calling?" "Why hasn't Microsoft or our ISP alerted us?" were confusing. His boss, a woman with same accent was just as sincere, forceful and confusing.  

I said 'no thanks', hung up, and contacted our ISP, Rogers Cable. The technician confirmed it as a scam, that we were properly protected against attacks, and should report it to:

Just got it myself. I just asked "Mark" to tell me what IP address he had for my infected computer and he hung up immediately. I'm in Massachusetts, btw.

I got a call from this number today and its absolutly phone scam. He is an indian guy who tries to get your credit cart number with saying different things.

I got a call today, October 12, 2012, for this same BS computer repair nonsense.  I'm in London, Canada. I talk to them and just confuse the sh*t out of them.  I like to waste their time.

I just got telephone through my cable Internet. These people just called me. I didn't answer, but my laptop immediately froze up. Now it won't come back on. Coincidence?

Unplug the switch/router for a minute or two, then plug it back in.  Restart your computer.  It should work now.  Most problems can be fixed by rebooting.

got the same call, told them to take me off their list. not sure where they got mine either I'm in the upper peninsula of michigan, I see some canada calls, so wondering if they are targeting the eastern side of continent...

These guys are INSANE!!  They have called me from several different numbers - 6265749227, 6184631412, 6072318335 and now 5109433040.... Again, thick east indian accent... telling me I have a malicious virus on my computer... that they have been monitoring my surfing and I must go to some website.  I asked how long they have been monitoring... he first said today, now... then he said past 3 months.  I said... hmmm that's interesting, considering I don't have a PC.  He said &uck and hung up.

I am glad I don't have you for a relative. I have lots of relatives in Europe and they also have strange numbers that I don't always recognize. So, not answering is not always an option for everyone.

This phone number called me at 11:30pm

Just got a call a few minutes ago from them.  Most of what he said was so hard to understand I kept making him repeat himself, the only thing I really got was that he made some comment about people with computers connected to the internet were reporting problems so I was pretty sure it was a scam and hung up.  If I had really been thinking I would have told him I didn't have a computer in the first place and see what his response was to that.  We are on the do not call list but it doesn't seem to make a difference anymore so I went in and blocked the number, I realize they can still call but will have to use a different number anyway.

I had this number 510-943-3040 calling my home several times a week. the first time I took the call some creep with a "Dot-Head accent was trying to tell me he was going to help me with my firewall and computer. I don't "Sabu," to go F*CK his sacred cow!

Fuk you gov, all this bs about cyber and national security they cant even stop call spamming that obviously effects 10000's of ppl. Where do our tax $ go. This # calls my biz line once a week or so.

I received a call today from this number. The guy was of Asian accent. He told me something about qualifying for free grant money for education. When I told him I was already an enrolled student, he replied that it didn't matter, that all I had to do was answer a few questions. He asked if I was a U.S. citizen (to which I am), and then contradicted himself when he asked what college programs I would be interested in. I humored him and told him computer programming. Then he asked if I had a working internet. I saw where he was going. So then he asked me if I was enrolled in school. I told him once again I was. He said in order to get the grant money, I needed to just say "no," that I wasn't currently enrolled. At this point, I got disgusted and hung up on him. What idiots they are!

Keep getting calls from 1-510-943-3040.  Eastern guy with heavy accent claims he is from Microsoft and is going to help me fix all the error messages from my computer.  Tell him I don't have any errors going on and he insists I do and that I need to log on.  I tell him no and to leave me alone.  They continue to call our house.  Shows up on Id as Voxbone SA

I also got the call...Indian accent...from Microsoft, want to "help" me with my problem.  Now I have a lot of problems, but not one with my computer.   I work for a large computer company with iron clad anti virus and work through a VPN.   So this is definitely a scam.   The minute I started asking questions about who he was, he hung up....be careful out there!

Andrew, from presumably from South West Asia, detected warning messages on my PC. Technology is amazing, Andrew was very concerned about my computer and offered to fix it for me. Come on, good bye!!!
