I've been called twice a day for about a week, from 540-772-7800.  The lady first told me I owed money, and asked how I would like to pay for it.  She mentioned some credit card I had never heard of.  I asked her to give me the social security number, as I knew she was mistaken.  She only gave me the last 4 and wanted mine, I told her it wasn't the same.  She gave me an address in Orlando I have never lived at.  I just moved to Orlando a year ago, and have only lived in one place.  I thought that was the end of it.

The second call, she pretended like she hadn't just talked to me.  Again, I told her it wasn't me.  She tried to get my social security number, and told me she was with a collection agency, which she didn't mention the first time.

The third call, she tried to bully me into revealing my personal information.  She said I wouldn't give her my social security number because I was the guy she was looking for.  I pretty much yelled at her that I wasn't the guy, but I wasn't going to give out my personal information, and hung up.

They have tried to call me about three times since then.

I'm currently filing a complaint at the FTC https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

Calls repeatedly never leaves a message.  If it was that important, they would leave a message, right?

I'm not sure but my sister use to work in collections and I don't think they are allowed to leave information regarding the accounts in messages or speak to other's about your personal account.

If you get a decent collector calling you they are more than willing to work out a payment plan or a deal, (within reason) with you. I owed money a while back on a emergency room visit that slipped through the insurance and they keep calling me. I finally decided to talk with them and the collector I had was very nice and helpful and worked out something that was reasonable and I got it paid off and done with very quickly. Just talk with them and they will work with you. You do get the occasional [***] but just keep trying. It's worth it to get the stuff over and done with. Hope that helps, Bud.

I just had a call from that number too. All you have to do is add them to your "reject list" on your phone... like I just did.
They can call all they want to, but your phone will not ring, you won't be charged for a miss call and most importantly , they will not bug you! They are rather ignorant too, when they call repeatedly & they are on ignore! ROFLMAO
    Desperado!!! LOL

This woman called my home phone, she never said her name or the company she is calling from, and began telling me that she was trying to collect on an account I have never heard of, so I decided to have some fun with her since she was being so rude. She tried her best to intimitade me, I don't get intimitaded. She was threatning to ruin my credit report, I told her big deal, and when I told her all she is doing is trying to collect 1200+ bucks for an account that if they do have legitimately they most likely purchased it for pennies on the dollar. After I said that she got really confused, started babbling all sorts of stuff. I backed her into a corner she couldn't get out of and she knew it. The entire phone call lasted about a minute & a half. She or anyone else from this number has never called me back. Nevertheless, I was LMAO the entire time.

I just got off the phone with these people. They never told me what company they worked for. They were extremely rude. they treated me like i was their child. Then when the first guy couldnt get any personal info from me he tagged teamed with another guy. They gave me a hard time about how i said yes. i cant help it if i have an accent but you dont have to be rude about it. they kept telling me that i had to give them 1/2 the money or else they would sue...guess i am going to court :)

V, you are a fine representative of your company.

By the way, you're on a computer. We're not watching you type. You don't have to say "umm" when you can't think of anything to say. "duh"

Calls every couple days looking for someone who may/or may not be related to me.  Very belligerent in their language.  Doesn't back down.  No matter what you say.  They have no right to contact you in regards to another person.  What they do is a "skip trace" which means they pull credit and look at similar last names (even maiden) and start calling.  It's illegal and they cannot harass you for someone else's debt.  They are taking a stab in the dark.  I have gone toe to toe with them in phone calls and they actually hang up on me!  But still call me back.  I have a friend who is a lawyer and has forwarded me info on a Fair Debt Collection Act and if you send them a Cease letter and  your rights they can no longer contact you.  I would completely report these people to the FTC and tell them you have retained a lawyer and give a # and tell them they are to contact them, at which point they are not to contact you anymore.  If you send them a certified letter they have to stop contacting you or receive a $1000 penalty per offense.  Even if you do owe there are rights and there are amounts of times they are aloud to call you per week and times.  They can still be penalized if you report them.    This collection agency is persisent, arrogant and ignorant and I think they need to be held responsible.  I will NOT have someone call me for someone else's debt and when I challenge them be hung up on.  Then called repeatedly after that.  It is unlawful, good luck every one and look up your rights!
