- Angry dancall people that die six years ago wtf
- Call type: Event reminder
- JayReceived a call from this number on my cell phone, claiming to be from American Express and asking for a payment. Called American Express, they have no record of my cell phone and also said they did not recognize this number as one of theirs.
- Antiscam| 2 repliesIt's a scam. I have no Amex. Called my cell, and asked for my account #. Well, at least on my voicemail. Anyone know who to report defrauding to? I think it's about time some agency attacked hard, with the help of those who aren't stupid enough to become victims.
- GRLauren B. called from this #. There was no announcement of call being recorded, but I could her a beep. She first said no call was recorded. Later, she said call may be recorded. She was wishy washy about the recording portion. Overall, very iffy and unprofessional.
Now comes the more serious part. She could not tell me which transaction was suspicious. She did not ask any security questions. She wanted me to fax my SS# and also have someone from my employer have a 3-way call. At the same time, she refused to send the same request in writing. She was expecting me to trust her!!! In response I said, I will take all my person information the police station and have police confirm me and my info. She refused. There is a reason - not get in trouble with the law. We are profiled without any real transactional issues!!!
All this leads me to believe there is a clear motive not to leave any food crumbs. Why is that AMEX can not send a letter? Yet they expect someone to fax out SS# to an unknown fax with no recipients name? Who is accountable when the fax gets in the wrong hands?
FTC strongly advised not to fax such personal information without a letter from AMEX. I suggest if you are planning to fax, use a cover letter referencing AMEX letter along with the person who wrote it. Request the fax be acknowledged within 24 hours.
In my case, I refused to fax any personal information in the pretext of identity issues and will close my account at the end of this cycle.
I have been paying all my bills on time and never defaulted. There was no reason for the "AMEX way or the Highway approach". Sorry AMEX, you lost a customer!- Caller: American Express -623 492 6031
- Call type: Debt collector
- sb1209Called received hanged up!

- Confidential t]| 1 replyI received a call at my work number, they said that my name did not
verify on their system and that I needed to fax my social security number, drivers license , my paystub. I told them no way jose, however I told them that I could walk into any of there offices and present such information in person they said no! You must fax to this number. I refused. Now I received a letter that all my accounts with them charges are suspended. I call them back on the numbet of my actual card and was directed to the same nazy I told them that I want close all my accounts with them they said you cannot close your accounts because we cannot identifying you WE WILL CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS I never be late with any of my bills have credit lines upto $100K dont need their accounts. Hopefully they stop bother me. An important note I also told them ah you calling me at my place of work the actual Department of Homeland Security. He said then you guys should know the "patriot act regulation " The guy sound sacrastic
MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY AMERICAN EXPRESS THAT HAVE CALL CENTERS IN INDIA COMPROMISE YOUR INFORMATION TO UNDER PAY WORKERS WHICH IN TURN THOSE WORKERS COULD SELL YOUR INFORMATION TO THEIR FRIENDS OR RELATIVES - ChipitoPhishers, scammers, asking for information they don't need.
- ChipitoCalled me at work and at home twice yesterday (Aug 27).
Scammers and snakes. - Carole replies to CameronWe fell behind on our Amex. These people had our info from Amex. They took a payment from me over the phone. I'm soooo mad!!!!!!
- DesignerGalGot a few calls, but I screen with CID because vendors call all the time. I called the number, and the voice was the exact same voice as the AMEX auto pay voice. We have a few AMEX cards, and it didn't specify which card. I put one card number in, and then the recording asked for "mother's birthdate" and I got suspicious. So, I hung up and called AMEX, and the guy was clueless, so we looked it up on line. We are not late on payments, but we were over the limit on one card. We are guessing that companies now outsource to these types of companies to chase down anyone whose account gets red-flagged for any reason. Pain in the butt.
- CBCalled to inform me of a security check for new account members. Needed to verify who I was by calling me on my work phone. Didn't ask for anything except whether or not my card was in my possession. Akward, but since they didn't ask for any confidential information and they knew things that had recently happend on my account, I would have to say it was a safe call. AMEX should publish this number if they have not already done so.
- Caller: AMEX
- SharonJust got a call from this number - I am so glad I didn't answer, Thank you for this information.
- Caller: Unknown
- RebeccaThis company called me twice today too. Left a message about a fraudulent charge on my AmEx. I called AmEx last week because I was unable to make my balance due. We set up a payment arrangement and the people at AmEx were great. Now I'm getting these calls? I'm pissed off. That's just shady. I proactively called them when I couldn't make my balance due in full and they were understanding. Now they put these sickos after me? I'm very upset about this.
- Caller: Amex??
- Call type: Debt collector
- anonymousAsked me to verify my credit card information. Would not leave a call back number or her name so I can verify she was with American Express. She said she'd call back later.
- 21ben| 1 replyI keep getting these unwanted calls from 1-623-492-6031. Is there a way to block calls from this number? Seems like (from the other posts) they are posing as an American Express Card collection agency calling cell phone numbers. I just see the number on my cell phone and don't even bother to answer them...but I would like to block them because I'm being charged for each incoming call.
- RachelCalled me, asked if I was Rachel, said yes, then told me they dialed the wrong number.
I believe it to be Amex or someone outsourced by them because about an hour ago I got alerted of fraudulent charges on my Amex by email and then called Amex myself to clear up the issue and get a new card sent to me. - Sharon EaddyCalled about an American Express Card, which I don't have. Keep calling. Called early in the morning
- Call type: Debt collector
- SCAM!!DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION - IT IS A SCAM!!
They are NOT AMEX - Call Amex number on the back of your card if you are concerned about your account.
