I received a phone call with recorded message at 2 minutes to midnight, last night, on September 6. Since I do not usually receive calls from anyone I know this late at night and it was a number with an out of state number, I did not answer.  I receive plenty of bogus calls, so I try not to waste my time on them. I did, however, check my voice mail right after the call. There is a recorded message saying that it was from a correctional facility. As far as I know, I do not know anyone who is in jail, certainly no one who is close to me. I suspect that the inmate dialed the wrong number. If it is a scam, I wish that they would at least call earlier in the day. I live in Washington State and perhaps, in someone's mind, fit into the elderly, gullible category, although I am not technically a senior. I do fit into the "easily irritated by midnight phone scams" category. I am on a Do Not Call List, but, if it just an inmate who dialed the wrong number, I see no reason to report this yet. If it happens again, I will take more proactive steps.

Got 5 calls from this phone number to my cellphone within a 40 minute period between 4:06pm to 4:40pm CST.

I received a call from this (713-489-7846) number about a half hour ago and I do not know anyone from that area code.   cound't answer, because I was on the line with someone else and it was important.  Now I am wondering who that was trying to call, or was it a scam call?

Its somebody in jail trying to reach you or the previous owner of your phone number. My ex is in Elmwood Correctional in Milpitas, CA. The normal number from him is 713-574-1101... There's also 713-489-7846

This happened to me yesterday, I only answered it bc I thought it was from my husband's business in Texas.  I swear the recording said that it was from the Quachita County Correctional Facility...which in Louisiana, they are Parishes.....not counties. It had a female voice recording and then it changed to where like a person could interject their name...which I couldn't catch...I know no one in jail. I just hung up. Very annoying because I then get another call today from a Texas number about our missing dog, that my husband put on Craigslist...and when I looked up that Texas number 210-824-0376-that is a scammer number as well.

I keep getting a call from this number and its a recording saying its an inmate from Elmwood Correctional Facility.  It's only a recording, doesnt say the name of the inmate.

I received two calls back to back from this number, since I don't know anyone that is in jail I declined them both, I'm not going to to pay anything when I don't know who it is....recording said to press said number to except payment or something along those words.

Interesting--call recording was similar to "Collect call" messages from AT&T.
Recording said this was an inmate call from "Marion County prison" and the charges were free.(?) Caller recorded his name as "What's up?". We do not accept collect calls at our company switchboard.

So, I've been getting these calls for months. I always hit the option for don't call me again. Well, while trying to pull up the number on my phone to do an internet search on it, I accidently hit call. Once the recording picked up I hung up. Not even 30 seconds later I got a call from this number stating that someone in our local Jail by the name of Chris was trying to reach me. It's always the name Chris. What are the odds that 10 seconds after calling this number, CHRIS, would try to call me? Has scam written all over it.

I got 2 calls from this number yesterday, once at 6pm something and then again at 215 am. I do not know anyone in jail that would call me. Said it was from Dupage County in IL. I have a feature on my phone to block calls and I did.

I got a call from this number, it was a creditor, Sunrise Credit Services to be exact.

Got the same call twice tonight, Some clown from the Leavenworth (KS) Co. Jail.

I got a call from that number as well.  I know who it is that called me, but the operator says I have to use a credit/debit card to calls from that number.   My boyfriend is in the Lubbock County Jail and he keeps calling me, but I can't accept it, because I have no credit/debit card and plus I don't want to pay money.
