Your reasoning sounds correct. I work for the Democratioc Party (the only party which helps those in need) as a polling place greeter each election. The Republican Party has redefined the word "liberal" to mean something bad. We need a much kinder (liberal) America.

Received a call from this number tonight and they did not leave a message - hung up after 4 rings.

Just pick up and tell them not to call you again.  Nonprofits are exempt from the DO NOT CALL Registry.  It is a successful way for them to raise money.

Thanks for the info, I just got this call today ... Thanks to cell phones, I can now store these junk numbers and program them to ring silent. I wish there was a way to block them, as I don't want to take up so much space on my cell phone directory for such junk. I e-mailed T-Mobile to find out how I could block calls. They never answered me.

This is an donation solicitor TELEFUND. They harass people calling repetedly . I suspect it's a fraud operation but don't know for sure. They call using different phone numbers. I also have recieved calls from them using 512-916-4001. They probably have telematrketing operations located in different locations. If you ever answer once you'll only get more calls.

Answering machine picked up, there was a very annoying audible tone followed by a click. Did a reverse phone search that resulted in Telefund Inc, which in description company was noted as being "...a for-profit organization that specializes in raising funds via the telephone for non-profit organizations."

I wish people would leave me alone! I don't go anywhere and people still manage to bug me. Yeah, I'm anti-social and can't even call my home my castle anymore.

This number calls me once every day or two.  Never leaves a message.

'info@telefund.com' I e-mailed and asked to be taken off their call list. i hope they stop.

I have been recieving calls from this number for 2 weeks. It rings 3times then hangs up befor I can get to the phone, really irratatind! How can I stop it.

I started getting calls from them last week.  Didn't answer at first but finally did yesterday.  Calling from the ACLU.  I asked the caller about what they did and she told me that they do fundraising for a bunch of organizations and because it was for non-profits, they were exempt from the do-not-call list (I looked that up and it is true).  I asked to be removed from their calling list and the caller agreed to do it.  I didn't get any more calls today, so I guess that worked.  

I also called the number back and left my number to be removed as well, so that probably helped.  

I would say just call the number back and leave a message with your number and they will stop calling.

There were at lease 4 calls from this number today.  I hit *69 and each time it was the 617-292-7701.  They never leave a message.  I have also been getting calls from a collection agency, but told them I would not pay the bill because I did not feel I owed it.  I do not know whether that has stopped them or not.

Same thing with me... every day I come home and my caller ID shows a call from Telefund, but no message.
I am not interested in receiving calls from them, however cannot seem to get rid of them.

"786-369-7342 -warranty alert" and "617-292-7701 and telefund, inc" both called, I picked up ( wasnt sure if my boyfriend  ordered something) and they coughed and hung up. I called back got a long recording and hung up on them... They keep calling, I havent answered after I saw this site.  They need to be stopped!!

Received a call from this number today and answered it; they indicated they were calling on behalf of a charity another resident had done business with.  When asked to identify the charity, they told us they were required by law to NOT disclose the charity's name.  Told them to remove us from their calling list and hung up.

Have called 4 times and never left a message.  I never pick up as I don't recognize the number.
