got another call from this number about lowering my interest rates to help pay off credit card debt. already dealing with it through collection agencies....

The usual lower interest scam...did not answer

I called them back. I was prompted to press 2 to have my number removed. It was captured, the recording said, and accepted.  It also said it could take up to 48 hours.  We'll see.

It is all a scam and they arent calling from the reported number. They are spoofing it.

I do hope it works for you. If it does, and your number is removed from the card services scammer's robodialer list you will become the first person in history to accomplish that feat!

I do read these for inforation that may help go after these people. If you try calling the # back that showed on the caller ID it goes to a machine that confirms it was a soliciting call. I found that someone posting that the service provider was Lucre. I confirmed that information and called them and they confirmed that they could block the # from calliing anymore which means it was their service. Next step is to go after them because they obviously are in on allowing these calls to be made knowing they are violating the DNC... The DNC does not stop them but gives you ammunition against those you are able to identify in some way

Got the call and then when I tried to get a live person their system ended the call. I called the # back to confirm it was an active # and identified it was active. I tracked down the # of the provider (616)980-4140 which was on www.LUCRE.net. They won't tell you a different name for a customer but got one lady on the phone that helped. After logging in to her system she asked for the # that called. She then asked for the # that was called. She confirmed that a complaint has been filed and I should not recieve any more #s. This is enough to establish they are taking an active part in these illegal calls. By failing to provide any identity I will be and recommend readers to also take legal action. FCC and FTC provide citizens the ability to take civil action in your local courts. You can file a lawsuit for $500 per violation. Many of these soliciting calls have multiple FCC and FTC violations in a single call. If you can convince the judge that the solicitor knowingly violated the laws you can be awarded up to $1500 per violation.   Service providers do not take action unless their hands are forced since we are making the complaint and the other person is paying them money. Make it cost those actively involved and they will work harder to protect your interest.
Violations in one call
1) Violated the National DNC
2) Caller ID fails to identify the company name of the caller (Caller ID only said "LOWER INTEREST")
3) Failed to get written permission to call me for soliciting purposes
4) Failed to identify the company in the recorded message

ALL calls were robo dialers, robo message. They use random numbers and change them often so unable to block, trace or shut down.  Do not answer or engage in conversation - they are not calling because they will remove you from their list - they have no reason to do anything nice.

These people were really nice and helped me get unsubscribed.  They said it would take a day or two:

I pay for an unlisted number and I still get the calls.  Don't waste your money....

called twice today ..once showed up on id as unknown calls ..both leaving no messages

Robo call.  Female voice "This is your last and final notice about lowering your interest rates..."

Called and left message about terms / conditions. Said "This is your last and final notice" though I've been getting these calls for months now.

I just get so sick of these stupid call. If I wanted to lower my interest rate I would not wait for a phone call from
some unknown people. If you go to speak to them they hang up on you.

I have told off these idiots at least 5 times and told them to stop calling.. NO ONE in my house has a credit card and I have told them that all 5 times. I bought a whistle... If they call back, I'll see if that gets their attention!!

If you have call forwarding...forward it to 888-382-1222 the do not cal numbe.

Got a phone call (1:37pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize.  
(Does this mean that they are involved in Interstate Fraud?)  
They, of course, left no message.  
As always, I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.  

I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a couple of years now.  
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)  

I'm going to

Got another phone call (1:38pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize, that I have marked in my contact list as a "Telemarketer" with a silent ringtone.  (This number is #50 of 50 so marked.)  
(Does this mean that they are still involved in Interstate Fraud?)  
Once again, they of course, left no message.  
As always (especailly with numbers marked as "Telemarketer"), I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
