- 7shel7i was in a training program and got the call from these a"o" 's, i was so mad because once i did get home and called the # realized it was a scam i felt so bad for the people who will go through the process without knowing there is such a way the little bit of information you give them they will use it to get you one way or another. i stumbled upon this site just wanting to know what the place was after sitting on hold for too long for any company. i thank you all for being here this will help stop these scammers taking advantage of people in these times with the unemployment rate being what it is of course when someone hears there is a poteintal job involved of course they will call but once yyou realized you been had its too late.

- John replies to Arlene| 2 repliesHello, I got the call and listened to the message then called back and heard the same message that everybody else did. I did talk to the guy it was for a general construction job and carpenter trainee position that was on craig's list. He asked me a few basic question's like my name and address and that was about it. He asked my level of education and I told him I have a BS degree, then he asked me if I was interest in getting another degree or going back to school. I said no. It might be for a job, however it does seem like they are also trying to sell enrollment. Probably for one of those online colleges. He said somebody else would be calling me. He said the call could last from 5 to 45 minutes. If I said I had a GED and not a Degree then the call might have lasted longer so he could tell me all the great jobs I could get with a degree. Since I already have a degree that was not the case.
- JJI believe this comes from a co. called action marketing. I am searching for a job, found a few blue collar jobs that were paying well, too well, so I applied. Then I click on the submit resume through careerbuilder.com. I then get directed to this action marketing site, or perfect career center.com site, and when complketing your contact info, ask you a few questions about your interest in furthering your career. I sad "no". Then I received emails about the company I was applying for being interested in me and to click on the link to confirm that I am still interested in the job and would like to interview. It was at this time I encountered the same higher education questions. I declined again. Now I am receiving these calls from this same number. I'm glad I googled it before calling them.
- cjonesgot a call from this number...recording said to call back to get information regarding a position I had applied for on line but the thing is I have never applied for a job in New York. Glad I cehcked into this number before I called it.
- callscreenerI have a hunch this is from Career Builder, as l have begun to get TONS of spam since l registered with them. l don't know if it's a legitimate job opp or not, but l can't imagine spending so much time to screen for an interview! I vote SCAM.

- JvilleCalled me earlier today. Did a reverse look up on whitepages.com Said it is a Cellphone number from NY.
- From Anna page 3I received a call from 1-646-520-0697 on Jan. 14,2009 @ 10:00a.m. When I answered it was a recording saying I had applied for an online job and I needed to be on my computer to finish the application process. A person then came on my cell phone, by the way, It was my cell phone that they called. They said they were calling from Employment Select and that I filled out an online job application on Dec. 26, 2008. (I did apply for a job online on that date and this is what happened. There was a job listing posted on hot jobs for a part-time receptionist, the online application asked for my name, adress, cell phone # and provider and I uploaded my resume. I thought it was strange that they were asking for my cell phone provider, as soon as I clicked on the continue button I was switched to what looked like a careers website but it was called Mandarin Employment. I immediately knew something was wrong with this application. I tried to contact them via email at info@mandarin.com, this was the contact email given on that website, asking them to remove my information. The email was returned stating no such account existed. I suspected then that this was a scam. I typed in the name on google Mandarin Employment and found out they use several different names such as Employment Select, City Careers, Career Network, JobEnrichmentNow. From the info I received on google these companies are listed as bait and switch.) Now getting back to the original phone call, I knew immediately then, who this company was and told them to remove my information and that they did not have my permission to use my info for any purposes. I was very firm with them on the phone and the person starting yelling at me and saying who did I think I was to yell at them. They wanted my info to remove me from their system. I didn't fall for it because they already had my info. This persons manager came on the phone and said they didn't like my tone of voice. I told her what I had found out about their company online and I was not going to give them any more info because they had gotten my info thru false pretenses and I hung up on them and they kept calling me back. I stopped answering the phone. Any company that calls you back to yell at you is not a legitimate company in my opinion. I have filled out many online job applications but never experienced anything like this. To those unemployed please be careful out there, unfortunately there are many people willing to take advantage.

- krisi think it is so wrong for these people to be preying on others that are searching for a job. from first hand experience i know it is incredibly difficult to find a job now a days, and they feeling of disappointment you find when you realize it wasnt even a real job you were applying for, after hoping and praying "maybe this one will be it"! it makes me sick to my stomach.
- duped tooI just hung up with this number. I also redialed from caller ID (no voice mail left), and confirmed information and told them my level of education. The representative (Libby) said this was regarding an Office Assistant job I applied for - I only did so through perfectcareercenters.com. Sound familiar to anyone?
- Alleycatgot a call from 6465200697 at 10:41am. did not answer, no msg left. i have resumes online as well. if it was legit a msg would have been left.
- Colleen in PennsylvaniaI received a call a few weeks ago from this number after a completed an on-line "reference" for a friend of mine who I know is looking. The email request to complete the reference and looked legit as though it had been completed by my friend. After finishing the on-line reference, the site directs you to a series of questions; send emails to friends/business associates to provide references for you, asks if you want to post your resume, get education money, etc. I got out of that site as fast as possible. When I mentioned to my friend that I complete an on-line reference for her she didn't know what position it might have been for, and assumed that it was just part of her job search. Then the calls began! At my office, my cell, my home. They won't stop. Sometimes it goes dead and sometimes I get the message to call back. I don't know how all of these numbers were located for me since I didn't supply any information -- any my home number isn't even under my name.
- SCAM replies to anonymous| 1 replyIt is a scam to get you to go to college and then they want you to write them a check to get your info.
- ConcernedStayed on the line for apprx. 5 mins and SPOKE WITH A LIVE REPRESENTATIVE. She told me she's verifying my information for a confidential client that I submitted online over 8 mos. ago. She verified my name, address and phone number. Then she asked about my highest level of education and if I'm planning to return to school. When she asked about my previous employers I became super supicious, because she should already have that information, but she did "not." So I refused to answer additional questions and she told me she would inform their confidential client that I was no longer interested. I'M GLAD I PULLED UP THIS INFORMATION BEFORE SPEAKING WITH THEM. I WILL DEFINITELY BLOCK THEIR #.
