as some hjave said, this is one of those blank #'s that show when there's a call fro skype (or probably other voip outgoing numbers)--with a skype outgoing # and subscription, virtually unlimited calls in US are~$2/month, so ads and cranks can make as many calls as they want.  My advice always is: don't answer unless you recognize the number--if it really is a friend/family from skype, there's no reason they couldn;t leave a msg...AS for the person above(moo, 3/5/2012)--unhitch your skype ohone number/pvt info from your number--or put it out under a name only friends know--I don;t want to receive calls or IM's from people trolling for contacts.
WHen I sogned onto Yahoo Msgr last year (new acct--had deleted old one), my ID went out to 27 people that I had to delete/block before I could even use it--thought I had done it right, but...Be careful when setting these up, put all controls ON (ie want to be contacted only my people on MY contact list) and hope for the best.--My calls come in on cell--no connection to my Skype (it has no number)---I can only guess this is random dialing. (hope)

Yes.. it is a Skype number.. just got a call from a manufacturer in China wanting to send me a product catalog via email...  typical...

Just got a call from this number and let it go to voice mail.  Checked the voice mail and it was my business partner calling me from Hong Kong using skype to place the call.  It must be a dedicated routing number for skype users.

Received 2 calls 3/6/2012 from 661-380-3000; 14:38 (4:38PM) and 15:50 (5:50PM)...  FORTUNATELY I'd just returned home after 5 weeks stay in hospital.  Still very week, so was taking nap when both calls came into my 'tele'.  When returning call -- there was an "intercept" by phone company warning me of this number.  In doing a GOOGLE search -- was directed here and given warning (among the numerous sites).  From reading, just a few of these posts, it shows they are located in numerous places (within California) at present.  SO..."thank you" telephone company and Google, for keeping me out of trouble.  Also, thanks to my wife who did not recognize the number and let it ring!

This number calls me every day offering some kind of student loan. Its hard to tell cause They don't speak English very well. Everyday I say add me to your no call list and everyday I get the call from the same guy. I don't know whats going on but its not good.

This is a plain Skype call out another country to your cell phone. No marketeers.

I have gotten several calls from this number stating that my ss# is on a file case and they need to verify it, they have even called my work !!! he has a very thick accent I csn barely understand him sounds like it is an automated system..has anyone got anything similiar to this ?

wow stupid prank call, dont have any better things to do other than prank calling. I admit he was actually pretty convincing until he wouldn't give out that individual person's name. DAMN YOU PRANK CALLERS!

harrassing calls

I just got the same call.  It's from skypes.  My friend is in China and can call anyone he wants at no fee.  It's great!  

It's always the same phone number, Bakersfield, CA 661-380-3000.  If they are not your friend or you are not expecting a phone call from Skypes hang up or don't answer.

Got a call from this number googled it got this page. received a voicemail, listened to it and it was a friend calling from their Iphone.  Damn Technology! I am definetely behind on the times.

Molly Dan is right ... I just received a call from a friend and that same number came up .. and that person uses skype..... So it's ok someone you know.... :)
