The property is much available for the dates you have chosen (5weeks),the price is $65/night;$1800 for your total stay,to hold your dates of your rent is required ($900) + security deposit of $200= $1100,so all you need pay to secure your date is $1100.The security deposit($200) is fully refundable on your departure assuming no damage is done to the property rented to you....
All you need to pay is $950 for the reservation of the apartment also i will refund the security deposit via cash during your departure time. - Journalist looking to interview victims replies to sauerI'd like to hear your story if you've been victimized by the apartment rental scam on Craigslist or another vacation rental site. I'm a journalist who's writing a story about this scam. The scam has evolved to the point where many of the scammers are now providing bank account information (to make their scam look legit). They're asking you to transfer money from your bank to their bank. I've already contacted Bank of America who are now investigating two B of A account and routing numbers provided by these scammers.
You may reach me directly at: wisha59ner@hotmail.com - modo replies to EddieI just got two distinct offers for an appartment rental in NYC from Jane Synovec and Kimberly Wallace. I asked for a phone number to talk to the personn - and both personns gave me the same phone number, (315) 381-5286 located in Clinton, NY. They also asked for a MoneyGram payment in Terre Haute Indiana, 18 south 18th street. It's a rip off !! Thanks guys for posting this - I did not get screwed !!
- Anonymous replies to SaraHi Sara, I have been scammed for the same rent house. I paid by Western Union and then gbnson@yahoo.com didn't replay the emails that I sent him.
Be careful. - horrified| 1 replyI've got a few more names for you. I replied to theier listings for apartment rentals in NYC and received almost identical Emails from the following persons: Nicole Jams and Jane Synovec (we've read the names before), Rose Brooks (came across her name in some othe craiglist scam bust), then there is Caroline Kelly, Mike James (Nicoles brother?) and Jay Marcors. Look at all these names. They all sound alike.
Of course all the emails asked for imediate money transfer via Western Union or Money gram - that are not traceable.
identical last words from all of them: "So get back to me now if your ready for the booking so that i can send you a booking form the payment can be make via Money gram Transfer."
When i asked for paypal - no answer! as i thought :)
I gues i can give up the idea of a affordable rental in Manhattan :/ - Pat replies to Feeling Stupid in HoustonTHANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS! you have helped a lot of people.
