Scam Charity call from "Illinois Police"

"Illinois Police".......yeah, riiiiiight. Blocked.

I told them I was a drug dealer(which I am not), and did not wish to make any donations to the Illinois State police.

Did not leave message on machine.

Just got a call, and I answered it to avoid the repeated ringing. He identified himself as Keith Dougherty, but nothing else. I waited for him to continue. Nothing. Then, "Are you still there?" I said that I was waiting for him to say where he'd calling from. He hung up.

Called but left no voice mail.

Received the same call today and he told me his name was Keith Daugherty also. Wanted to know if we would be willing to donate to the Illinois State Police when we receive our "donation envelopes". I told him we would keep it under consideration, he said that "we're not asking you to donate right now" and I asked if he was representing a specific district and he hung up on me. I say total scam.

The Caller Id indicated 'Illinois Police' and there was silence at the other end.

Called & left no message.  Obvious SCAMS.  Do not answer.  I blocked them immediately.

First time I received a call from this #, I do not have my answering machine on, but there's an unknown caller requesting donations for firefighters and Chicago police, because they work very hard to protect me, according to the caller. How about the additional property taxes and pick up garbage charge retroactive to January that i have paid, and have to pay, to make up for the retirement fund shortage, and the settlements for police brutality.

Police don't call asking for donations, no message so I blocked the call.

Same. Illinois Police ID, hangup when my message starts. NO id as soliciting funds. When you  call back, message directs you to another number.

I live outside of Chicago and received this call for police donation from the Carbondale area!
Knew it was a scam!

If you listen carefully you can tell that this is an automated call you can confuse the computer  asking bizarre questions. Hey I figure as long as they're going to be annoying I might as well have some fun

Paid fundraising organization - sounded like artificial intelligence, for "Illinois Police Association"

Received spam call from this number. Answered they said nothing and hung up

Nobody there when I answered.  I wish the person who is calling would just talk to me.

Received a call from this number but all it said was Collinsville, IL--I never answered unknown numbers and now they are blocked!

The same silence on the other end I got when I called back.  I agree with you.
