Received my fax today to let me know about my selection, although they only had it to the attention of the Owner/Manager (of what?) Googled it and luckily found this site to confirm my suspicions. Scam has now made it to New South Wales in the Hunter Valley.

There is a Fax ID on the top left hand corner of my fax and it is: 251307511

i got a fax last week for the presidential whos who among business and professional achievers from the phone number 5163689910.

I just got it also - Brisbane.  I was also sus as there was no letterhead, no web address and was not addressed to me directly.  I did not think that the information they were asking for was risky, however I had not considered the cost of the fax or the phone call.  I googled and came to these posts at the top of the google search.  Thank you

Brisbane June 9th, Just got the fax, having several copies of Who's Who I was immediately suspect that such a respected publication would collect information in this a way, jumped on the net and TaDa... found this string. It is already scrunched up and in the bin, it warrants no further investment of my time.

June 9th Melbourne. Received the fax today and stupidly sent it back even though I was sus. Found this site and realised my mistake. Won't be giving them ANY details when they call me. Thanks to everyone for the warning.
P.S - My hubby had a great idea. We are about to fax them a whole pile of  BLACK PAGES...repeatedly. Anyone else care to join us???

I received this fax today for the second time.  The first time we suspected it was a scam and thought it would be interesting to reply as there was no bank details required.  We did this and then received a telephone call from someone who said he needed to do an interview and asked several, quite legit, questions.  At the end he said he needed to take a credit card number as we could be one of two types of members - platinum or gold.  The thing that really through me was this included two free flights around the world!!!!  We said we dont supply our credit card over the phone and he would need to send us all the details for approval first.  Of course this has never happened however they were such great talkers and the legitimate Whos Who does have such a good name that it would be very easy to get sucked in and provide your card details.  One price was abot $500 and the other $800 so a great money making scam!

Yes received fax today. Considered how we would be a candidate without being nominated!! Came online to check things out and found your posts. Thankyou very much saved me wasting my time.

Checked the ACCC website and reported. This is known as a fax back scam where you can be charged $20-30 for returning fax so beware. Unless it is individually addressed to you personally or your business then it is obviously a scam! i have informed them of all details and Jennifer Rivera (02)8078 6030 hopefully they can track these scammers down and stop them from wasting everyones valuable time.

Please warn others about Mark Anthony McGuiness...I am a UK Psychologist...this person I have reported when in New York...I am based in the UK....he lives in Brooklyn and is extremely rehearsed  and well researched on people he targets..Dorothy

Yes, I received that fax on June 26th and they called many times under the name of Standford University. It sounds like a call center, and the person who tried to do interview informed that they will write editorial about you in their magazine to promote your business. I just told him if he looks for money to pay for his magazine publication he has knocked to the wrong door, then he hung up !! I suppose they are collecting address to make a list to SELL, sell editorial service and subscription to their publication THAT WILL NEVER BEEN PUBLISHED. So beware and never fill such fax scam.
