    MAD
Got a call from this number. I don't answer calls that I do not recognize. They left a message on my machine saying I had 2 counts of fraud on my SS number and that they were going to serve me papers at work or at my home. The number that the lady left on my answering machine is the same number they were calling from. Good thing I got on here to check it first to see that is a SCAM!!! They make me so mad!!!!

678-816-1650 said they were going to give a summons because of fraudulent activity related to my social security number. They said I needed to call back right away with reference number VOL261518 to do something about it or the summons would be served.

Day and time of weekly call changed.
Actually had a "live person" speaking this time, instead of the recorded sounding female message. This time it was a male. Format of message left was different, scripted, but basically saying the same thing as before. File number given was also different.

Still no reference as to what company.

    Still a scam.

Thank you!!  I knew something was up! They sent my two kids and I recorded voicemails saying there are two fraudulent activities charges  associated with my name and my ssn. That they are looking to summons me to court and I need to contact this number 678-816-1650 ASAP to stop court docs from being served. So I calleld them, entered in the account/file number they left on my v/m, this guy answers proceeded to tell me I have outstanding loans that I took out and didnt pay. I asked for the creditors name, he tells me he doesnt know because the file been passed through multiple agencies and that I should know because I was the one who borroweed the money. Im like what?? Ok, I've never heard of a bill collector or whoever you are trying to collect money but dont have any info on the creditor, so how do I know this is legit? So he proceed to tell me they have all my info,, so my old email address and my last 4 SSN, I told him, ok the last 4 of anyone SSN is on everything- so what does that mean? Then I said, so you cant give me a name, an amount or anything so guess you cant help me. He goes, well I have an amount, you didnt let me tell you.... So he tells me this bogus amount--- $890.86 that includes all court costs and fees... okkk, so I asked for the original amount... he say he didnt have it!!! I told him, serve me papers because obviously you cannot give my anything worth while!! HE HUNG UP!!

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, etc. all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

My father received 2 calls/voicemails and was informed to have me call them immediately because there are 2 suits against me. Red Flag # 1, you CANNOT leave confidently information like that on a voicemail. I called and the girl wanted to verify the last 4 of my social. Of course I'm not going to verify that. She was nasty and rude and said, "ok, we'll see you in court" and hung up. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and she just HAPPENED to be a supervisor. I advised that I want to know who they are what this is in regards to and I WILL NOT verify my social. She said "well, you have to verify it or we will not give you any information" then say goodbye (in a smart tone), I said no and she kept repeating goodbye and then finally slammed the phone down.

Sorry, the # was 678-816-1650. I did what a previous person did and text them advising if anyone in my family or I receive even 1 call, I will file a harassment suit against them.

I got a call from this number concerning my wife. I am not my wife. Yes they left a voicemail with all sorts of confidential information in it. Like previous posts said "that isn't how it works" I did a little checking online and it is a VoIP number out of Smyrna, GA. Glad for this site we've had a lot of problems with scammers. Oh and guess what? 2 Charges and will get served at the place of employment.

    Feeling Threatened
Just received a call from this number with the same message as stated by others.  When I called the number back I got a recording saying that their mailbox was full.  I feel completely threatened by this voicemail.  They did not leave a company name only a case number.

Same situation as everyone else. Funny cuz we list our number in the phone book with the first name initials, and when these people call they leave a message with a name that starts with one of our first initials, but nobody that has ever been at this number. We've had this number since 1999.  Glad to see the earlier comments about calling them back, because they're right it could easily be linked to a switching system and be a costly long distance phone call.  And interesting how my Caller ID always shows 'Marietta, GA'. That tells you there that it is rigged, cuz how often does the name of a city come up on your Caller ID instead of caller's name or business name?

Just called number back I would not confirm my Ssn so I got threatened to be seen in court. Called back guy was very rude rude yelling at me treating me badly. Talking over me didn't want to answer me. Told me they had several centers so that's why I may get different numbers. Told me I could pay $800 now to avoid court. I told him to send me proof he said I had it all wrong. Debt collectors have to do that but they are legal mediators and don't have too. I said send me something to prove he said we will just sue see you in court and hung up on me.

Female voice with southern accent left voice mail on my home phone today.  Computer voice said my ex-husband's name and the fake voice came back on and said, "There are 2 fraudulent charges linked to your name and social security number. Charges are being filed in your county.  You must respond before receiving you subpoena at your work or home address or you will lose your legal rights.". The computer voice then gave the file number LBCC19668, then said your phone number is 678-816-1650.

My ex has burned me with several debts, so I called them when I got home from work.  I got a recording, "This is process servers.  Our hours are Monday thru Thursday 9-6 and Friday 9-1.  The mail box is unable to accept any more messages.". Never heard of a debt collector or process server in a different time zone that wouldn't specify the time zone they are in.

Hope bad stuff doesn't happen now because I called them back.
