My cell phone started to ring - I answered and to no response.  I hung up and found this website.  I also have been searching for work.

Missed a phone call from this number and looked online to see if I could figure out where the  number came from.  I have been applying for jobs online - apparently it got into the wrong hands...stupid scammers.  Is there a place we can report this?

Same thing here, too!! I think they got me from Craigslist, too.

I just rec'd a call from this number as well. I usually don't answer calls from numbers I'm not familiar with so I looked it up and saw all of this. I'm so glad these postings are here. Can't believe people prey on those that are really looking for work...

I got a call today from these people on my cell phone at 9:30am. They claimed the company name was Employment Select. It was a recording repeating that a Verification Specialist will be on the line shortly and that I should be in front of a computer with an internet connection. If I sit in front of the computer my cell phone loses it's signal. But either they hung up on me or the phone dropped the signal, because they were just gone. Now that I know it's for one of the jobs that made me fill out that spammy survey I'm not all that concerned, just annoyed. It's hard enough to find a job, but now I have to deal with scam artists too.

I agree with all of you. I just received a call from this same number at exactly 9:06am. Checked the number on line and it seems that is a NY area code that's when I stumbled over this site. Good thing I missed the call. I also have been applying to job ad posted on Craig's List. Who are these individuals and what do they want?

I too have filled out an app from "Employment Select" I saw a posting on Craigslist that was for a pediatric office assistant. On the app it asked me if I would be interested in a $10,000 scholarship I clicked yes. What a mistake. I got two calls about online education and now I got another call from this number. Saying they will forward my info to the hiring manager. Looks like I was roped in too. Sad because I really wanted to get the job

Ditto to Kevin. They hung up before I got to answer but I'm sure this is the very same as what's being reported. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

These people are a bunch of [***]. Wasting peoples time by making these stupied phone calls and getting their hopes up about a job that doesn't even exist.  Find somthing better to do with your time [***] and stop calling me.

I think I've narrowed it down to Simplyhired.com since they are the one who continue to send me the bogus job offers which turn out to being more survey than any sort of a lead to a job.

I got a call this morning from this number and it was a computer asking to please hold and to be by a computer with online access.  When a live person came on the line, he wanted to verify my name, address, and if I had online service at home.  His name was Mark, no last name, from employment select and that I had applied for a V.P position, which is no where near my skill set.  When I asked what company it was, he said that it was a client of theirs, but could give me the name of the company, which I thought was very weird.  I to beleive that it is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call from them yesterday and I called it back and got through, it was a verification for an application I put online through Craigslist. I feel it was scam, glad to know I was right. They stated the "real" company would call me back to set up an interview.

I've applied to a lot of jobs also, and now I'm getting these phone calls from that number. They never leave a message. I tried calling it back but wouldn't go thru. Sounds like a scam. Thanks for all the ifo!

I received a call from this number on my cell phone at 9:00 this morning. When I answered my phone there were a series of recordings, all stating they were responding to a recent job I had applied for, which was Craigslist. The lady claimed to be from Employment Select. She asked me if I was still seeking employment and I stated no, she said she would remove me from their database.

hi i read ur message and called them and talked to someone and i told them about ur article and they said they werent a scam and i hung up but im not sure that they are or not i would hope that they are not but u never know then again what would they be gaining from the scam? Sincerely Brad

Calling before 8am is against the law.
Report the number to the BBB - they can be fined BIG time.
