Credit card scam, bogus offer to "lower my credit card rate".

To the low life nitwit whose caller ID is "local" and it's from Arizona while I'm on the east coast, guess what? You lose!

What is "BS"? Those Federal court cases don't exist? Attorneys general did not spark enforcement actions?

This isn't a hard business to set up, you know. Copycats and splinter groups of known lawbreakers are common in telemarketing fraud. Policing them is a frustrating and long process, in part because our phone system was not built with concern for security or user authentication. If you think you can do better, find the name and address of whichever creeps abuse this phone number and sue them yourself.

The US Do Not Call Registry went live in 2003, the same year Sith Lord Cheney and a Republican controlled Congress decided that invading Iraq would fix the Middle East, and Bush Junior declared the "Mission Accomplished" on an aircraft carrier deck. Personally I think Obamaphobia is long out of fashion. But you'll continue to misplace blame when President Trump is too busy erecting a thirty foot wall around Fort White House and putting in his new drone-defended golf course in Virginia to listen to your gutless whining.

The Telezapper was built for an older era of analog telephony, when simply issuing Special Information Tones was enough to fool junk callers. Today's autodialers can tell that the call completed to your phone, making a liar of your phony SIT.

"Remove from your list" does not properly invoke your rights. Telemarketers have a duty to add numbers to their internal no-call lists on request. Of course, they also have a duty to avoid DNC-registered numbers, which criminals with autodialers don't respect.

State and Federal no-call registries perform their deterrence function quite well, given the many companies which worry about compliance enough not to cold-call you. Honest companies which value your business make a choice to honor your registered opt-out. Criminal types with autodialers make a choice to violate laws and commit fraud upon the public, using cheap VOIP and Caller ID spoofing and slave wage foreign call centers to help them evade punishment.

The recorded message indicated an offer of lowering my credit card rates. I pressed 1 to get a live operator, but the message repeated. I pressed 1 again and the male voice answered asking if I were interested in lowering my rate. I asked if they could go lower than 0%. I heard my phone click gently and go silent. "I said "hello! hello! hello!. to give my wife a chuckle.

dial  *60   and you can block up to 10 numbers!!! Easy and fast. You owe me one.

And a call blocking device does up to 1500, area code blocking as well.
Do a search on call blocking devices and phones.If its a cell phone, there are free call blocking apps out there including trac & straight talk.

Some idiot called in order to hang up on the answering machine.

Did you just recently get your cell phone?  The gov't do not call list is only going to stop callers who are legitimate companies & even some of them don't adhere to the law.  The scammers & crooks won't adhere to the law & you'll be finding out the hard way that the gov't no call list is basically a joke & isn't working like people thought it would.  So again, the gov't spoofed the people.

They said they were card services and could lower my credit card interest. I said no and they keep calling.

The 1st time that these [***] called me was on 6-1-16, they called me again today (7-14-16 @ 1:14pm) and left no message on my answering machine. Apparently they are a credit card services company that promises to lower your CC bills. Those are a dime a dozen! Better off just hanging up or not answering any calls from any of them....THEY'RE ALL CROOKS!!!

it's the ole "Rachael; from cardmember services" trick again....  Only reason why I answered it was because I was expecting a call from my boss who is in the Phoenix area this week on business and I thought it was him calling from a local land line.

Called from Card Services letting me know there was no problem with my account but to contact them immediately about my eligibility for a special offer.

I was out of town. No message left. Prime deletion material.

Shame on them for harrasing elderly in hospise.  They need to be caught.  The front desk has call the ftc.  Hope that works. They are real sob's.
