- KSGot a call from this # also I missed it initally so I called back. The girl asked me for my First and Last name. I wouldn't give it, so then she asked me for my account number and I asked "If this is American Express, wouldn't you have that?" to which she replied "The number didn't come up so it must not be on file." To which I replied, "funny, because I just missed a call from this number." I hung up after telling her, this is a scam!

If you have more than 1 line at your business they will call on one line then call at same time so the other line will ring thinking that
you will answer the 2nd phone while the 1st phone is ringing.
Caller ID is the best solution for phones knowing not to answer the phone with annoying calls.
This number is from American Express Collections.
Beware of calls from this number.- Caller: AMERICAN EXPRESS

- MeganI just got a call from "Michael Enders" at this number. He said he was from American Express and immediately asked for my social security number. I laughed and told him to beat it.
- AFI received a call stating that there were fraudulent charges on my AMEX, and they gave me a number for card replacement. I called the number on the back of my card to verify, and they had the same fraudulent charges, and gave me the same number to contact, but they transfered me directly to it. This is a legit calling agency.

- mbpThey asked for my husband and I said he was not avilale so they hung up. Looked up the number and saw all these comments so I called the number back. Said to enter my amex # in. I hung up. Just happened to talk to Amex today about an unrelated matter and don't have a problem with my account.
- Deb replies to P| 2 repliesSo it's bogus? They keep calling my cell phone which isn't even listed on my Amex account. Is there anywhere to call to report it?

- HmiGot the call several times. Never picked up. Finally just called AMEX and reported the number. Was transferred to accounts services division. They have a record of each time I got the call. They confirmed the number was legitimate. She explained why they were calling. Totally ligit.
I had been on the phone with AMEX ealier this week after having received the call but forgot to ask about it. When I called about it today AMEX told me that the system was slightly delayed but explained why they were calling. I didn't call that 623 #. Called number on back of card. The word I got from AMEX is that this numner is ligit. If you get the call, call AMEX (#on back of your card) and ask for account services division. Good luck- Caller: AMEX

- SolarisgodHere's on for you!! I was NOT past due and my payment historay has been excellent. I kept receiving this call form a 623 area code. Apparently, I had reached a ceiling on a card with no limit. I was not behind in payments and no payment was due. They actually called 3 hours apart from each other. Additonally, they claimed they had notes from the previous caller. What burned me up was that they claimed this was reminder that any further charges would be declined until the minimum charge was made.I lost it on the 3 rd call in the same day and threated to file a compalint if the harrassment did not cease. There have been no calls and I made my payment on time.
- Caller: American Express
- AmyGot a call from this number because they were suspicious that I had not activated a new card. They deactivated the card and gave me the legitimate number for AmEx card replacement to get a new one. I immediately called card replacement and they showed the deactivation, so I feel that it was legitimate. The called identified herself as being from American Express Identity Protection in Phoenix, which a previous poster traced this number to.

- targeteerI was called from this number today and was ask about recent charges that I did not recognize. I didn't give any information and just listened and eventually the guy said "You don't trust me, right?" and I said yes and then he told me to hang up and call the number number on the back of my card which I did.
When I called they asked me about the same charges and my account had been compromised. my card has been canceled with replacement on the way.
If you get a call like this just don't discount it as fraud; tell the person you will call the official number on the back of your card to be safe.- Caller: American Express

- Johnbeen getting calls from them on my cell for a few days, on and off, leaving messages for someone who i've never heard of. Maybe the person who had the phone number before me, but i've had the same # for 3 years. Called both the number on the amex website and the number the messages told me to call. Got the exact same automated answering for both, which suggests that its legit. Asked for account number, but I just kept saying "representative" till i got a real person, and complained. Took my name and phone number, said they'd remove me from the system.
