- ughIt's a Georgia number but when i called back she said they are located in California
- Caller: IRC
- wthLet me guess. They only have 2 employees... Barry and some black lady...and we all have 2 charges? Hmmm
- AnitaCalled me at work. Definitely a scam, told me I was being charged with fraud. I got their fraud.
- OnToItHas anyone actually called one of the numbers that they use and then later checked their landline or cell phone bill too see if the number called is any different than the number that comes up on caller id when these people are calling? Since they have the capability of changing the caller id numbers, which obviously route back to a main number, it makes it really difficult to pinpoint where these idiots are located.
- KDS replies to CarrieSomething happened to me! Very same "script"!! I wish we could stop this from happening to others!
- KDS| 2 repliesthey said they are IRC- mediation firm! I have fraud and a breach of contract on a pay day loan I supposedly told out June 30, 2012 for 400.00 and I owe $1000.00 . A summons will be sent to my work or home! And if I wanted to settle I better make up my mind now! I told him I wanted the address and phone number for the pay day company and he said it was Compass Capital! It was rep in an acct I closed over 6 years ago!! And they tried to pull the funds and the acct was closed! But I owed!! I said I want to see the contract and he said I docu-signed and he said it's too late you need to pay now!! I said I wanted to contact my lawyer because I have right to speak to one! He said why are you fighting this, you know you did it! I said oh no I did not! How did we get you info, I said really anyone can get info on people if they want too! Yeah what ever why didn't you report!! Because I did not know! And that is your word against ours! And you think that will hold up in court!! I put the phone down and he continue to rant!! What a jerk!! So I pulled my credit report, and to my surprise nothings woofing and nothing owing!! Please be careful I see this everyday, I am lucky to work where I can check my credit report! If I owed money to a paid loan- I promise they would of tracked me down way before 3 years after the fact! Especially when they charge 425% interest!!! And if they were really a debut collector they have all your info!!! Just a heads up!!! They need to be stopped!!!

- NancyI too have receieved these threatening calls about 2 fraud cases against my
social security number. I have spoken to Barry and some lady who refused to
provide her name. They claim they work for IRC in California. But the number
they are calling from is a Georgia number. They have been harrassing me, so I
decided to research the number. I found that the carrier of this number is
XO Communications (www.xo.com) which is a Telecommunications company that offers
Data and Voice services to small and private buisnesses. So the scammers calling
from this number are customers of XO Communications. Please report these people
to XO Communications so they can be made aware of just what type of peope they
are providing service to. It needs to be brought to the attention of this company
and have them investigate the number, since they are the ones that provided
service to them. Here is the main contact for XO Communications:
Brendan Strasburger
Brendan.J.Strasburger@xo.com
If we all start complaining they will do something! This company does not want
a bad reputation for providing service to scam artists. They have well known
and respected customers like Hilton, and The Golden Gym trust me they dont
want that reputation. We have to stick together!- Caller: IRC

- lanceI contacted a lawyer after I received this call and this is exactly what he replied:
This company is a scam company, I cannot find any valid information on the
company. The rep cannot give any information on the company, they are not
registered with the secretary of state. This is a common occurrence for
previous customers of Pay Day Loan companies. The next time they call
you ask them "If I was to make a payment to your company where can I mail
the check to, and who would I make the check out to." Generally they give a
false address, but an address where payments are accepted may lead to a
company that can be pursued. They generally will not give a valid address
when asked. If they will not comply, inform them that you are not paying
them anything. Eventually the calls will stop once they realize they cannot
get a payment out of you.- Caller: IRC
- JohnGot the same call too, I found this on their phone carrier website:

- Hope| 1 replyThis number continues to call me, but they are using a different number than before. I was scared to death the first time as I was pending on a background check for a new career the very day I answered the call. I knew I had never had a Payday Loan, but I was worried someone stole my identity and got one in my name. So I paid them the money. After the fact, when I was where I could do research, I found out it was a scam, filed a complaint with the FTC and called my bank. The FTC was very helpful and my bank put the full amount back in my account. Now they are calling again with the same song and dance and now I know better. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THESE PEOPLE SAY! Even if you did get a payday loan in the past, it would not take 3 - 5 years for them to find you. Ask for their business name and a contact name where your lawyer can reach them, I'll be surprised if they dont' hang up. These people are disgusting, evil and the lowest form of human beings imaginable. Don't give them any of your information if you do speak with them.

- Scotty| 1 replyReceived the same call, SS number connected to fraudulent activity and I would receive a summons if I did not respond. I called and asked the Co. name he said IRC. I asked what that stood for and he hung up. Called back and asked him the same question again. He said IRC Information Recovery Company. I googled it...no such thing. I gave him nothing and told him he could hang up again and he did...lol

- Rebecca replies to ScottyI say we call them and harrass them now. What are they going to do? Call the cops? I hope so, so I can let them listen to the voicemail they left me...lol

These numbers left voicemails on both my phone
And my daughters as well. A woman claiming to have
A summons for two fraudulent charges against me in the county that I'm from. The message goes on to say what everyone else's messages has been saying. I freaked out but a red flag the email that they claimed I made this so called loan with I never heard of before. They went on to tell me the name of my bank and told me the bank would not be able to look up this information because my account was closed. Bugged by this comment when I got home I called my bank they wanted me to call this 678-816-1650 people back and get an exact date so that I could pay my bank to pull the file . My account was closed only 3 yrs ago they still had my file because they keep records for up to 7 yrs. so I would be able to see if there really was money wired into my closed account. When I called back the man on the other end wasn't so eager to speak to me especially when I told him my bank was wiling to help me. He then started to say... I'm on a conference call right now , call me tomorrow, and just making excuses. By this time I was fed up I asked him straight up is this a SCAM? He started yelling at me and told me to wait for the law to show up at my place of work he went on to say what was my phone number? I said u should have my number you been calling me! He was still yelling I hung the phone up on him and haven't heard from him since....
I managed to get this so called agents name

- Janet| 1 replyI got a called from this ph# 1-678-816-1650 yesterday and a message was left stating I will have 2 summons at work or home in my county. This person stated I had fraudent ss#'s attached to my name. They left no name or business name.
Tried the phone number back and got a message stating that ph voice mail was full. Again, no name or business. - Ugh| 1 replyThese guys have tried calling me at my work and cell and not giving me any clear information; that they work for several companies. They freaked me out, as they told me I was going to get summoned. What should I do at this stage?
- CWG40 replies to HopeCould you post the name of the entity that got the payment you made. That would help us located who, exactly is pulling this scam.
- CWG40 replies to UghThis is a total scam. Read the other posts. If you are going to be the subject of a summons, then an attorney for the other party would have first written you some sort of letter trying to negotiate a settlement. Usually a summons is issued on application to the court clerk by the party filing a lawsuit. Which means, if true, that a case has already been filed against you. But that's utter nonsense if you haven't received any communication from the attorney for the other side. You can check this out by calling or going to your local main civil court. As one of the clerk's for assistance and tell them what happened. They will not find anything with your name on it most likely and they would probably already be familiar with the scam.
One thing's certain, if you were the subject of a law suit you would NOT hear about it from some scummery scammery debt collector who refuses to give the name and address of his company.
This is simply an attempt to frighten you into paying them something. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. If you can find them. - CWG40 replies to JanetTotal scam. How could you have fraudulent SS#s attached to your name? No legitimate process server notifies you in advance that they are coming by. Read the other posts, ignore them and block their calls.
- DeterminedOk, so I am determined to get to the bottom of this. I received a call as well, and a voice mail. Now I did lie to them and said my husband was a police officer and I will have him look into this, so they immediately hung up (of course) I have not heard back from them since (that was about 2 days ago). But I researched the number and found this thread. I also found that their service provider is XO communications. So I reached out to the headquarters of XO Communications at 703-547-2000 and explained to them what was going on. An investigation has been started and they are going to monitor these scammers, I was told by the headquarters that even if you owe a debt it is against the law to threaten you in any form. All they can do is attempt to collect, but you can not go to jail over payday loans or debt. I was also told that if there is more people with complaints to have them call as well, so they can have law enforcement move in and arrest these scammers for fraud. Please people call them and make a complaint, its the only way to make them stop. Even if you do owe a debt dont be afraid you can not be charged or go to jail for debt, and XO communications is not a collection company they are only a service provider. And since they are their service provider they are the ones with all the personal info on these scum bags (address, ID, name, etc)

- DeterminedOk people it's me again with an update. After some research from the XO Commmunication headquarters about this number, they notified me that number 678-816-1650 was ported out and moved to Bandwidth.com which is now the current provider. If you go to the website you can submit a complaint online for fraud or abuse if their clients are using their service illegally.
They most likely ported out to become untraceable, because people don't contact the service providers they only look up the numbers.
But they have messed with the wrong one this time!
I will get to the bottom of this I promise! I need you to help me complain to Bandwidth.com as well we need these people stopped- Caller: IRC
