- CarriCalled and wanted to verify information. Told me it would take approx. 45 minutes and I told them that my cell minutes were limited, could I call them back and took their number. Thank goodness I looked this up online, as I've had tons of phishing scams since job hunting.

- RLWGot call from 646-520-0697 and they asked for my cell phone number and then asked for verification of my address (which they already had). It all leads to getting you to call 1-866-921-7838 and they try to scam you for college loans. I'm reporting them to the FCC.
- Tony replies to Arlene| 1 replyJust got the call from 646-520-0697, didnt answer. cant believe they are still getting away with it a year later. Someone needs to step up and do something about all theses scams pretending to be jobs, its gotten worse.
- Amber replies to TonyMy boyfriend just got a call from this number 2 hrs and 26 mins ago, he answered, dead air on the other end. What's the point?
- accountantI also received a call from this company on a Saturday, which surprise me a lot, but I waited on the line until someone answer and told me that it was in regards of a payroll administrator position that I applied on-line, when I asked for the company name she told me it was confidential and asked me if I have 45 minutes in front of a computer available, I asked her if I could call her back on Monday and she said to call her at the number identified in my cell. Then I decided to start searching info. about this company because it sounded very strange for me. I mean in the back of my mine I can not remember applying to any payroll administrator position recently but a long time ago...like a year ago I believe. I am not going to call them back thanks to everything I have read, but I wondering when someone is going to do something about this situation since it is pretty sad.

- rgp replies to EmmyJV"Calling before 8am is against the law.
Report the number to the BBB - they can be fined BIG time."
The BBB is not a Gvt. Agency they could not help you in this matter. - BeachBunny replies to Arlene| 5 repliesI used to work for pieces of snot and it is a scam. Unfortunately, I fell for it too. Here's a hint that you're not really applying for a job: When the site you fill out your application on asks you if you want to further your education or improve your credit score, it's a scam. I can't believe these people haven't been shut down yet.
- cooper replies to 6465200697i got a call too. i called them again and they verified my name and address and said that employer would contact me directly.
Guys i understand that this is a scam from all your posts. But just that they are wasting our time. what other benefits do they have? will we be affected in any other way? - posting| 1 replyChristopher a "verification specialist" called from 646 520 0697. The reason for the call was to verify the on line job application prior to sending to the posting company. When the questions could have been answered by the on line application information and when the questions became more about education it was apparent to me that it is a scam. He even went as far as saying "I will let the Education Connection" division know that you will be calling 321 219 1490 and when that call takes place the application will be forwarded to the posting company with additional comments and will "look good that you are interested in continuing education". I responded with a "please close the application process and forward it on to the posting company and when I want to call Education Connection, I will". It frankly felt wrong and I wish like the other people out there, they would be halted from posting fake job offers just to bolster their education program.
- posting replies to postingOh... and I forgot to add: The job posting that Christopher called about did match what I had applied for and this is the e-mail address of the actual job posting: amy.denton45@gmail.com on craigslist.org.

- akpThe outfit called my private number this morning but I didn't pick up. Of course, there's no message to return the call.
- anonymous replies to BeachBunny| 3 repliesI dont understand why they are doing this. They have my resume (because I thought it was a job I was applying for on Craigslist). But what are they doing with the information? I did not give my soc number, just the resume. Then I started getting all these emails saying go to this website and it offered scholarship money for people interested in furthering their careers. I thought it was fishy so I never replied. Now I am getting calls from this number 646-520-0697 which is some automated thing. Does anyone know what type of scam this is?
Thanks. - TomI received a call yesterday, 3/10,2009, from 646-520-0697. They said it was in reference to a job that I applied for on-line. When I asked the company name and location the caller said it was confidential and even he did not know any details. He asked me if I had 45 minutes to talk and answer questions. His first question was about furthering my education. When I told him that I had no interest, at this time, to further my education he told me that he made a mistake and the company really didn't need any more questions answered. He said the company would contact me soon for an interview. I told him that I was desperate and hoped to hear something.
What kind of low-life can do this to people? Do they consider this as their job or a purposeful scam? I would like to meet this person.
Beware of this type of activity. - Larry Karmel646-520-0697 called. A recording told me they verify on-line applications for thousands of employers. This was for a job I applied for on-line, the recording said. Please hold for an agent. I hung up.

- Chelsey| 2 repliesI got a call from this number too at about 2:00 in the afternoon. I didn't answer it though because I didn't recognize the number. I also filled out an application after looking at jobs on Craigslist.com.
Don't look for jobs there. I guess anyone can post whatever they want on there!
