FINALLY I was able to find out the guy behind all this spoofing and get a real number for him.  He is a convicted pedophile who probably couldn't find any other job.  If you are tired of all this BS, call him at 407-734-3111 and let him know.  When I called it rang about 4 times and then the familiar "pop" and he picks up.  He will tell you he is a mortgage broker or something to that effect.  When I pressed him, he told me I was an [***]*hole and said a few other choice words and hung up.  Give this moron a taste of his own medicine.

Just called at 136 PM. Caller ID said LOCAL.  It was the recording of Rachel from Card Services giving her spiel about lower credit card interest rates. No hung up and filed an FTC Do Not Call Complaint.

I'm not sure where you got that logic. This thread describes a credit reprice fraud, of the sort busted by the FTC several times. The Telemarketing Sales Rule does not exempt a cold sales caller merely because one fails to find a live response. Similarly, Telephone Consumer Protection Act violations are counted when the offending caller attempts to connect with a victim, and not just when the connection is completed to a human or machine.

Now we know why you 'run a business out of your home.' Nobody likes unsolicited calls even from you. No one gets a phone just to be lined up in a telemarketers' or scammers sights. Yes, my 'patrician borders' are narrow and my diversity is specified only by me. If you can't hold a real job, please don't denigrate the contributions of people defending themselves from scammers. Go field a call from somewhere around the country instead. Thanks ITK...

How in your view was it supposed to work? Your federal DNC registration is not a magical shield against every nuisance caller. It does not intercept or block calls, it's not the phone police, and it's not a regulatory body. So what's left?

Your scamming callers do not maintain this site or this web page. No callers can magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. Criminals who mass-dial and violate the Telemarketing Sales Rule have no plans to stop calling you no matter what you say and regardless of your DNC registrations. They need first to be sued or jailed.

On other sites, they are reporting this number as a scam.  In a recorded message, caller says that they can lower your interest rates and you'll be prompted to enter in your credit card information at some point.

I'm pretty sure that they called me yesterday, too, but with a twist.  I went ahead & picked up the phone, because they had spoofed my name & home phone number (that I was answering on) on the Caller ID!  I wanted to know who was calling.  Then the message came on about the credit card reduction offers, but I hung up before I was transferred to someone.
