Just received a call from this number and the girl wanted me to verify my personal information and I refused because I didn't know who she was or was calling about.  She was rude and refused to tell me who she was with and what this was about. I do not give my personal information freely to anyone over the phone.  A reputable agency should have people who are pleasant to talk to and don't avoid a direct question about the company they are with and why they are calling.  

This number calls all the time. They are extremely rude and avoid answering questions. I would not give personal information over the phone and the jerks told me to get a job and pay my bills. Well, for their information, I do have a job and I do pay my bills except for ones that I do not owe on! If they were doing their job, they would know that!

They do cuss and harass. They did the first time they called me! I am more than willing to pay my debts but I won't be talked to in that manner! I don't talk to others that way and I expect the same respect!

I got a call from these jerks about a bill that got sent to them from the Smith Clinic ( which is no longer Smith Clinic- it was sold), I got diagnosed with a lung disease through work, the BWC is paying for my medical only they didn't charge it to my claim number, they sent it to Meade and associates for collection- they called me and got really rude when I told them it wasn't supposed to go to collection it was to be sent to BWC and not me, Finally after I called the Ohio health( the old Smith Clinic )and told them they could talk to my ATTORNEY it was removed from Meade & Associates, but they are rude and do cuss you out and threaten you and tell you that you will got to jail and they will pass it on to all the credit bureau's if you don't pay you debt, they didn't want to tangle with my ATTORNEY!!!!!!!!

You obviously work for this company- you sound just like them, well I pay my bills in full every month, I pay off my credit card when I get the bill- IN FULL- and yet I got turned in for a bill I am not responsible to pay and they insisted that I owed this bill, as soon as I mentioned my ATTORNEY it was removed and it was taken care of, yes there are people that owe money for student loans or whatnot but this place and any other bill collector doesn't have to be rude , threatening , harass or have an attitude with someone if they say they can't afford to pay at this time but if they get work or can make arrangements to pay a bill later  they shouldn't be hounded to death because they are unemployed or unable to pay when the "COLLECTOR " WANTS THEM TO PAY- NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT!!!!!!!Times are hard for a lot of people that never thought they would be in positions like they find themselves in today - but they do deserve respect no matter what. My suggestion to people that get harassed like this is to file a compliant with the cops for Harassment which is against the law.

This company is indeed very rude and I wish I could get my hands on 2 of the reps because I guarantee when I got done with both of them they would have some act right. My mother and me both received phone calls from this number looking for my husband. Supposedly my husband left my mother's number as his primary phone number. NOT!!!! When she inquired as to who was calling and why they were calling her, the person gave her some smartelic answer and proceeded to ask her questions. My mother being the nice person that she is did not fire back. I told her if they call again to tell them my husband doesn't live at her residence and they need not call her again otherwise a complaint would be lodged with the State of Ohio Attorney General's Office as well as the BBB.

Now me, when she got smart with me, I went right back at her. Don't call me looking for my husband. You have a problem with him, I suggested she do her homework and find a way to get in touch with him as 1. it isn't my problem 2. I'm not passing messages and 3. Learn to respect people if you want them to help your trifling butt out. She went on to contiinue talking and I simply disconnected the call. End of story! I will not tolerate one person's ignorance because they are feeling full of themself.

It looks like this company has legal problems according to Shill Kills post above. I recommend you all follow suit..  What is happening is flagrant FDCPA violations.

All of you follow the steps in what you need to know and send them a cease & desist letter, certified or return receipt US mail.

The BBB has given them a A+ rating.  However, in the last 3 years this is what they also said:

I made payments to them months ago, the guy I spoke with, Kent,  told me they report it to all 3 credit bureaus every month. I just checked my credit report and shocking,  nothing has been taken off. Is this a legit company. When I called their number,  the voice mail does not identify the company name. It says leave a message and we will call you back. 614-436-6160 and I also called Kent at 614-635-8100. I hope this company exists.  I will find out on Monday

My brother was bothered by these people so he paid up his debt...funny thing they say they have no proof of payment. Do not give them money!! Go directly to who u owe money to!    don't answer! Good thing about cell phone is you can send them to voicemail!! Ha!

Right & wrong. If your original debtor has sold off the debt you can't pay them. BUT! If you get a call, ask them to send you proof of debt by US Mail. Not fax, text, or email. The letter will have their name, address & phone number. It will show who you originally owed the money to, how much, & how much it is now to settle this. Usually there are two amounts on the form. A higher, and a lower amount. If your caller WILL NOT send you proof of debt, your debt may be date barred. Do a web search on debt collection for your State.

Meade & Associates collection company that can't find the number they keep calling to remove it.

Collection agencies such as MEADE AND ASSOCIATES pay pennies on the dollar to a service provider then use whatever means necessary to collect a debt in full, multiple times if possible and from whoever they can trick into paying, whether a debtor or not.  There is usually a marginal attorney on board rackets like MEADE AND ASSOCIATES one step ahead of the disciplinary counsel who reaps a fortune by running a boiler room operation on commissions alone.  They pay off lawmakers to keep sensible laws that would require service providers to do their own collections and force shady outfits like MEADE AND ASSOCIATES out of business.

This number called my 15 year old daughters phone repeatedly (more than 6x in a row).  When my daughter answered the phone the caller refused to tell her who she was, but that she was looking for her older sister.  When my daughter explained that her sister was in a different state, the woman yelled at her demanding to know why she didn't have her sisters phone number. I will have the # blocked from our phone lines and report this incident. It is not acceptable to contact my minor children and harass them. I wish I had been home as I would have had a few words for the caller.

They are absolutely stupid

This is for everyone who has posted about this company. I was a debt collector and as a debt collector it was against the law for me to be rude to customers. It's called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). There is a law firm going after this company because of its collection practices.

I know for a fact they cuss at people. My bills are paid. I checked my credit report. These people are frauds!

Nice to assume all people who have debts spend their money on cigerettes and movies. ha

Im not a person who had been called by this company but was looking up a number that has called my daughter. Although the person has been very nice to my daughter im guessing "me" isnt the person she apoke with! It is in fact people like you, with holier than thou attitudes that make people (that may very well be in financial crisis due to any number of reasons - which are none of your business) that scare away those willing to try to cover their debts. Keep your crass opinions to yourself, remember in any business environment being professional is the way to go.. don't judge! There's a saying you may want to keep in mind.. it goes something like this -
"Don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house."
If you re confused, it simply means this can happen to you.. dont be a dick!!
