I did get thru to this number and they are not connected with that correctional facility.  Can't seem to find where it is located.  Only thing to do is to block the number from calling.

No its not a scam. Its someone you may know who is placed in a corrections facility who is trying to call you. when they ask you for your credit card number its for you to purchase prepaid calls for the call to be accepted

It is not a scam. Just someone from prison trying to get ahold of you. My ex is in the Kern's Correctional facility apparently. He called me six times today before I finally answered.
You get a free one minute call, then you have to set up an account to talk to them anymore, at least until they get out.
Don't fear. No scam here. Or maybe its a wrong number either way.

When I got a call from this number, it was a woman saying she wanted to speak to the owner. I told her no she didn't and hung up.

I received many calls from this same number but identified as the Maryland Correctional facility. I just ignored them and deleted the message. Should I report it to some agencies.

I got this call last night after we had gone to bed, about 10:00 pm.  I never answer calls with numbers I don't recognize, but I got a voicemail that told me it was an inmate at the local correctional facility.  We don't know anyone there so they must have dialed the wrong number.  The caller ID also said Houston, so that must be the hub where the calls come out of.

I also receive calls from this number, which happens to be an inmate in Madison County, AL trying to place a collect call. I just got my phone number, and I am guessing the inmate is trying to reach the prior owner of my number.

This is actually a service that inmates use to place calls. Inmates pay for phone minutes and this is the number the call originates from. So if you get this number, an inmate is trying to reach you.

It is not a scam. I have a family member who is in a NC prison who uses this number when he call. You have to establish and account and then add money. You can also send in a money order if you don't want to give out your cc information. You can also block the calls from you phone or from the website www.offenderconnect.com or their toll free number: 24/7 Automated System: 888-988-4768. I just got the call and it said it was from a correctional facility, I called the number back and got a recording for some business. that is weird, are they using the inmates to cold call?

My brother is in jail in Indiana and this is one of the numbers he calls from. After reading some of the responses from others I see the number is used for a variety of jails in different states. It is not any type of scam, either you know someone in jail or the inmate is dialing the wrong number. But the calls are from someone in jail!

I get numbers from thetr say its in Conroe Texas supposibly federal detention center.even talk to inmate family but area code in Conroe isnt 713 ???? If this scam the whole damn  family involved its possible.

This number belongs to a calling company used by inmates in the US to make collect calls.  It is not a scam. If you do not have anyone in jail it is probably just a wrong number.  It registers in many different places because it is a calling card.  You can always ignore the call. My inmate calls from this number. It is legit.

Any one who says it is not a scam is part of the scam. Just a way to make money on collect calls.

I keep getting repeated calls on my cell phone that my daughter uses and we live in NC.  We do not know anyone in Texas or in a Correctional Facility.  I want the calls to stop but when choosing to stop the calls it hangs up.  This is really becoming a nuisance, I understand making a wrong call, but repeatedly!
