Thank you for your interest in my apartment. The apartment is still very much available for the dates wanted which 13th to 23rd is ($65/Night) which is $650 and 50% booking deposit of $325 + security deposit of $250 is required. The total to secure the apartment would be $575.


For me to reserve the apartment for your booking,I would issue you a booking and agreement form so that you can have it filled and send it back along with your deposit.I would gladly send you the booking form upon request and I will also be there during your arrival to give the keys and also be there on your departure to refund your deposit.You will send the booking deposit to my younger brother in Los Lunas,NM which would be through Western Union.

Note:The security deposit which is ($250) is refundable on your departure and the apartment address is 240 W 4th St New York, NY 10014.You can check it on google map to know the location and the you are free to smoke in the apartment.

thanks heavens i discovered this thread. i was just about to send $275 to sherri gordon for an apartment on 105 E 9th St, New York, NY 10003. looks so good... are you guys sure this is a fraud? she sent me a contract with lots of notes concerning pets, cleaning, sheets, etc. but she wants the desposit by western union, sent to her "accountant in Annandale VA", who's name is, of course, Wendy Accurso. damn...

do you guys have any commendations where to find a good nice apartment in nyc in september for me and my girlfriend? i don't know whom to trust on craigslist anymore. there must be some trusty, kind people out there not just wanting to rip off others... if you know some, please reply here. thanks!

I cant thank you all enough! My friend and I will be visiting New York in a couple of weeks and we went through Craigslist to find a rental. We booked through a guy named Jeff who wanted us to Western Union money to Lo Lunas, NM. It all sounded too fishy for me!

yes she is a scammer. the operate under different names with two or three addresses and you send the money to new mexico las lunas to mark coy

We DID send money to a Cynthia Justin.......glad we were able to put a stop on it.

And the money was sent to "mark coy" in las lunas (her brother) in new mexico.

Word to the wise; I'm pretty sure all these posts are from the same person, and that all of them are scams; they all respond in the same broken English and use the same phrases over and over. Be aware, you CANNOT get an apartment in New York for less that $150 a night, and anything quoting $65/$75/$100 is a SCAM. Craigslist is meant for local ads that you can verify in person, not for international accommodation bookings. Sadly, there are plenty of people out there looking to take advantage of honest people looking for a good deal on accommodation in New York -trust me, no matter where you stay, you will be shocked at how expensive it is and there are no ways around it.

That isn't to say that going to New York isn't worthwhile, its a fantastic city and somewhere everyone should go at least once :-)

Please please do yourselves a favour and book a hotel or hostel directly and pay with a credit card, or if you are going to book an apartment do it through a reputable agency and make sure it exists! I almost booked an apartment from someone and when I looked at the Bleecker Street address she gave me on Google Streetview the place was a pizzeria.

Do NOT wire anyone money through Western Union/Moneygram etc, you will never see it again!

We stayed at Hotel 17 on E.17th St and that was great, I think it was about $120 a night.

Same deal, she took 350$ from me. Went by Sharon Justin and her contact number was 315-845-6282. They had lodging request and legal sheet type stuff you had to sign..... Very very stupid on my part that i sent money through western union.

I've just heard back from this Nicolars Smith regarding his apartment in NY...
When I realized he asked a down payment of $245 to reserve the apartment without giving me any insurance... I didn't like it.  I'm glad that I listen to my hunch to bad for the deal.

I did send her an email concerning her add. Did you find out if it is a fake add?
The apartment looks too nice, well equiped and located for the price.
I am going to NY before christmas, do you know any good website to find a  nice place to stay for  7 to 10 days?

I'm the owner of the property that this craiglists posting stole the info & photos from (under the e-mail... jane.synovec724@yahoo.com ). My clients e-mail me with his big question mark! So I did some googling and found this website. I'd like to confirm that this posting is definitely a scam. She/He used my info and photos from my homeaway.com or Homelidays.com listing but change the location to Mid-town Manhattan. Please use your common sense when dealing with listing in Craiglist. $65 per night in Mid-town with the room that nice is ridiculous. You can't even get that kind of room anywhere in NYC for $100.

I agree with you. I'm the property's owner they stole the info from . Please go through the legitimate website like homeaway.com to find short-term rentals in NYC (you will see the real price of the real NYC apartment...not $50, $65, or even $100). We as a property owner had to go through a lot of paper works to proof that we really own the place. That's a good thing for you, the renter. Please...if it's too good to be true, it's probably not. Use your common sense!
