- sarah replies to rickey| 1 replyYeah, I got the same call today. I was a little more gullable as I am applying for jobs outside of my home state (CO) so as far as I knew 646 WAS an Ohio area code...I had missed the call and didn't get around to calling it back until I was on my way to work. When I heard that I needed a computer in front of me I figured ah screw it I'll do it tomorrow...luckily...I'm not as quick to catch on to scams as others! Thanks for all the info!
- Patrick replies to Arlene| 1 replyI got a call from 646-520-0697 saying I got a job offer. So I checked it first. Thanks for the heads up everyone.....
- Slcgirlie replies to PatrickI just got a call from this same number. I didn't answer because I am actually at work. I sent out several resumes a couple of weeks ago. One of which I remember distinctly asked if I would like to further my education before I could continue with the application process. This is irritating.
- BoozyTheClown| 2 repliesSame number called. I think I applied to a railway worker position. The same company is offering warehouse and dockworker positions. The name of the company ,I think ,was Action Marketing. Its now listed under company confidential. This was on Yahoo Hot Jobs. Its is a college scam or something.
- Lue replies to sarahI received a call from 646-520-0697.I am glad you guys are on here giving out this info.I am searching hard for a job to feed my family and survive and you have these people praying on us at a time like this.I tried the number back after I listened to my voicemail. Then decided to investigate the number and found this. This has really made me mad!!!At the moment Iam currently on hold waiting now for 9 minutes for someone to pick up.Meg has informed me I applied for a customer servidce job and she wants to verify my info.Asked her for what company sai;d she has to keep the company confidential at this time.Advised her then I can't give any info and will not need their service. She tried to verify info anyway.Told her to place me on her do not call lists. She hung up on me.So much for that job.:)
- JinxxI got the call at 9:25am today and ignored it assuming if it was important enough somebody would leave a message. I'm glad I keep coming to this site before I try and call people back.. This is, I believe, the third number that's (accrding to this site) falsely asking me for my personal information.. It seems a little bit off to me companies that will call and leave no message. Why on Earth do people scam others in the first place? I just don't get it personally.... But I do know if they call me back, I'll ask for my number to be deleted...
- Jinxx replies to BoozyTheClown| 1 replyEy Boozie
Question..??? Are you recieving e mails from, god I don't even know what site, about warehouse workers 15 to 20-some bucks an hour..????? Is that the ones you were referring to??? And they keep e mailing you about your information over and over and over again and finally you're just all alright dude.. SPAM!!! Is that the one?? Possibly..??? Cause I've been trying to find out wtf keeps sending me the same thing every other week for god only knows how long now (unemployed a year now)... And now they're calling my cell and nobody is safe anywhere anymore..!!! lol - kcaGot this call as I was going through a cattle drive (i.e. Chicago Rush Hour) and didn't answer the phone. No message was left, either. I didn't call it back. Checked here first. I've been getting scam emails preying on job seekers such as myself. Folks, ya need to make the resume's PRIVATE and NOT public. Craigslist jobs are mostly scams anyway.
- mad replies to ArleneI keep getting calls from this number - no name, no message. Glad to find everyone else is too. SCAM NUMBER
- DantheTEKmanThese guys are a third party service that verifies employment for a variety of comapnies. If you have applied to a job online that uses Career Network, they are going to call you to verify your application. Their website is www.careernetwork.com
- Caller: Career Network
- thomasgot the same call, didnt answer, my rule no voice mail, I call it a scam
- N/AShe saying about a job that I applied for. I did not applied for any jobs ((((
- Caller: They call on my cell
- BoozyTheClown replies to JinxxYes. Emails requiring additional info and so fourth...asking you to submit info about bettering yourself thru college. Theres about three companies offering the same positions which, after clicking apply, direct you to the same website. After applying and answering multiple emails, it seems to run into a dead end...until the phone calls start. I figure a legit employer would leave a message and contact info...like the nice lady yesterday from a legit company. She identified herself and the reason she was calling and i called her back.
- d replies to Flint, MII'm going to go with that the two numbers are the locations of their call centers. If they are reviewing apps for the entire U.S. I don't think it really matters if they have centers in different locations. I am sure they have people working in different states that just have the numbers patched through to them. DOn't really see the big deal if they ask you about furthering your education. All you have to do is say you don't want to be contacted anymore...simple as that. It worked for me.
- texI applied for a job on craigslist a week ago. The respose was an application to an on-line education service. Now getting these calls Co-inidence??????
- Half Moon Bay646-520-0697 First I got a call from "Melissa" saying I need to verify my information because they were pre-screening for an employer who wishes to remain anonymous. Then from the same number was a "James" from Employment Select again wanting to verify information I already submitted in an application online. When I called back "James" his voicemail was the same as the automated message that was left on my voicemail when they called me. SCAM!!!
- Caller: Employment Select
- strokerslynnThanks for the info...they probably would have gotten me today. My husband was putting in aps on-line last night, and at exactly 9:00 am today both of our cell phones rang at the same time...with both calls from this number. Thought that was strange so we decided to google the number. Strange thing is we didn't put his number on any of the aps because he has a prepay phone and is always running out of minutes. Thanks again.
- chelseathis number called me and didn't leave a message?
- Dawn Moyasaid they had to verify info on me for a job..said they were calling from denver employment agency. Wouldn't tell me the name of the company or the position I supposedly applied for. Verified my personal info, name addres phone and email. then said someone would get back to me concerning the job...i think it's a scam
- Caller: denver employment agency
- Call type: Unwanted
- Minnieux replies to AshI got the call today, said I was being verified for a job I had applied for. I asked her for what company and what location, and she said it's confidential, but i'll tell you something did not feel right. They had my name, phone, address and email..I just had to verify it. I was wondering if they were phishing for my social security number. They never asked for it, but after 3 times of asking her she said she was verify for Denver employment agency. Why are they scamming unemployed people???? I am sincerely looking for a job and then these a**holes call me pretending to be verifying me for a job. I do not need this!!!!!
