First they called three times from unknown name and no number showed up.  Finally on the last call they said who they were and they were calling on behalf of Capital One.  I told them I had filed bankruptcy and that they were not to call me again.  Within two minutes the number 636-947-2321 calls showing Client Services and left a message to call them at 866-415-1991 about my Capital One account.  I called and told them again that I had filed bankruptcy and to not bother me again.  She informed me that she could bother me any time she wanted to because I owed Capital One and I told her look I filed bankruptcy so leave me alone and hung up on her.

I just finished dinner with my girlfreind when the phone rings. "Client Services" 1-636-947-2321 shows up on the caller i.d. My girl answers and a woman is requesting to speak with a "Maria" which no one by that name lives here and once she was told that the unknown woman asks for me by name. She also claimed that she had spoken to me prevously at my home number.  I get on the phone and she asked if such and such was the last four number of my ssn #. I replied "No" and she now asked if my name was "John Doe" (not my real name) but she really knew my first and last name! I replied "yes" then she hung up on me. So, I called back and I spoke to the Client Services operator and she actually gets the unknown woman back on the line! I asked why she had called to find out more of what was going on and she acted like if she worked at the Department of Homeland Security! Like if she had some kind of Classified G #17 Information! Oh Please! the only thing she would say is that if the last four #'s of my ssn was not the same as the one's she stated for me not to worry about it, and that I'am done with you. She also stated that there must be alot of "John Doe's (not my real name) in my area and finally hung up on me! The point is how the hell did this lady & company obtained my full name and home tel. #? and they swear they act like some kind of "Special Operations" military group with their secret squirrel act!

Client services has nothing to do with NCO, and never has.. Get your facts traight

Very simple, pay your bill and when you ansew the phone dont pretend to be somebody else.  I use to be in collections, as long as you handel it in a responsible matter you shouldent have any issues.

Just another out of control debt collector.  Avoiding their call usually does not work.  First of all know your rights and the law when it comes to debt collectors. Briefly described A collector cannot Repeatedly call to annoy or harass, place telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of their identity, falsely implying that collectors are attorneys or there is the involvement of an attorney in collecting a debt.  For complete list google FDCPA.  Secondly stand up for yourself on the phone.  The collector will try to control the conversation.  Don't let them.  Don't give them ANY personal information and don't confirm ANY personal information information! They WILL try to intimidate you.  Don't let them. You need to control the conversation. You need to be as brash and harsh as they are. Basically you need to be a complete butt hole with them!   Don't hold back!  Remember you can always hang up if you become overwhelmed. These people called me and asked me to go down the street to MY NEIGHBOR, and tell him they would like to talk to him.  A man i do not know at all.  As far as I know, this is illegal in California.  Any thoughts?

I have been receiving phone calls for months on end starting early morning until late evening. I despise these people each and everyone! My husband and I rarely answer the phone because it is a recording that always repeats the same information looking for a family memeber who does not live here and has not for a very long time!!!! They REFUSE to remove my number, they REFUSE to be polite or UNDERSTANDING, they just laugh, hang up and continue the calls. Seriously thinking about canceling our landline due to there harassing annoying illegal calls!!! Why have these people not been stopped!!!

I'm get four or five calls on my cell and at my place of work every day. There is no reasoning with these people so I ignore them using caller id. I've checked all my credit reports and creditors so I know I'm okay. How does a business like this make money??? I am recommending we switch to caller  id phones at my work site so we can screen them out. This is obviously an unregulated industry that is at liberty to prey on people and so they do. Sad.

Section six - Harassment or Abuse (2)Unnecessary calls to third parties.  A debt collector may not leave telephone messages with neighbors when the debt collector knows the consumer's name and telephone and could have reached him directly.  So basically what you are saying is that the employees at Client Services are so inept that you could only find out the neighbors telephone number.

When you send a debt collector a letter you need to send it by certified mail with return signature card.  Your local post office can help you with this. The reason for this is if you don't send it certified you will not have what the courts call "proof" of mailing".  If you simply stick a stamp on it and drop it in the mail the collection agency will say that the never got it.

Client Services is a collection agency which has a rude employee.  Ms. DeShelle R. Simpson uses every low thing she can think of to harrass you and never stops.  She does not let you talk when you try to make any arrangement with her, and just says you are refusing to pay your bill.  I hope she and gary are safe in st louis since the flooding is occuring.  No calls in the past few days but usually about 7 or more every week.  She calls family and anyone who shows up on a website like intelius.  Client services could face some problems since they are probably in the flood zone.  Although they harrass me, I hope all the people are safe and will become more friendly to those of us who have had medical and financial problems and that is why it is hard to pay our bills.  The flooding would be a sudden problem for many people and there will be many more people who have too little money.  Have a great day and good luck to all.

Under the Federal Privacy Act if you tell them not to call you and they persist, then you can sue them. They don't care, though, because they know that people in debt usually cannot afford attornys.

Debt collectors come from the same crop as telemarketers. Use Call Blocking to block them, but be advised that they change calling phone numbers more often than gas stations change prices.

I didn't know I have been getting calls from these yuppies, but my sister has said they are rude and annoying. What is the best way to get rid of them??? HELP.
